I get what he saying... You can love someone and it be like BLAH.... But when you really like them like them(like being around them, like talking to them, like your conversations) it hits different. You have family you love but don't particularly like them. Or you can like someone at the beginning which gets you to loving them but over time you stop liking them and only stay because of the love... but when you love and like someone it's a whole nother level

I understood him too My parents were separated and my Mom would say “I love your Dad but I don’t like him”. She truly did love him but they couldn’t be together because she didn’t like the person he became throughout the years.

No you do have to like them to put up with them and then love is just beyond. Dad is right. And yes lots of patience cause if you dnt like her cooking and she dnt like his shewing and ya still together theres alot of something there.
