The PTM (Performance Traction Management) requires the Z51 option that includes the eLSD. Mag Ride alone on a base Stingray without the Z51 option will not provide PTM settings. For non-Z51 Stingrays, you can still launch the car in Sport or Race mode, but you cannot fine tune the Launch RPM and slippage %. Non-Z51 have LSD and not the eLSD required to fine tune the Launches. The default RPM when launching a non-Z51 is 3,500 RPM.
I had to trade my c6 corvette for a 4 door because i had a baby with my girl. Now I’m saving for a downpayment on a house but after that I want a c6 z06 or c7 z06.
I got a 1lt. The money u saved I put towards getting z51 never ever regretted it. It can daily it and it’s fine. The blind spots arnt the biggest deal if you have your mirrors set right. And every time I get seat heaters in a Chevy they barely work so not worth 9k. The hud is cool but meh
I know this is an older video, but I wanted to add that the targa I believe wasn’t available in the ZO6 original the L1 car. Targa was only available on steel frame C6s
I love my C8 Stingray... I'm retired, so no commute. It's a great car. Drive it as often as you can. Leaving it parked in the garage would be a shame. I live in Boise. Weather is the only reason not to drive it!
I am a super car enthusiast, and I'm about to start my own content. Please what are the do's and don'ts in automotive content creation more especially during shoots?
I second all his data. My C8 Z51 consistently hits 60 under the 3 second mark. It will also continue to rocket much faster if pressed. Lastly, the 30mpg is outstanding when cruising the highway 😊
The emira is better. It’s a true sports car. If it’s about being the fastest, get a certified Tesla Plaid. It’s about the driver’s experience. The corvette will continue to loose money year after year. The lotus is special.
so with esc off will the car get loose? like can you get the car to power oversteer? i was hearing that the c8 will not get tail happy at all even with all the electronic nannies off. i really hope thats not true
I have a C5 and a C7. The 5 is a modified manual trans 50th anniversary convertible. 450 hp at the rear tires is a blast to drive. Shutting down new Mustangs, Camaros and Mopars with a 21 yo vette never gets old. It is my daily ride. The c7 is a 2014 z51 Lime Rock Green automatic convertible. Unlike my C5, it is very civilized. I love both vettes for different reasons and uses. As a young man I had a C3 1969 convertible. I still appreciate the simplicity of the C3's. However the C5, 6 and 7 are my favorites. The progression of heritage in the body lines is so evident and gracefully beautiful in my opinion.
Having a C7 Z51 convertible a warning must be addressed. The corvette has a very low profile. Twice vehicles have not seen me as they actually looked over me. Both of these occasions were on city streets. One was a tow truck the other a one ton truck. Evasive driving and applying the horn got the drivers' attention. If they were going a bit faster I would have been T-Boned. And, yes, I was not violating any traffic laws.
I am going to live vicariously through you folks, my dealership is far too incompetent from the front door to the back door to take a chance. The lack of parts in case something did break, which will keep your car in the shop for weeks and or months It’s just not worth it to me. I’ll just drive mine like I borrowed it not like I stole it.
I paid $61K for my C8 LT1 direct from the dealer. I upgraded the rims, red cal breaks, red seats and red seatbelts. You do not need the lifter, the bottom of the car is an inch or more of plastic underneath it. You do not need any more than 10 Bose speakers in a coupe, the mirrors work just fine. There is no way the features in an LT2 that come standard are worth 8k. You arent getting any more car. Just some cameras and speakers. My dealership salesman still tells the story about me to this day the guy who stole a C8 off the lot for 61K plus taxes
Our 2023 3LT HTC non-Z51 Arctic White with magnetic ride, front lift, performance exhaust, and carbon flash painted top, nacelles, low spoiler, intake blades, and wheels is the perfect car for us. We will never track it and it’s capable of more performance than we will ever need. Our 2nd Corvette and the best vehicle this 76yo has ever driven.
My channel blew up 2 months ago to 158k subscribers, til this day im still in shock and some people even recognize me on the streets, keep on grinding your time will come!
Automatic transmission in a Corvette is an abomination. It comes down to whether you drive the car or it drives you. Wanna drive an automatic? Buy a Buick.
Convertible is the way to go. I placed my order mid-December of 2022. My dealer called me at the end of July 2023. I was informed at the end of july,2023 , that I would not be getting the 2023 that I had ordered. I was moved up to the 2024 C8 Corvette HTC. I have absolutely no regret buying it.
