Hardest choice has to be picking your color. Dam this car looks amazing in every color. You did well in your options. Beautiful car worth keeping long term.
I'm an Italian sports car guy, so what do I know...but the C8 just looks like such a huge departure from what I'm used to in a Vette. When I see one, out and about, the first thing I think is "Camaro!" I just don't see the "Vette" in it, especially from the rear! Man, there's just so many different angels on this car.
Agreed. She’s hot. I ordered a ‘22 and the high wing spoiler and carbon fibre engine appearance were constrained. I did get the engine cover in red tint-mist however. Your black stealth looks great with the red belts. I went with the GT2 seats and Milan leather/elcantera seats and I am super happy with that. Either way, we are blessed to drive a car that many, many, other folks wish they could. You can see it in their faces. Cheers
I agree with you on all three options. 20/20 hindsight. No way you could've known about all the insane delays forecoming at the time. Could be added on later maybe, would be nice. The way your Vette sits right now it looks phenomenal regardless 👍
I’ve ordered a mist red tint coat exterior with black interior with yellow stitching and yellow belts match yellow brake calipers. Lighter colors can cause reflections from the dash onto the windshield which can be seen on the track camera also. This is the main reason I opted for black, so don’t feel too bad about it. The high wing I really wanted but is no longer available, so don’t feel bad about that either.
Our 2023 3LT HTC non-Z51 Arctic White with magnetic ride, front lift, performance exhaust, and carbon flash painted top, nacelles, low spoiler, intake blades, and wheels is the perfect car for us. We will never track it and it’s capable of more performance than we will ever need. Our 2nd Corvette and the best vehicle this 76yo has ever driven.
The 2-tone red and black seat are gorgeous. Of all you spoke about, that's the one. But your car is gorgeous, too! You really can't go wrong, it's a nicely optioned C8 supercar!
Just received my C8 last week. Torch red Z51 with dipped natural tan interior and exposed carbon fiber interior accents. Black floor mats with tan stitching and the polished metal corvette silhouette. It is absolutely beautiful! I realize that the natural tan interior can be a chore to keep clean, but this will not be a daily driver. However, you can bet I will drive it as much as I can. The only thing missing is chrome wheels, but they are on the way. WestCoast Corvettes takes the stock wheels (Tridents for me) and has them chromed for a very fair price. Also I installed ceramic brake pads to markedly diminish the brake dust compared to the stock pads. Very easy install. This car was well worth the more than one year wait!
@@doughooks7411 Absolutely no regrets. That combo looks awesome. Comes with natural colored floor mats that will look filthy in no time. I ordered black mats with accent tan stitching which works very well. Much easier to maintain. What ever spec you get, you are going to love this car.
@@z06doc86 Thank you, Sir! My C7Z is white with adrenaline red and has been no problem at all, but mainly because I have black carpet. We put WeatherTec mats in all of our cars. Looking forward to the new ride, but will keep my C7 forever! It’s a ‘16 with 5600 miles on it that I had a build done on back in May. It now has rear wheel 681/675. It is a monster! Thanks for the advice!
I’m sure you can change out everything you mentioned over the years of owning it. Swap seats or get they done at a shop, add carbon fiber, and like you mentioned swap the wing.
For me, the 2-tone red/black interior is a bit much. Love the red/black seats but not the red center console. Instead i'm opting for black with red stitching and red seat belts to compliment the black interior. Also, going with all black wheels and black high wing.
I'm a senior vette lover had em since a 64 ! Ordered last September Jeff Gordon Chevy. Gone for 2lt z51 torch red black int. Mag ride and lift and the stripes! Hope it pops! Also battery maintainer. Battery goes dead after 2 or 3 was without! Just my 0pinion most bang for the buck!
The CF seems overpriced for what it is. Company called ACS has both CF and ABS for rocker extensions, aero and mud flaps. I have heard the two tone does not last as well. You could also have gone for the natural seats and interior which looks quite amazing. There will be lots of great after market coming out.
I like the red interior also. Red G2 seats, Red seat belts, and the dash will be partly red. Getting the 2021 convertible that will be an LT3 with carbon fiber interior trim.

Your black leather on the interior may wind up being the best decision after all. I do like the GT2 seat option with the two tone, idea. I personally like the all black interior with the red belts. With regard to the high wing spoiler, that is superior to the Z51, which really doesn't look great at all. Deleting the high wing spoiler would have been a great idea, especially if you could get a credit for it. Pretty much all I use in my car is Android with the wireless. I thought that was included with the LT2. All in all, you make some great points. All of the things you went with , are the primary things that are really worth the money. If you stick with your C8, there will be options available to bring it up to the spec you want, from the aftermarket which is offering an incredible number of these things, right down to the custom air cleaner cover. Nice job of helping those of us who still don't have the car! It helps to hear your thoughts. A question I have would be - are you seeing enough chips in the front paint to consider a clear bra? I know the roads you travel, and the area of the country you drive are factors, but it is one of those things that it is tough to decide without driving a bit?
My toughest decision was color. I’ve had red twice, and I’ve had black and my current one is yellow. I thought a red grand sport with hashmarks got a lot of attention (2010), but my yellow (2016) is bonkers so I thought I wanted yellow again for 2021, but then it didn’t seem like I was getting a new car cause colors were the same so I thought white looks good cause the lines of the car show really well, but white just kinda blends in with all the other cars on the road soooooooooo rapid blue it is with black wheels…..I hope I made the right choice. The wait is pure torture and sleepless nights haha.
Yeah, I agree on your comments. I won't compromise on my car. I'd rather not have one if I can't get exactly what I want, like the items you mentioned. Probably why I still don't have one. I'd rather not have any regrets.
The only regret i got was not ordering the high wing that’s all, I ordered a torch red 2023 HTC LT1 with red interior, gray wheels whit the red circle and yellow calipers for just $75.5k and it looks amazing, i order after market side skirts, front lip defuser and a carbon fiber high wing for less than $900 and now im waiting to get them installed

Torch red /blk interior z51 fe4 1LT is my choice. Add whatever carbon fiber interior trim pieces you want from aftermarket if that is what you want.. yours looks nicely optioned and you can add whatever you want. The aftermarket tends to be higher quality and lower priced over time on carbon fiber bits and pieces and you can make your c8 a little more unique, good insights thank you
The GT seats suck for some people. they dig into my lats(I have a wide back and shoulders). I had a dealer employee who picked up a car out of state admit halfway through his drive he was done, same issue. I hope in the future they offer seats for people who pick up more than a pen and cell phone.
Can't understand why so many people opt for Z51 while only 5% ever track their car and for 2021 that is a $6k option and you really need the $1900 mag ride option if you go Z51. I have the two tone natural which I think looks much richer and expensive compared other choices. Goes with almost all colors. Natural Dipped is very Ferrari but looks luxurious.
Don’t get GM rockers or splitter, order aftermarket from ACS Composites much nicer and in carbon flash and for lower cost. I made this mistake,only to have pay again to get replaced.
I have mag ride on my 16 ATSV. its amazing ! Watch Randy Pobst video with Ignition or Road & Track on the Cadillac ATSV. Talks about how smooth it makes the bumpy corner 9 at Willow springs
I have mag-ride on my C7 - hands down the greatest thing ever on a vehicle. It can be a smooth cruiser or an on rails track weapon... truly amazing. I quickly got spoiled by the way you change the feel and response of the car by just twisting a knob.
The motortrend demo car(one of the first tested) was Torch Red with 3LT Adrenaline Red seats/ Jet Black interior/ carbon fiber interior package. I thought it looked amazing with the TR. That's the interior i did on my Arctic White. I debated Torch Red. Your black 2LT certainly will stand the test of time very clean as the interior is so much better on the C8. There isn't a bad color on this car as long as everything goes with it in the order.
All you're missing is the big rear spoiler......i feel that partial red interior would look tacky...the jet black seats and red belts are correct Maybe the red stitching ftw Unfortunately no manual option
Yes I agree with you 100%, I placed my order December 7th of 2020 . So since then I’ve changed my order at least three times. I’m even waffling on the color. But time is on my side since I’m probably about a year out. I decided on a nonZ51 car, I chose the convertible over the coupe 2LT, GT2 seats and front end lift. Red calipers. I’m still debating about mag ride. I am at $82,000 without Mag ride. Tough decisions all the way around. Ps. Great videos
Black seats with red stitching would be my choice and some carbon on the car. You still can make a ton selling the car and waiting for the ZO6. But I know it would be tough to sell after waiting so long. Aftermarket should help you out soon. Still a very nice car. Thanks for the updates.
your car is gorgeous and here in california its probably worth 20,000+ more :) i think a good upholster can make your dreams come true about your interior and i think you can pick up the red band that goes on your steering wheel for cheap...
Your interior looks great. Not sure the two tone does much for me after comparing the two. Do you still have your bike or did it get sold now that you have the new ride to occupy your riding time? Congrats on the beautiful C8!
Nice video, I have a 24 and I wish I had gotten the stealth interior but I'm not sure it's worth $500. I get alot of reflection from the speakers in the windows. Also, the phone charger is a joke. Cheers
I would definitely recommend adding two tone seats & a color Interior as solid black is bland. Also u get the strip on steering wheel which aids in track driving & looks also.
With regard to the engine appearance package, Eikon Motorsports is developing an engine appearance package and lighting package for the engine compartment. The company is based out of Arizona. They also sell "Lambo," doors for the C8 which make ingress and egress much easier. AF
Unless you plan to use PPF on it, the carbon fiber will chip and you'll not be able to repair it like the carbon flash painted trim. Agree that carbon looks better.
"Arrest me red" is beautiful but not for me. I'm waiting for the new 2021 order platform. I'm thinking of new silver, yellow/gray interior, maybe a yellow stripe, especially if it can be close to the C-8 R colors. Maybe yellow calipers. 2LT, ft lift but no Z51. Wing if available I'm sure some aftermarket outfits will come through. Bright silver tridents or stock silver??? Great video, thx, Tom
Beautiful car! My number is coming up soon, and I am opting for the torch HTC with body color accents. Doing body color top, nacelles, and high wing in torch also. I was initially leaning towards 3LT black interior with red top stitch, but now thinking naturally dipped. I am doing front end lift, Z51, mag ride. Thoughts on that set up? Thanks!
Yes, would agree with the two tone interior and the high wing. When I first saw my Z06 for sale on line, the Cybergrey color and grey spyder wheels with (owner installed) red highlights, caught my attention. I said to myself if it has a red interior, this is IT ( after looking for 2 years ). It does and I really like it. Agreed, all red is too much. Would the body color accents been another trim level ? I do think an all red exterior is gorgeous with the silver or grey wheels. Thanks for the update !
I love your build. I would spec mine much like yours. I also struggle with the red seat issue. I regret not getting the red seats on my C7GS but wonder if adding a C8 to the garage with the red exterior and red seats would be too much. I’d need to see it in person as well.
Agree..the z51 package is not worth the extra $$. $5K for 5 more hp. I would get the 2LT with some other options instead. Z51 is great if you track it, not daily or weekend warrior cruise. Everyone to their own.
I'm hoping for either a Elkhart Lake Blue C8 Z06 3LZ Z07 package . Tension blue Interior. If I cant swing that Elkhart Lake blue C8 Stingray 3LT Tension blue Interior Z51. Both with lift, engine appearance package GT2 seats
Thats easy, I give it more HP/weight ratio so it could break 4 seconds to 60 mph. Even a base model C7 is faster. Lets not forget HP results from a measured time to a distance. So the 495HP says the car can't break 4 seconds, measured by the dyno.

There are things like colored stitching for $400. I can't believe anyone orders their car with grey stitching unless it's purely about cost. Red stitching was $400 on the C7 and yet you saw 90% of the cars with grey stitching it's just stupid Thinking by dealers. With the C8 I think people were trying to hold down the cost so it makes more sense but I totally agree that the two tone interior would have looked really nice in your car. Hindsight is what it is you still have one! Enjoy
The red stitching without the red interior is only available on 3LT unfortunately. Otherwise I would've definitely done that. Not worth a few thousand though.
@@CarsCostsandTechnology wow seems like Chevy just tries to leverage small things into huge packages too much. On C7 it could be on any car. But the old farts ordering them would leave it off as an easy way to save 400 versus another dealer down the street. Meanwhile, you end up with cars missing very cool feature that is cheap... but sure can't be added later. They say they want a younger audience but then do dumb things like that. Glad they loosened up on front lift for 21 also. No z51 required now.
Why was it such a big deal that you get a 2020 and that you weren’t willing to wait for a 2021? Was just so you could say you got the first model year of the C8?
My allocation will be here next week, and I plan on driving it 3-6 months due to personal reason. Is there any configuration recommended, to reduce exposure, for resale since I’ll be selling within 6 months after driving it? I can only afford the 1LT so that’s a must. Color choices (exterior and interior), options, etc?
I will buy your z51 wing. I’m still waiting for my order. I did the 2 lt G2 seats red two tone. Also the exhaust Front end lift same wheels as yours. Torch Red exterior n red calipers ordered it last sept so it’s been a year it is at status 3000. So it should be built soon. When did you order yours n when did you get it I will send you a interior picture when I get it
I don’t regret: the transparent roof, the “mud” flaps, z51, the roof pouch and battery pack, the mag ride, the lift package, LT3 pack, black wheels and the Long Beach Red - so elegant. Kinda regret the Comp 3 Seats for my passengers. For me great but larger passengers struggle. So if you have big passengers on a regular basis go for the Comp 2 seats. Be cool if you could order side by side. Also the Natural Dipped interior is very light and prone to show all marks.
I placed an order this month but it’s not clear that is it wireless AirPlay or not, what Do you think I would expect as my dealer didn’t state about that option
