You're not wrong, it's scary! You can actually end up committing a greater offence than the criminal by defending your home! You're only legally allowed to defend yourself if your life is being threatened. I'm hoping to make a video that will make people aware they shouldn't increase the power or purpose of a paintball gun, and to stay legal 👍😎
@@TacticalMagfed By law, technically we're just shy of the "Castle Doctrine" of the US. In practice, however, defend yourself by yourself rather than calling the government and the government will screw you anyways. You'll be smeared in the media in an effort to render you unable to work, you will be prosecuted regardless of how correct your actions were to at least bankrupt you if not have you run out of money and end up in prison because you can no longer pay for an attorney.
@@spittertron4920 that sounds crazy! When it comes down to it seems to be we get out, wait for help or protect ourselves and take our chances in court. In the UK the media would support the home owner, unless you did something really crazy. But the courts decision would be anyone's guess!
Enjoyable video sir, very informative too. Was wondering when/if you are going to do a shooting video with the RAP4 ammo, I'm sure you mentioned doing one. I received my RAP 4's yesterday, but it's constantly raining up here, and I don't want to get my marker wet (T-15 DMR) so haven't had a chance to see what they can do. They are a tight squeeze in my Umarex HDS .68, which will be getting shot in my hallway tomorrow if it's still raining.......it will still be raining, Scottish weather :( I followed a video on YT on how to up the power on my HDS .68 to 16 Joules, with the rubber ammo it's incredibly powerful. I can't wait to try the RAP4 ammo in it. Keep the videos coming bud, there aren't enough British RU-vid channels that go in depth on paintball markers. Oh, also, about your home defense project, you might want to look into Grimburg ammo. American company, so shipping is very expensive, doubles the price of the rounds, though they look worth it, check out their YT channel. I would get some but i'm saving up for a full auto kit....there's something appealing about having a full auto paintball sniper rifle :)
Hi there, thanks for commenting 👍 you're right I shooting demos are part of my plans for the channel. I have had some issues getting approval from registered sites to both shoot videos and test non-standard rounds. I hope to have access to private land next year to set up a shooting range and demonstrate what the gear can do 😎 Be very aware of the gun laws in UK and Scotland. In Scotland there is an air weapons and licencing act too. Basically if you go above the power limits you can go into fire arms certificate territory and get into some serious trouble. I'm working on a project to highlight some of the limits to be aware of as I'm getting lots of questions about upgrades and home defense. Same with the full auto kit, some site will just not let you use it. It is legal to buy and fit but not to fire solid projectile only paintballs. It is a nightmare navigating all the legislation , I recommend caution if you are upgrading joules\FPS! Stay safe buddy and thanks for your support 👍😎
@@TacticalMagfed Yep, the rules for air weapons up here are annoying. Especially when you take into account I can purchase a crossbow, no questions asked?? It's the only reason I can't upgrade my Umarex TR50 revolver, if I did I would be breaking the law as it would be classed as a firearm. I looked into the HDS .68 before I upgraded it, it's not classed as a pistol and still fires under a certain fps so it's still legal. Though if I did use it with some........upgraded/homemade ammo in a self defense situation I would probably get in a lot of trouble, depending on the situation I mean. Though lets be honest, unless it's a life or death situation..........even if it is a life or death situation, they are more likely to throw the book at me than the "bad guy", as nowadays your not supposed/allowed to defend yourself. I purchased the RAP4 solid projectiles to help me zero in my scope as they apparently shoot similarly to first strike rounds, which are extremely expensive, so I thought it's better having reusable ones now, and using first strikes in mil sim events. The trick with the rap4 rounds is to fire at a soft target as they can crack. If you have some netting or similar behind a paper target they should drop to the ground and be reusable. Thanks buddy 👍😎 yeah the .43 paintballs are great for close quarters and room clearing. For more range you really want to use the powder balls, they have much greater range. Unfortunately they are hard to get hold of at the moment. Thanks for commenting 👍
Definitely, they are great for the .43 pistols. Production looks to have stopped during covid and if you can find them for sale they are expensive. Hopefully they will be more available in the new year 😎👍
Hi all just started playing with air guns more so with paintball markers but I'm clueless on the law here in the UK 🇬🇧 I have just got my self the hdr 50 7.5 joules what ever that means been told 7.5 is OK for that gun but I don't understand it all ..my question is umarex Have come out with a new gun the umarex hdx 68 pump shotgun and have it in 7.5 and 16 joules what I like to know is can I have the 16 joules one in the UK or will I get in trouble having the 16 joules 🇬🇧 and all so with paintball markers is it OK to use rubber balls in the UK with the paintball gun I'm desperately need the right answer as I don't want to be in trouble with the law or fancy going prison lol ..so is it OK to gave the 16 joules ..umarex hdx pump shotgun...and can you use rubber ball in paintball markers ?? Or is it only just paintballs hope you can help thanks
Hi, this is a big subject and I probably can't answer everything 100%. I'm not a legal expert so make sure you get the best advice possible before you do anything. As far as i'm aware if you can purchase it from a legitimate shop in the UK it should be legal to own. If the shop owner will not sell it to you without a licence UKARA for airsoft gear or firearms certificate for air powered guns over the required limits. However the power of the paintball marker\pistol\shotgun is one thing. The fact is that it is being sold as a paintball marker or training tool depending on what you get. If you are going to shoot anything other than paintballs you will need to be very careful as this is where it gets very complicated. Technically as soon as you fire a solid projectile it's no longer being used as intended. Fireing rubber balls at targets with the 7.5 joules pistols should be ok. I'm not sure about the 16 joules versions you would need to calculate the muzzle velocity of the rounds (the heavier they are the higher it will be) if you do step into FAC territory then you would indeed be breaking the law. Nice. I had problems with my t15 pdw leaking after back and forth with their tech guys and buying all sorts if extra parts (everything to rebuild the all guts) it kept leaking so i got rid of it and wont buy any fs markers again. For the price they should work. Ive spent a ton at mcs (rap4) and never had a problem with anything ive bought from them.
Hi buddy, tactical teddy is an awsome name 😎👍 It really seems like FS miss the mark sometimes. My gen 4 has been flawless but I do get comments from others about issues like yours. I'm suprised they didn't just replace it if it was that bad. I would like to get my hands on the MCS 438 and see how it handles. The anti ball drop on their markers is a great idea too. @@TacticalMagfed yeah mine was a gen 1 and i knew going into it the marker was high maintenence and my ocd likes breakin down and cleaning and mods but the marker never worked in the field for more than 10 mins at a time so i couldnt hang with it.
@@TacticalMagfed i havent tried the mcs 468 line simply because i got the the t15 first and after didnt want to spend even more on another high end marker when the conversion kits are fractions of the cost and ive got plenty of x7s and salvos to upgrade. Plus fs disappointed with saying drum mags then ops no drum mags.
@@tacticalteddy5556 yeah I put off getting a T15 for ages based on the negative feedback of the early gen versions. I only have good things so say about the gen 4, hasn't let me down yet 😎
@@tacticalteddy5556 the upgrade kit are great my blizzard kit is a beast. The only thing that bugs me is the clam shell and stripping it down. The X7 kit would strip down easier. The FS drum mag is the magfed unicorn 🦄 not sure we will ever see it 😎

Hi there, this is a great question. There is no straight forward answer. It depends on what the legal restrictions are where you live. For instance if pepper spray\balls are legal where you live (definitely not in the UK). They may be useful and accurate at close range. In terms of potential stopping power I would say no in my opinion due to the lower power for training purposes. Don't get me wrong they are not toys and should be used with caution, but they wouldn't stop a determined attacker. I'm getting a lot of questions on this subject so I'll look to cover it in a video.
