This is a video of my progression as I built the Halloween Town Fountain. Fountain stands about 8 1/2 ft tall and the well is about 6 ft. Everything is carved out of styrofoam. Hope you enjoy.
OMG I am so absolutely head over heels in LOVE with this!! I've always wanted to do this fountain, but never knew where to begin. You did it! Perfection!!!!! Love your haunt.
Thanks everyone. I really appreciate all the kind awesome comments. I have gained much of my inspiration from all of you and watching all the amazing things you create. So thank you.
WOW WOW WOW Sue!!!! Such an incredible prop. You are so freakin' talented. I love how you made something that is so unique and something that looks like it would be hard as hell to make. And I love it that you made this video to show the steps. Congrats on one badass prop girl friend. HFL
Hi Sue! Wonderful job and I'm sure you're neighborhood kids loved coming to your house to trick or treat! I'm curious how you got it all to stand up without blowing or tipping over? Did you have rebar in the ground or something to anchor it, and did it work?
Chris Birtel thanks so much. There is actually a galvanized steel pole that I hammered about three feet into the ground and everything is slipped over it. I do have thick fishing line wrapped around the neck and anchored into the ground. It has worked so far. The fountain has had it share of mishaps but not from falling over do to weather. More so when assembling it and it being dropped. Lol but it's still going strong. Thanks again for your kind words
Thanks for the reply! I've created a few Halloween outdoor monsters using pvc (boogie boogie) and paper mache (oogie and jack) painted to withstand the elements. I've never used foam so was wondering if you had to make something like the mummy all over again, would you still use foam or another medium? I'm going to attempt to make some more of the NBC characters this year so am rolling up my sleeves and starting now!!! Thanks for the inspiration; that fountain was on point and I'm sure you're the talk of your neighborhood!
Did you make this with the tractor supply blocks? I was debating using those and other stuff o have around here to keep costs down. But this is what I inspire to build. But first we are finishing the motor and assembly to turn the mayor's head. I should have that finished tomorrow... Only a 60 days...
Sue Roberts I thought so, they sure did look like it. Best find ever when I read about those and called my TS. It has saved me alot of money making stuff!
Thank you, that was amazing I have started my own Nightmare before Christmas Halloween display and the kids love it. I have a bunch of pic but little video. This will be my third year and I'm planning to go even bigger this year. I would luke to copy you fountain and create the "This is Halloween" scene on my front you. Unlike most Nightmare before christmas displays I try and go 3D. Any help would be great Thanks
