Hi Jake, just come across your channel after watching your recent 90s super touring car reviews, love it and subscribed, always had a soft spot for the r32 gtr also. (Chris keir from want2race, i came runner up afew years ago and you coached me btw) 👍
Cracker of an R32, big compliment to the GTR that a guy who gets paid to race them for a living still wants to own one for the road. Really you should be doing trackdays in a Micra to give the rest of us a chance! Congrats on the car and the channel. 👍
Wow Jake the car looks stunning love your attention to detail on explaining how you have it setup , on a side note I’m a Capri owner myself and I can’t wait to see you bombing it round goodwood again in the old girl! Keep up the great videos 👍
Really appreciate that. I am a massive car nut in general as I hope my videos will show. It’ll be everything from racing cars, racing workshop tours, car explanations, testing these awesome bits of kit, vlogs of race weekends and even RC racing.
Hi from down under Jake. Just found your channel with the Accord super tourer and going through the back catalogue. Love the interest in the gtr and looking forward to seeing where it goes. Subbed 👍🏻
RE: more to come with Gr. A style stuff, glad to hear you're doing some work with Alex too, he's a legend! it looks like you did the P/S upgrade by removing the back half, but i'd still recommend an idler pulley on the belt to avoid tossing one as these cars are likely to do. it is not a fun time to lose one mid-corner, especially somewhere like Nords. would also recommend getting some kind of airbox around those filters for hot days. looking forward to the build, it's my plan as well to do a bit of a Gr. A homage - though not a proper replica.
Running a Mine's equal length into a full Kakimoto with resonator and i like it alot. It has that sweet tone when you floor it and its very smooth when cruisin. Hope youll find what your searching for in term of sound. Great one you got there! 🤙
I would say you're after the Mines equal length as it sounds more like a single turbo setup. It has the smoothest sound of all the frontpipes I've run but it hangs low so you have to watch it around speed bumps. There is no getting away from how loud and droney the Tomei setup is but I still love it. Also single turbo FTW.
@jakehillracing will fit the build perfectly I'm glad you guys were able to make this happen. I got a quote for them a few years back but after coming across the pond they were out of my price range 😂😂🤣. But good luck with your build and keep is posted 🙏🏿
I have an HKS S.silent and still struggle at brands hatch for noise. On the road it’s fine though. Il look forward to the Nurburgring vids. I’m going back there in June. 🫡
Yeah I had one before, shouldn’t have sold it really! But if you put a small centre box in it seemed to do the job! But still it makes a good noise doesn’t it! Ah awesome, enjoy buddy! I can’t wait to go back
Same turbos as me, love the twin set up. Got a full cage in mine, just be prepared to remove half or all of your rear interior... slippery slope to full race car😂
Cheers! One good thing about these cars is you can always find used parts easily. You were talking about LMGT1 wheels being expensive which is why I’m going to put a set of AR1s on some rota alloys this year! What are your thoughts on AR1 tyres?
Good idea! AR1’s are very good overall but there are some just as good options coming through like my Yokohama AD09 or the Nankang CR-S that drops next month
Yeah 100% you can. As I say I’ve got a nice 80mm Kakimoto silencer so that flow is still good. Took around 5-8DB off of it and made the drone slightly better. It won’t solve it but it does just take the edge off of it.
@@jakehillracing I misunderstood then, you run exactly what I’ve been thinking off then! maybe you’d like to sell it to me once you’re officially done with it? Love your racing by the way mate greetings from Costa Rica
I've got an old Nismo downpipe -> test pipe -> into some semi-old Nismo catback that I can't really find much, if any, info on. It's too quiet for me. Can't hear anything in the car. I was looking into I think it was the Fujitsubo Super Ti (maybe too loud?) or a Legalis R (maybe too quiet?) But, after importing and having the car in the States for almost 8 years now, I'm ready to move on. I recently moved out to the Tail of the Dragon area in Tennessee and I want something a bit more serious/less complex for the abuse the cars take out here. I don't want to spend an enormous amount of money chopping this car up and doing all sorts of stuff to it.
I have the Mines front pipe on my 32 (stainless), 200cell sport cat and HKS super turbo exhaust, here's how it sounds ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yW46vsROKrI.html I wasn't too impressed with the quality of the front pipe to say it was Mines, one of the flanges didn't seat flush and had to do some tweaking to the pipe to get it to seal properly. Tomei do a titanium equal length front pipe now for the RB26, weighs basically nothing and also has a might tighter profile, the Mines pipe sits quite low and will catch speed bumps on even a slightly lowered car so it's worth looking into the Tomei over the mines
Appreciate that. Car sounds amazing by the way. I have got a mines front pipe in good second hand condition so I’ll give it a go. I know Tomei do one, looked into it but from my understanding that mega noise that comes from the Mines you don’t get with the Tomei. Anyway… let’s give it a go, thank you so much for the comment 🙌🏻
