I'm no computer, but to my eye (about 1900 rated and familiar with the dutch) the opponents pawn on d5 hurt you a lot in the first game. It controls space in your territory, prevents you from advancing your e pawn, which in turn makes it harder for you to develop your dark-square bishop and went on to become the anchor of one of the greatest knight outposts I've ever seen. c6 gets rid of all those problems in a very straightforward way because it makes sure you get to trade away his annoying d-pawn.

At 28:40 the guy in the chat probably thought e4 (he said e5 but e5 is not possible black pawn is already on e5) after playing bishop captures Knight and white recaptures with a pawn (as an alternative to moving the Knight and attacking the pawn). Then if white captures the Knight with a pawn, black also captures the Knight with a pawn and it also attacks the bishop. If white continuous by capturing the b7 pawn (threatening the rook on a8), black captures the bishop on e2. Then if white takes the rook on a8 and promotes to a queen, black can play an intermezzo move pawn takes rook on d1 check (pawn promotes to a queen). After white captures the promoted queen, black has time to capture White's promoted queen on a8 and in the end of all of this black is a piece up.

An Alternative checkmate would be Na2+ , Kb1, Qxa3, h6 (instead of the natural h6, c5 would be the only move that doesnt lose the game), Kc3, Qxc3, dxc3, hxg5, Qb2#. All this is assuming Kb1, if Kb2 youll blunder your queen and knight. i could totally pull this off at my 900 rating lol

@Northernlion @18:32 You should play the classical dutch! Fianchetto the LSB and you can make a nasty attack on the white king side. Check out some of Ginger_GMs games (GM Simon Williams). He's a dutch expert.
