Honestly, renovating is worse if you do it yourself. We have 3 bathrooms in the house, a downstairs, an upstairs and an upstairs en suite. The en suite was easy as we (my parents and i) retailed the whole bathroom took out the toilet and kept the shower, put in anti fog mirrors, new counter top and LEDs, though part was then blocking off the toilet pipe from the main pipe. The main bathroom needed a new toilet system, a new bathtub/shower combo new counter top and new everything basically. Had a hard time fingering the layout. Downstairs toilet was a pain, use is small and only had a sink and toilet, but it also had the breaker system that was being rewired due to other renovations going on at the same time (the entire downstairs - living room, kitchen, hallway + stairs and upstairs hallway). So mu h stress too since we were doing majority during lockdown and had to cook more of our food in an air-frier in the conservatory during last years UK heatwave.
