Thank you for posting this and other numbers. Great underrated singer, in part because he sang little opera in US. I was lucky to see him in Cosi in a marvelous Deutsche Opera performance at the Kennedy Center in 1975.
This is how a first-rate lyric baritone should sound. McDaniel's sound was of course lighter than those of Warren. MacNeil, Milnes, Merrill. But not nearly as light as Hampson's. TH has plunged into the Verdi baritone roles, despite his unsuitable timbre. McDaniel -- who at his best sounded rather more baritonal than Hampson -- never sang any dramatic role.
