The problem is they pay themselves before the bottom line and not after. It is a guaranteed way to end up short of money. Fuck that, pay your debts and then what is left over is what the owner should take their salary from. Idiot wanted to live the high life and killed a huge business.

@@supercarserious7489 oh yeah 100%. I'm just saying these things occur when people pay themselves non existent money, I've seen it a million times. Then they have to lie to buy some time, the money they thought was going to come in doesn't so they need to lie more to buy more time. It just spirals out of control from one customer out of pocket to then two and just balloon out of control. I have no sympathy for these people because like I said, you pay everyone owned money first and the owner gets paid last. I did this with my businesses and in the beginning there were times that I wasn't paid anything for week and month, working for nothing but a dream, because once you don't pay staff, clients, customers your business is done and this kind of situation occurs. The owner probably didn't adjust his salary down to account for covid/decreased sales, didnt want to adjust his life style to a pandemic and kept sending like there wasn't a problem until he could recover and this shit spiralled out of control.

I consigned my specialty car in 2019 to CNC. They didn’t tell me my car sold, a friend told me my car wasn’t at the dealership and when I contacted them they said “sold last night”. I was paid 20 days later and the check did clear. I was in conversations with CNC to bring two more of my speciality cars to CNC, (I have the texts) this was now a week and a half ago, I noticed my CNC contact (Joey) wasn’t returning my calls or texts so I looked up CNC for their main phone number line and just causally happened to click on reviews. My whole world exploded, I was literally hours if not minutes away of moving 2 cars there (valued in the 6 figure range), I cannot thank you and everyone enough for getting the word out and essentially saving me, this would have been a crushing blow for me that could’ve taken a decade to recover from. Wow, F#%* Speechless.

But there’s strength in a community even if it is under adverse circumstances like this. I feel CNC days are limited and the owners need to be held accountable. It’s an easy conclusion. CNC is a small business with no cash reserves. Cash flow is the life blood of a small business. When Covid hit, his reduced revenues/income could not cover his fixed overhead/debt. In simple terms, he was gradually going out of business. What little money that was coming in, Clay was using it to pay off debt that was necessary to keep the doors open. In other words, Clay was “robbing Peter to pay Paul.” Viewers ask “where’s the money?” Folks, it’s GONE. Clay is a broke man struggling to keep his head above water. It’s an uphill struggle, but I wish Clay well for ALL parties concerned.

@despencer8311 3 года назад
Crook N Cars or Crook N Customers. The internet is the first place you go look for info on a company that you are gonna deal with. So to answer the big question: Nope. Not ever. All the people are asking 2 very simple things that should be answered. Where are the bucks??? When are the bucks gonna be paid back???
@brandonbman5921
@brandonbman5921 3 года назад
Bucks? In his offshore account somewhere. Paid back? Baaaaaahahahahaha. If he was gonna pay it back he wouldn’t have ripped all these people off. He planned on running this scam till it was no longer working then filing bankruptcy. Unfortunately for him he never planned on (any) publicity. I hope he gets buried for this. Writing all those bad checks may be what gets him. If you *intentionally* pass a bad check here in Texas it’s a crime. Not a civil matter. And for that much money it’s a felony. He wrote those bad checks over and over concurrently during this time period so proving he knew that the checks wouldn’t clear seems fairly simple.
@despencer8311
@despencer8311 3 года назад
Yes my thoughts too. Only thing Clay is sorry for is that the power of the internet was greater than his Grand Theft Auto scam. He better be working on a new scheme of how to not drop that bar of soap.

Dan, thanks for publicizing this issue. It’s a horrible deal, and to think that CNC motors used to be a highly respected dealer. I know you mentioned in one of the videos in this series some discussion on Ferrari chat. I found one post on the general discussion thread and I was dumbfounded by the response on this issue by one of the moderators. This was the only thread I found on the issue though I didn’t go digging far. But I did look into the issue with the BBB, and wow. Also found a story from one individual, can’t remember where, that stated CNC sent a check to the bank to secure the lean release then put a stop payment order on the check. Long story short there are numerous complaints and an investigation on CNC motors going clear back to may of last year. My thoughts on the issue is this, not sure if any of the individuals have yet been made whole but I saw at least a dozen complaints. Where did the money go? What happened to the PPP money they secured because they got a hefty chunk? Not sure if they got the EDIL loans or not but if they did where did that money go? And finally where is the cash from the supposed sale of the building? He explained that a portion of that money was retained by the new owner for rent but where is the rest? And if it was this easy for me to find public information regarding CNC motors and potential fraud and an investigation in a few minutes how does this guy think he’s going to secure investors? Seems to me it’s like a sinking ship that’s just about to take a steep nose dive to the bottom of the ocean and take everyone in the vicinity with it. My honest gut feeling is a lot of people are going to be out a lot of money, with out their cars or both. And I have a hunch the owner is doomed to face felony charges of some sort. Is it possible that the guy really did get too big too quick and the pandemic bit him in the ass? Yeah but a good business owner would have self corrected way quicker. Here is an example. My wife and I planned to expand out business to add a third location last October. Because we provide a needed service we qualified for a economic development grant. However we had to finish the development, pay the contractors and materials in full before compensation from the grant. Once paperwork was finished we broke ground in January. We self financed with business capital and 0% credit cards. Everything was going great and on time. We had deposits an contracts to open the facility March 23rd. Then the country shut down. And because the facility hadn’t opened yet we didn’t qualify for a lot of the economic impact for COVID relief. But we still weathered the storm, refunded deposits and tightened our belts. The facility received its inspection finally In august and it opened. We just finished paying off those cards to keep the 0% and received our reimbursement. Oh yeah and the employees we had already hired, they all got paid from March to August. Because otherwise they would have gotten squat because they had just been hired a week before the lock down. Basically everyone got what we promised. We took a bit of a financial hit but would have been financially ruined had we not stayed the course and completed our obligations. I know this is a long reply but in short yes it was difficult, but we stayed in business and our business has not only increased but is now quite strong. The good news is not doing any discretionary spending didn’t hurt so bad because there was no where to go, nothing to spend money on. This guy could have weathered this storm too, had he been better at managing a crisis and money. What good is it going to do him if he stashed all that cash away somewhere and he goes to prison. Or even worse squandered the money and has nothing and goes to prison. And there are people on both sides of multiple transactions that are screwed as well. I agree with Dan CNC motors is a no go zone. Likely for good. I do hope these people are made whole one way or another.
@jibmaster

Dan, I have really admired your objective approach to this point. I am super thankful you are being 100% honest in your findings after more details have came out. Unfortunately there is a central theme to each individual that has had issues with CNC-Clay scams them! I watched that interview with Clay and the whole time I thought "this guy is so full of shit"!! This "poor me, I'm the victim" approach?! Are your kidding me?! It is disgusting to see a dealership do this so openly too. I feel for the poor people involved. I have always dug your channel man. This same thing happened here but with high dollar RVs being consigned. As it shook out the person that bought and paid for the RV got to keep it and received title. The thinking was the buyer was the only completely innocent party while the person who made a deal with the consignment lot made that lot his agent. You see this in other businesses that use agents like insurance and real estate. Even if a agent goes beyond the scope of his contract with a insurance carrier it’s likely the carrier would have pay a claim and then go after the agent to recoup the loss.

There are plenty of “good” upstanding dealerships but this situation is going to place a layer of doubt and concern for many of us who may consider consignment or a purchase from a smaller dealership. It’s not only bad for the seller but the new buyer has a car they either can’t register or was issued a fraudulent title and could be taken back. They may have a loan on the car too. Crazy situation for sure

Sounds like when the RV dealers are "Out of Trust" takes the new buyers trade in, sell them a new BIG RV $$ Motor Home and never pay the trade-off, Sell the Trade-in to another party leaving the buyer stuck with his old trade-in payments still on the books. Pretty much the movie "FARGO" scenario.

In Australia you go to a government site and you enter the VIN number of any car and it gives you it's history , owners , if there is debt attached to the car , amount and types of accidents so you can be sure you are getting the cars history and full title when you buy it . Don't they have a system like that in America ?
@normalguysupercar
@normalguysupercar 3 года назад
Nope. It's pretty stupid that they do not have something like that.
@christopherh2336
@christopherh2336 3 года назад
@@normalguysupercar wow . That's crazy . In Australia with this system if you buy a used car you can make sure the car isn't stolen , a repaired write off and if a bank is owed finance on the car you can pay the finance off and give the remaining money to the seller so you don't get caught in any situations like these poor people are getting stuck with . We also have a 24 hour " regret " clause that for ANY reason within 24 hours of buying a car you can regret the sale and cancel it . That removes hard sell techniques . Not saying people still don't get stuck with bad cars but if you do your homework it's pretty safe to buy a car .

@@normalguysupercar some people will honestly think they bought the car legally. Especially if the dealer sold it to them and for a below market price. Here's the lesson... if you feel that buying or leasing exotic cars mean that you "made it" or that somehow you're "successful" you'll end up losing a lot of money one way or another. Be like everyone else, have an old dirty circa 1984 Ferrari 308 poster on your garage wall right next to that old treadmill that doesn't get used anymore and drive a Chrysler minivan! Ain't no one ever gonna try to sell my Chrysler on consignment, not even worried.

My question is where are all the people who spent six figures on an exotic car that they can’t register or drive? Dan, have any of them reached out to you? If we don’t hear from one of them soon I suspect the cars have been sold and shipped overseas.

He planned on running this scam till it was no longer working then file bankruptcy. Unfortunately for him he never planned on (any) publicity. I hope he gets buried for this. Writing all those bad checks may be what gets him. If you *intentionally* pass a bad check here in Texas it’s a crime. Not a civil matter. And for that much money it’s a felony. He wrote those bad checks over and over concurrently during this time period so he knew that the checks wouldn’t clear making intent seem fairly obvious.

I want to believe that CNC motors is trying to do the right thing. My problem with giving them the benefit of the doubt, however, stems from their alleged repeated failure to notify the owners that their cars have been sold. Since the dealership has (what) 20 days to reimburse the owner for the sale it would seem that this is a stalling tactic. So long as the owner does not know that his car has been sold he has no expectations of prompt reimbursement. Secondly the repeated bounced and cancelled checks that people have reported are very troubling. This seems to be a repeated pattern with this company. Very troubling that almost all the stories detail almost the exact same scenario, delays, excuses etc. If I had a car on consignment with CNC right now I would demand to see the sales contract and name and contact information of the "buyer." Surely CNC has this information. I'm sure that these cars have actually been sold but, as they say, "trust but verify."

He has proven that the money coming into the business wasn’t assigned to the correct accounts. There needs to be an awful lot of gross profit per sale to meet the overheads of his business and make good to those already out of pocket if he isn’t going to misappropriate the new sales money.
