My pancreatic cancer story: Claire Barnes

*I have just started a 12 cycle course of Folfirinox chemotherapy for my Pancan, I really don't believe I will be here in 12 months time, but I'm ready for whatever life brings God bless to all people who are suffering.*

My mum, Trix, died from Pancreatic cancer in 1985. Mum had not been feeling great for awhile from stomach ache and was back and fore to the doctors over a period of a few months. She eventually was sent to the hospital for tests and was told her colon had narrowed and she would need a small operation. While my mum was on the operating table her bowel had burst, flooding her body with poisons. The found a large tumour on her pancreas, the cancer has also spread around the outside of her bowel and was also found in her liver. The surgeon said this is why it was never picked up from the tests she had had done. He said, he thought the tumour had been laying dormant on the pancreas for around a decade. Mum never recovered at all, she was bedridden for most of the next 4 months before she died. It was awful seeing her suffer so much and losing so much weight. I wished she had died on that operating table as they had fought hard to keep her a live, I wish they hadnt.

Drs need more training for signs to look for in this Cancer! Fobbed off and poor soul died and left 2 young boys so tragic.

I'm just bawling my eyes out for a stranger and her loved ones.

My favourite uncle died of Pancreatic Cancer when he was just 48 (I was 14). That was in October 1991. It’s shocking that, all these years on, not much has changed!! Claire has been an amazing friend to Andrea. We all need a Claire in our lives.

I was just informed yesterday evening that I have “a mass” on my right breast, my liver, my pancreas and my rib on my back….nothing confirmed except that they are all clear, defined masses and not abscesses….my white blood cell count is sky high at almost 106,000……the pain I’d pretty bad….I went to urgent care because I’ve been putting it off for about a month….I’ve just had a “feeling” that I need to just go, and couldn’t get in w my primary care Dr with Covid numbers rising…..I went by myself, never expecting this…..I’m a nurse, so I’m pretty logical, and I just have a feeling that this is gonna be bad….I’m a wife and a mom to an 11 year old daughter. I’m scared. I’m always the “tough” one. Always the one that says, we will figure it out….this time, I’m scared……

When my husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, The scans showed that it was a mass the size of a walnut in the head of the pancreas. But it heads bread into the beginning of the duo denim (The tube that runs from the bottom of the stomach and becomes the beginning of the small intestine). He was admitted into the hospital and had a so-called Whipple procedure. By an excellent oncologist. About six months later the cancer returned but it wasn’t showing up on scans until about the ninth month. It returned in the paratonia cavity and spread throughout his body. He was diagnosed in December 2016 and passed away in May 2018. I don’t know of anyone who survive pancreatic cancer. Tell everyone you know even if they’re not suffering from any ailments, you start having digestive problems you start having stomach problems and the doctors are saying it’s acid reflux, it’s an ulcer, don’t stop there! Go and get a pancreatic scan! Get a pancreatic scan, I can’t tell you enough if he would’ve had this skin earlier they would’ve found it much earlier. but they didn’t, they kept saying it’s this and it’s an ulcer and it’s death and here take this and take that and all the medication they had a minor on commercials now cause cancer!! Ask for a pancreatic scan ask for a full body check every inch of every one of my organs and at least rule that out! It’s your life, your time is limited if something is growing in you don’t wait to find out what it is, stay diligent go to different doctors go all over the place I want this scan I want the scan I want these things scan because if there’s something there I wanna know early I want the scans and get those scans however you gotta do whatever you gotta do to get them get them! Otherwise you will not get your pancreatic scan and find out you have it until you’re already jaundice and it’s most likely already spread outside of the area, being pretty much too late. My husband had excellent insurance but we didn’t no to have that organ scanned. My husband regretted that Whipple procedure because it left him mangled inside in constant pain extreme extreme cramping trying to digest foods to eat it when he regretted it took up so much of his precious time that he had left, but hindsight is 2020. Then to top that off, the chemo doctors didn’t want to give him his chemo he had to go to someplace else to get He has chemo, he wasted precious months fighting just to get chemo. Then on top of that he could barely tolerate it. We extensively researched the most latest options and offered them to hos oncologist to try out on him. Gaviola, a holistic product that helps fight against cancer. Also fenbendazole, also known as safeguard you give for dogs goats for deworming has shown to fight against cancer. It’s safe for human consumption. Sounds like this lady in the videos friend is pretty much like my husband suffered all of that horrific pain a lot of that comes with the Whipple procedure! The Whipple procedure does buying more time, very little and you spend all of that time in pain in in and out a doctors opposed to just going early and I’m passing away early and not going through all that. It’s a persons choice that the doctors don’t tell you! As far as I know, nobody survive pancreatic cancer for very long! It’s finally great to come on RU-vid and see a pancreatic cancer story that tells the truth! Tells the whole story that the person passed away. I can’t tell you how many stories about cancer I’ve seen in and listen to on RU-vid where they do not tell you the end result! People need to know the truth and the end result of their pancreatic cancer. this is so important for families with loved ones with pancreatic cancer specially when they have children, these people need to be prepared for the worst rather than sugarcoated along being tricked into believing that their loved one is going to fight this and live. Also, when your loved one seems to be so-called asleep or unconscious before they die, when they they’re in that state, they can hear you they can still feel and hear you! How do I know this? Because we found that out when I screamed out my sons name and my husband opened up his eyes and knew what was going on moments before he passed. So when the loved one gets in that state in bed where they seem to be unconscious or so-called asleep they can hear you and they can feel you! Talk to them play their favorite music that they loved rub their hands put Chapstick on their lips all of these things, comfort them they can hear and feel! Also, get your videos of your loved one get your audio tapes of your love one so you can always hear their voice you can always see them. The saddest part for me was not only did I lose my wonderful husband, but his only son was here to watch his dad pass. It’s been devastating on him. I lost my mother-in-law seven months later and my dad a year after that 😭

It must have been painful for you to do this, however, you may have helped many, many people who have seen this and can identify with the symptoms. Greetings from The US. I lost both my maternal grandmother and my mother to pancreatic cancer. I often feel I have a hereditary arrow pointed at my pancreas. Knowing what it was like to watch my grandmother and mother lose their battles to this terrible disease, my heart goes out to you. I pray that more effective treatment and, even better, hope for taking pancreatic cancer into remission for those who suffer with it. May God give you comfort and peace.

My dad passed from pancreatic cancer but they didn't see anything until they did an exploratory operation this was long ago in 1964 we were devastated but the symptoms came on guickly and nothing helped the pain.

Terribly sad indeed. So sorry for your friend. I was diagnosed Christmas eve 2020 with Ampullary tumour. Was offered whipple procedure and with that I made the assumption I had Pancreatic cancer. My surgeon explained technically not pancreatic cancer but the treatment is the same. I feel so lucky to survive. Through researching I discovered that 50% of people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer don't get the enzymes to help digestion. They are literally left to starve to death. Shocking in this day and age!

I’m fighting to get a diagnosis. When 2nd MRI radiologist in 6 months says “can’t rule Out malignancy” I think it speaks volumes IMHO. I am unique, had Re wired digestive system in 2002 due to duodenal switch bariatric surgery . Dr who did Endoscopic ultra sound 6mo. Ago stopped short of pancreas head. OMG. Why did we even run this test?!! I have people who depend on me. I can’t afford to be sidelined or un-living.

The trouble with pancreatic cancer is it’s very much like the ovarian cancer that took my beloved mommy. It’s misdiagnosed and it mimics so many other health conditions. Plus it’s super aggressive and spreads very quickly. The vast majority of people get diagnosed when it’s already way advanced and if they do get diagnosed early then it tends to be by pure luck. My poor mommy started with vague symptoms in the late part of 2016 and it was already advanced by the February 2017. 😢

I lost my grandmother, an aunt, and a uncle to pancreatic cancer.

Wonderful friend and Andrea left no stone left unturned and died fighting. She tried everything. Pancreatic cancer is a quick killer and I don't know why they have not found better and new treatments to at least buy people more time.

Try the first test is to do a ultra sound of the pancreatic, it positive C.T scan that i s how mine was ducted, in the stage one grade two, having only the operation no chemo, or radiation.

Another thing: sociaized medicne has it's draw backs because the docs want to save the system money, and want to avoid doing the worst part of the job, giving termanal diagnoisis, in my opinion?

This paticular cancer is like a freight train and some are like a kiddie train, that goes around a zoo.

If you think about it majority of human population has chronic inflammation that leads to some form of illness either heart attack, diabetes, alzheimer and cancer. In many cases cancer patients say that no one in their families had cancer, they ate healthy and yet they got cancer. Then they go through the radiation in order to save their lives. Some die regardless, but there is a number of patients who report after couple years that their cancer spread to other parts. Cancer is not a bug or virus, it cannot spread. It requires favorable conditions like inflammation to develop. Cancer treatment focuses on symptoms, it doesn’t resolve underlying condition. It never does and it never will. Eliminate inflammation that leads to cancer. Inflammation is caused by food, sugar, starches, and all forms of carbohydrates including fiber. These things do not belong in human digestive tract. Red meat, fat, fish, eggs, butter are non inflammatory foods.

This poor women is a bit slow? did she think her friend was going to get younger and better looking?

@Linden Oh My Goodness Linden. ❗❗ I hear your story. So so so sad. You are so correct. My friend had a mass blocking her intestines. She was throwing up regularly -- couldn't hold food down as much & had Stomach pains for days. Her doctor said she had diabetes & was taken many diabetes medicines, for high blood pressure too & Dr. gave her that freaking "Metformin" medicine that MANY doctors now say that metformin is NOT 🚫 good for diabetics at all & she had bad side effects from Metformin. & Metformin was also called back a few years ago for having cancerous materials in that medicine. My friends Dr. Also told her to take "Ozempic" meds (a Fluid injection medicine in her stomach) Her Dr. said take it to loose weight. My friend was a healthy looking 170lbs. & She lost weight & went down to ONLY 60lbs. LISTEN PEOPLE if anyone is having in the beginning digestion problems swallowing food (acid reflux) etc. THAT'S A BIG SIGN -- GO GET IT CHECKED OUT don't wait any longer. And some of these Doctors really don't help. -- all they do is give U pill, after pill, after 💊💊💊 & never fix the problem. They KNOW these pharmaceutical companies produce these meds knowing good & well, its just a band-aid to their illness & these patients will be taking these meds for the rest of their lives w/No cure. My Friend FINALLY found out she had 4th Stage Pancreatic Cancer too too late ((After all of her suffering & Pain) & NOT being able to hold down food. She was in the hospital for a Few days & they sent her HOME. She just DIED this week on June 10th 2023. Any surgery dealing w/cutting the intestines, stomach, removing cyst, etc. & Especially getting Chemo therapy -- usually ends up Not good & you eventually DIE. Doctors, people be True to your patients & STOP 🛑 Freaking sugar-coating info. to family members, friends & your patients. My Sweet Friend is now GONE from pancreatic CANCER, which was FINALLY diagnosed way, way, way, too late. And Linden, I Thank you for your comment above & telling your truth & so so sorry your Husband passed from this detrimental illness.
