MY NISSAN GTR'S DAMAGE IS WORSE THAN I THOUGHT!! PT.3 

What I like about your videos is you show the struggle. I have attempted to remove a bumper or the likes about five times in the past, only to find a small bolt or cable tie holding it on. This makes the videos really relatable, I love it.

When you see the R35 stripped down, theres more than meets the eye to the engineering. Such a great car and worthy of getting back on the road. Lovely to see this type of content 👌🏻👍🏻

Do yourself a favour and invest in proper spot weld drills and some cutting fluid. Another thing, those inner rear quarters do split and you really need to pull them as near as dammit to the original position before you take them off, you'll save a few headaches if you take your time.

great video dean and an insight into how these car,s are put together its a shame the tvr was there and not put in 1 of the containers as it a long term project and used the space to put the gtr there put it up on stands and remove the rear subframe and cut the whole corner out and replaced it with the in structure you brought for a 1 man band your doing well

I remeber watching Performance Rebuilds and their salavge GTR, the amount of spot welds was crazy.. It seemed never ending. You need to note which panels fit over and under the other ajoining panels. I think PR made a couple of errors with overlapping panels and had to redo.

Love these R35s my dream ride ! Going be a sweet deal if this goes up for auction after defo buying a ticket or two 😉👍🏻

It may be better to use a belt sander to grind down spot welds in some cases than using drill bits, it is much quicker & saves your back .

Great update and just got my tickets for RS3 pleased wasn't sold out actually surprised so many left maybe it's because it's not a saving salvage car, I've watched all of you content and watch a few other people too can I suggest a air chisel no idea what I'm taking about and wouldn't know how to use one but watched others use the, I just found out that by watching the adds in the video it helps the channel out (I usually skip them as soon as I can to get back to the Great content) but now I know this I'm not skipping and would ask others to do the same it would really help the channel out Dean will probably know this but necmver ask us to do it so I'm asking what's a extra 20-30 seconds of our time to help the channel?

I don't know if you use some bags to put all the small bolts and nuts and label them. This will make your work easier afterwards. Keep up with the making of good content!

B is for build did a gtr with similar damage. Might be worth checking that out for reference

Not looked in other comments but performance rebuilds did a similar repair to a GTR and you will see to what extent they had do, was a big job !

Same repair as PERFORMANCE REBUILDS you tube channel done about a year ago.

DEAN, You must wear eye protection when using wire wheel I have seen bits break off and dig into the skin. I had a man lose one eye using an angle grinder when the disc broke up, it wasn't pretty. I offered him goggles which he refused. I tried driving with one eye closed and it is so restrictive, I now have protective equipment everywhere.

Great video just a bit of health and safety if I was you I would use safety glasses when using the wire brush drill attachment as any bits which I no fly off could get in your eyes 🤔😎

Are you using normal drill bits to drill out spot welds? There are special spot weld drills avaliable, they are fast at removing the welds.

you could do with a jig/frame machine

Dean have you looked at when goonzquad did their Nissan gtr? Theirs was badly damaged and they replaced quite a few panels so watching that series may help you out going forward!

You should get a motion tripod to do your videos so you can use your hands proper

Ah yes the hidden damage. Its a can of worms when you start unpicking the car. I guess a complete salvaged corner might be a way to go if you can find one. hi is that drill a spot weld bit .normaly shorter than a hss bit spot weld bits are on amazon

Why are you not using spot weld drill? Much faster and easier than normal drills.

This could be your best yet. After seeing underneath that panel after you took it off id of said write off. Theres no way of knowing if the chassis is twisted

All very doable but needs to be properly jigged measured and pulled as straight as possible before removing any of the inner panelwork structure.

On ebay there's a shell for 3500 "Nissan GTR R35 Body shell" off a fire damaged engine.

Knee pads… Yeah 👏 Most people ignore these cheap items, they are not just comfortable and avoid kneeling on a screw etc but they save damaging knees… trust me as a ex-tech that didn’t use them 🤦‍♂️ Work trousers with knee pad pockets are even better as they are more comfortable in normal non-kneeling use 👍

The lads on performance rebuilds have done one similar to your mate might be worth checking it out for some help 👍
