I appreciate your thorough explanations for your rankings,l. I feel as though a lot of people get kind of lazy when it comes to certain teams. Like the Grizzlies who have been very good for a few years now. People assume they will keep finding a way to be good. But they lost Tyus Jones as Morant’s backup and are now stuck with Marcus Smart. And they lost the all defensive wing Dillon Brooks for nothing. Plus injuries to Clarke and Adams are big question marks. With the west being so brutal and Morant being out for a minimum 25 games, I have them missing the playoffs.

Most improved used to be an award to reward the role players or bench type guys. Now it’s pretty much whoever is a first time all star which I don’t like in my opinion. For example if Anthony Edwards were to win it.. a top pick should be expected to make that jump etc

I'm a Pelicans fan, but I don't hate you putting them in 11th. They're already missing at least three key players to start the season. The loss of Trey Murphy until at least December hurts the most. He's absolutely critical to their 3pt volume. They were already losing the math battle last year. Now you take away their biggest 3pt threat. They're going to lose games where they play great because the other team just hits 10 more threes. Nance's health is also a big issue. He's their closing center. He's the only center they have on the roster who is actually switchable defensively. Naji Marshall is also out. Alvarado's dealing with ankle stuff, and Herb Jones has back issues. I think their defense is going to be in the toilet. They've looked terrible in the preseason so far. I actually think Zion is going to have his healthiest season so far. But unfortunately, I think all the other injuries will do them in. I've kind of written off this season already, which sucks because I think it's maybe the most important season in franchise history.

Hey Cone, I really appreciate the video. The smooth transition into the legal aid sponsor was unexpected, it came out of nowhere for me, but well done I guess. I have one important issue with the rankings. It seems a bit unfair to penalize the Pelicans for health, while also not penalyzing the Clippers, the Lakers or the Nuggets for health. AD, LeBron, Kawhi, PG, Murray and MPJ are all injury prone as well. I know they can coast along fine with just one star active, but so can the Pelicans. The only thing I'm pretty sure of is that the Nuggets will be a fine regular season team. Basically Jokic can drag a bunch of kindergarten kids to the playoffs on his own and I don't see him getting injured. In the playoffs however, I think the Nuggets team is missing a lot of depth. Their starting 5 is excellent, but just like the Warriors need guys like Kuminga, Moody and Payton to be good to have a playoff rotation, the Nuggets barely have anyone that is currently proven. We will see what will happen if somebody steps up and gives them good minutes. I'm predicting the Mavs to be good, being top 6 and Luka either being MVP or finishing high in the race. Zion, if he stays healthy is going to be in the MVP race as well. Pelicans without health issues will go straight into the playoffs, I'm expecting big things this year. I'm not sure how well Willie Green is going to be able to coach them through the playoffs, but their guys are good enough to go far and just deep enough to have a solid rotation. Also, I'm predicting the Lakers and Celtics to be the top teams in both conferences (if health allows), the Bucks will be good, but they will need some time to adjust. They were a total mess in the preseason and will need a bunch of games to get everything clicking.

I think giannis wins MVP. He has a chip on his shoulder to prove his doubters wrong and win games. Plus I don’t think the production will drop that much due to dame, since their styles are very complementary. His post game has improved from what I’ve seen in the preseason so I can see an increase in efficency. His defensive effort will definitely increase and might make a case for DPOY. And the bucks will probably have one of the best records in the NBA which will definitely help.

My question for the Thunder is whether anyone can shoot well enough from 3 in the starting lineup. Giddey, SGA, Dort, and JDub all shout under 36% from 3, with Giddey and Dort being particularly bad at 32.5% and 33%, respectively. Chet shot well from 3 in college, but college 3P% isn't always accurate in predicting how good of a 3 point shooter someone is in the NBA. His free throw percentage being only 71.7% at Gonzaga is particularly concerning, because NBA scouts often use FT% as a measure of how good of a pure shooter someone can be in the NBA. They have good shooting off the bench with Isaiah Joe, Davis Bertans, Aaron Wiggins, Kenrich Williams and more, but there's other reasons they're on the bench (primarily, defensive struggles). If JDub can take a catch and shoot leap, and Giddey and/or SGA can take an off the dribble 3 leap, I'm much more of a believer. However, due to the spacing issues they're likely to face, as well as SGA likely facing tougher looks as teams have had a year to scheme for how he played in the offense last year, I think they're in the 8-10 seed range this year.

I have a feeling it's either Tatum or Dame for MVP. Both teams are gonna have a ton of wins, and Dame is gonna put up a ton of points with Giannis, while Tatum is gonna have the luxury of so many star players around him that he'll process be very efficient. They'll be the top guys because of how many wins their teams have, and for whatever reason Dame will get the credit over Giannis because the media is always trying to find ways to diminish Giannis.

I understand that Detroit has a lot of young talent but if you look at the Washington Wizards starting lineup they've got proven NBA scorers at three positions. Shouldn't they be ranked ahead of Detroit? At least for next season.

As a new york fan (as in every sport any team that plays in new york fan) knicks i think will be at BEST 3, at worst, 6 seed, nets at BEST 6, at worst 10, barring injury, Knicks at best Conference semis, Nets at best first round exit.
