My first ever perfume was a Mary Kate and Ashley one, omg I can still smell it in my mind today 😭❤️ My FAVORITE perfume in the world is Tocca’s Graciella, which they broke my heart by discontinuing 💔 gorgeous lily and pear scent. Love to see another perfume fanatic 😌
My favourite perfume is Tom Ford Black Orchid but my most cherished is Lacoste Touch of Pink which still transports me back sixteen years to my wedding day. I made a point of never wearing it before the day so that the scent memory would always be linked with that. I didn’t have it for years after the original bottle ran out. I bought a new bottle around our fourteenth anniversary and it immediately took me back there. It’s a very summery floral which isn’t my usual thing but it just smells like pure distilled lovey and happiness to me every time I wear it.
Yep your wedding memories I can't wear mine since my divorce might always be one I avoid, but maybe I can re associate it to my next great memories. I like really along myself Chantilly lace on I got from my mom early in my perfume journey. . now I like fresh clean scents, and love tropical scents I have a fave body mist, by pure romance that I love itsabout to be discontinued. It's the Capri scent. 💔 I have 3 bottles..left
The term for the feeling that precedes a migraine is an aura. I learned about it when I developed epilepsy in my teens: some people who have seizures or migraines get a “warning” before an episode. For some it’s a taste, a smell or a ringing in the ears. For me, my aura was a really weird feeling in my head like it had water sloshing about in it.
Yes, auras can be so weird! For me it’s usually visual, like flashing stuff before my eyes or once I actually went blind for an hour before a migraine attack, it was scary as hell but it was just aura!
I don’t get auras for mine , my doctor says most don’t , so to anyone reading : Just because you aren’t experiencing a so-called aura , it doesn’t mean you’re not having a very real migraine or other neuro response . I couldn’t enjoy truly exploring fragrance for years until I got some treatments to keep my migraines tolerable , this is my first year getting back into scents and being able to test things with out worrying
More perfume content! This was so interesting to watch, I'm taking notes! I've been interested in Guerlain perfumes lately, I've tried their green tea one and it was super fresh and leafy if that makes sense? I found a dupe for it at Yves Rocher tho, the scent doesn't last as long but still great!
You are always amazing Lauren I bet your perfumes always smell amazing even though I never had a sense of smell you always have awesome taste in perfume love you Lauren love you and your videos
I like hearing you talk about things you like. My favourite perfume is Miss Dior, both my sister and ex wears it so that’s a little weird but oh well it’s quite a popular scent.
Admittedly I usually just smell like deodorant or soap (or sunscreen in the warm months!) but I'll take notes, see what I can do. 🤔 😉😂 Watching it all anyway because it's you and we're all about supporting your channel here! 😊
As a french person, I can feel the struggle of reading our language and I absolutly get it. For example, the "t" at the end of "nuit" is silent same for "l'interdit"
My favorite perfume is Givenchy L'interdit. It lasts on me like crazy and it hits all the tingly spots in my brain when I smell it. Other perfumes that I love are Just Rock by Zadig& Voltaire, Mademoiselle by Chanel. Those are the perfumes I've had several bottles of. The one I'm currently using the most is Lazy Sunday Morning by Maison Margiela and I love it. It surprised me since I've never really gone for something quite so soft before. What I don't like are perfumes that are very heavy on the rose scent. I've discovered that I don't like the smell of roses after I bought a bottle of rose water a few years ago and I thought I had bought a bottle that had gone off only to have my mom tell me it smelled fine. And one I dislike is Bitter Peach by Tom Ford (which I thought I was going to love more than Lost Cherry, funny enough).
So excited to watch this !!! Literally my only RU-vid subscriptions are tattoos and perfume related😂😂😂 I did a true double take seeing this , I’m delighted !!!
My 2 top favourites : Nuxe Prodigieux absolu de parfum & Cardamome coffee from Lush/Gorilla perfumes My 3 & 4 top favs : L'Occitane Néroli & Orchidée & Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet And then Lady Million and One Million from Paco Rabanne will always have a special place in my heart (especially One Million, one of the best scent ever created !), Love your vids, I'm happy you opened a second channel 🤩
Totally get this reaction to a spray. Headache, drowsy, dizzy. Someone in my house used this. Reaction every time 😬 I’m hypersensitive to smells and also get irritated skin around them. Also had sensitive skin since being a child Once I walked into Body shop to find soap for a gift and walked out with red hands!
Hell yes. I love to see perfume collections🥰 so excited to see what scents you like My signature scent has to be Delina by PDM. I normally dont like roses in my perfume but this one is so stunning. My least favorite has to be Baccarat Rouge🙈 I would love to love it but Im one of the unlucky people who can only smell the medicinal parts of it so it makes me really nauseas. To me it smells like the taste of having the dentist rubber hand in your mouth at a dentist appointment
Yes Baccarat smells like band aids to me, I tried very hard to like it, but whenever I wear it, it just isn’t me, smells to medical to me like a hospital, so weird
i’ve never been into perfume, i’m a cheap spray from target kind of girl- but my grandma used the jovan musk in the orange packaging her entire life and whenever i smell it i think of her
If you like the gourmand, powdery scents (like Dior Hypnotic Poison, which I got my first bottle in 1999) you’d love Juliette’s Got A Gun “Not a Perfume”. It’s actually just a molecule. But it SMELLS SO GOOD!! And Jean Paul Gaultier the pink bottle shaped like a lady. It’s soft and powdery as well.
A little late to the party but if I'm going to listen to a video about perfumes, I'm glad it's Lauren. I can remember getting dizzy from smelling one of the Marc Jacobs' perfumes (they're great but a little too sweet for me); maybe I should take your advice and spray it on perfume strip. I've been gravitating towards musky/spicy/sassy scents lately (thanks to one of my favourite perfumes, Paco Rabanne's Black XS). Not only are we learning about all of Lauren's fav perfumes but we get educated also...HERE FOR IT! Speaking of rich, Lady Million reminds me of that one family friend who is always super friendly, insists that you should visit but really doesn't care if you don't and never gave you their address to begin with. Not weird at all; I think it makes sense to give perfumes a personality. 👂, did you say wood😍? One moment please🏃🏽♀️. Oh my gosh, I am a HUGE DKNY fan. FINALLY! Ariana Grande's Cloud is so cute (I think I smelled it once). Mariah Carey's M perfume is my favourite celebrity perfume, lasted for days, even after the wash. Stop it with wood mentions, Lauren😭; I will actually consider every perfume that has a wood tone to it. Before I forget, thank you for the video🤍.
My favorite perfume is the Dolce Gabbana Pour Femme Intense Eau de Parfum. I remember my sister bought it years ago, and I fell i love with the smell, it was just gorgeous!
YAAAASSSSS COMMODITY perfumes are amazing!!! I bought the library (basically samples of allllll the scents) years ago ... talking pre-TikTok! Now can only get online. For years I have loved NEST in Black Tulip. Always get compliments on it.
I enjoy perfume but got out of the habit of wearing it due to first working in a scent-free office and also with the public as a professional children's face painter. I prefer the light, crisp florals -- they work best with my chemistry. My nose likes your taste in perfume, they just smell like crap if I try to wear them. My favourite perfume is "Summerhill" by Crabtree & Evelyn. I also have their "Pear & Magnolia". I used to wear a vanilla hazelnut oil and my ex smelled divine in Egyptian Musk. It really is wild how scent connects to memory. My father wore Skin Bracer by Mennon my whole life (a green, lime-y kind of aftershave), so I can't smell that and not be reminded of him. Very oldschool
I really enjoyed this video! I too love Black Opium and finally bought abig bottle. I also really like Midnight fleur by Nest (sounds like it would be flowery but it's more sweet in my opinion, really can't describe it however), Vanille Abricot by Comptoir Sud Pacifique (very sweet, very vanilla, lasts all day), and Pink Sugar (Vanilla/cotton candy, cheep department store perfume but it brings me back to my teen years). Because of this video I will be looking into Dior Hypnotic Posion, sounds like something I would be into, cheers!
I’ve also found that the Scentbird perfumes evaporate quickly. So even if you don’t recall using it that much. It’s because they evaporate out of those little bottles.
Mine all time favorite is from the Dior Poison line too’ but it’s the Dior Pure Poison. I got it from my mom at 15 on my birthday and I always have it even if I try new ones that smell feels so much like home for me 🖤💜 Not a lot of people wear it, even tho The Dior Poison line been out for ages I guess it not as popular now days. But yeah it’s just so so elegant and nice I love it 🤍🤍🤍
I watched til the end I thoroughly enjoyed this . I would even love to see a more in-depth of your current top 5 or something. With all the fragrance content out there, I quite appreciate a look into a more realistic collection like my own , I’m a huge scent lover , but don’t have hundreds of bottles. I find it fascinating to hear what smells people like and truly like wearing . Idk is that weird ?
My absolute favorite perfume of all time is shalimar by guerlain. I'm already on my 6th bottle right now haha. I don't like the initial scent but it develops into the most gorgeous rich vanilla scent that lasts forever
Francesca Bianchi Under My Skin is amazing, it's animalic yet cosy and also a bit spicy. (Bianchi is my favourite perfumer and her perfumes are in extrait de parfum concentration, so they are very long lasting)
On the note of Baccarat, Lauren you might want to look into the company's history before purchasing from them. They are not great people and it's a dark, dark rabbit hole you can go down. But on a happier note, I love scents. Especially warm, smoky and heavy ones. Almost all of my perfumes have patchouli in it, and those who don't have musk or amber or vanilla in it. They lean from lighter to quite heavy, and some are quite masculine leaning. One of those has a bit of a smokey forest feel to it - it's Sinister Doom by Teufelsküche. A lighter one is Lost Dragon (patchouli with dragons blood (from the tree), "Sweet blood" which is pure sweet patchouli and Batcave, which is patchouli with black orchid, ylang ylang, fresh bergamot and black currant. Another favorite is Messiah, which is patchouli with opium. I buy a lot of my perfumes from there because they're only like 15-16€ per bottle and they are the scents that I love. As for more expensive things, I quite like Dior Poison and Midnight Poison, but I don't own any of those myself (yet?). Another thing I'd love to splurge on, but haven't yet because of international shipping, is scents from Black Phoenix Alchemy Labs. I could scroll to their site, just nod and say "yes please, those."
Regarding the Cinderella perfume: I think I had the same one. If it was the one from the mid-to-late 90s, it was a part of a line from the Disney Store based on different Disney princesses. They all had really cool and unique bottle designs. I think Cinderella was tall and square. My favorite was Ariel and I'm ALWAYS on the lookout for things that smell like that. I think there's a candle that is pretty close that I found at Target that was labeled as having the scents of pear and water lily. And I've found other pear-scented things that are similar so I'm pretty sure that's the direction I would want to go to find something that smells similar. That's amazing that someone else had and knew about those Disney kids' perfumes!!
Marc Jacobs Daisy Love and Nest Indigo are my favorite perfumes. I don’t wear them too often though. I have a lot of body sprays from Bath and Body Works that I wear more frequently.
I completely agree with your opinion of the Kayali Vanilla! I love vanilla fragrances but a lot tend to smell cheap. Not this one. It's sophisticated & complex. It's my favorite perfume. I also love Eden & I suggest you layer them. I get compliments every time I wear them together. When you mentioned Tommy Girl I was immediately transported back to high school in the late 90s! That was my go to perfume back in the day. 😆
Enjoyed that. I collect fragrances too. If you like cherry as a note then I recommend trying Cherry Punk by Room 1015. It’s unisex and one I really enjoy.
Someone once said to me, if u can't smell ur perfume on urself that's the right perfume, if u can smell ur perfume its not right for u. I go by that now, i have brought perfumes thinking i really like it, it does end up giving me headache, My favourite perfumes are from lidl x
I picked up bottle of unopened 'Betty Boop, 'Boop Oop a Doop ' from a charity shop and to my surprise find myself loving it and reaching for it as a day perfume. A little spicy and mildly warm, not to heavy but with the deeper notes I like
im very very sensitive to fragrance (scentsitive, if you will) so usually i just smell like me, or my deodorant. but ive gotten compliments that i smell good, so ive never really thought about using perfume. but honestly, your passion for smells is making me kinda want to try.... edit: omg i forgot. when i was younger i would use febreeze spray on myself for fun. wtf
Omg I’m exactly the same with scents. Collect perfumes, incense, toiletries, wax melts, zoflora. Love it. I had that diesel perfume when I was young too! My favourite has to be Chanel coco mademoseille. I love angel too!! But not aura. Agree that alien has become far too common. I actually think black opium is my least favourite.
Ha! After watching halfway thru… we clearly have the same taste in Parfum!! ❤️❤️❤️ I made a comment 15 minutes ago or so, and you’ve got 3-4 that I have and there are 24 minutes left!
My first perfume was Exclamation. 😅My favorite perfume is Gypsy Water by Byredo. My favorite discontinued perfume is Hilary Duff With Love. That one was a woodsy dream.
Yessssss perfume is the BEST! I just found a perfume podcast a couple months ago called Now Smell This that I think you'd like- not sponsored, never met them, just think you'd like it! I wore Cool Water Woman in high school and Chance in college and those two always take me back. My current favorite is Vaara by Penhaligon's- it's a juicy rose and I keep grabbing it every single morning after being on and off with it for years.
I laughed when you asked what our favorite perfumes are😂 and then you said your least favorite is angel from thierry mugler. That is my favorite😂😂 always get alot of compliments when i wear it
@@mjb6442 nooo fuck off.p( not literally, I just tell everyone that ) Your having me on. is it really? My mom stole my other signature scent so I know she won’t spend the 113$ Canadian for it
Absolutely loved this. My favorite perfume is probably Girls Can Do Anything by Zadig&Voltaire, and if I want something a bit lighter I tend to go for Wood For Her by Dsquared.
My all time favorite perfume is Chanel No. 5. I like a variety of scents and have had a lot. My least favorite is anything by Gaultier. I can spray it on and it seems nice but within five minutes it smells so horrible on me that I have to go wash it off. This was a fun video. Thanks!
Oh - how I thought to hate this for yeeeaaaaars….. My mum used to own a bottle which had gone off. I did not know then that this can happen but hated the smell of course… years later someone urged me to wear it (a saleswoman who knew me well) and what do I say - I get the hype now and I looooove it 😍
I usually just use a body mist rather than perfume but my everyday mist is Impulse Tropical Beach + Espresso.. When I'm feeling a bit more elevated in my appearance, I'll wear Victoria's Secret Love Spell and when I'm feeling very fancy and going on a date or a special occasion, I'll wear Chanel No.5.. 😊
I really enjoyed this collection video 😊. Ive also been sucked into the perfume yt and tiktok world lately and its really addicting in a way. Every sniff is abit like a jurney. Stimulating memories and fantasy. Some good perfumes i really like are Sun and Karma by Lush 😁
My favorite is not a perfume per se, it's a perfume oil but I feel like you'd also enjoy Burke & Hare Co.'s Velvet Woods, it's unfortunately a winter scent for them so I'm not 100% sure you can get it at this point in time
I don't own any nice perfumes (would love too but they can get expensive lol) but I've definitely experienced the perfume + body chemistry thing! Was and bath & body and found this spray that had a very nostalgic smell to it and bought it. After I got home and sprayed it on me omg it had that old lady perfume smell too it!
my fav one is rebl fleur from rihanna. i smelled it as a teen and never could forget how good it smelled to me. i finally got it for a gift a while ago. now on a mission to find a nice cherry perfume.
First perfume I remember I got for valentines? Beat by Rimmel. I went through a few bottles of that! Does anyone remember the Kate Moss perfumes? I had that too…I had the body lotion of velvet hour and I brought it to work and everyone went crazy for it. Lancôme Hypnose - my first Designer perfume. So strong, barely need 1 spray. Bit overwhelming to me now. And in the sunlight the blue perfume liquid went brown? Still smells the same. Love Hugo Boss colognes - because I grew up in the town where the factory was and it’s like the smell of my youth with boy crushes. Babydoll YSL - haven’t smelled in years, almost all perfume smelled awful on me as a teen but I wanted it so much when I was younger. No one had hear of it - I found it because we used to take a 20hr sailing to France for camping and the ship had a big perfume section - and then my ‘best friend’ had her dad buy it for her. Never forgave her. L’Imperatrice D&G - my mum got this as a birthday present and I used to wear it a work regularly and got complemented all the time. It wasn’t that amazing to me! Also one no one had heard of. Chanel Chance - this I adore but NO ONE complemented me or even smelled it on me. Gutted. Even went for parfum. Primark at doing some beautiful perfume in their Organice section at the moment. The Trio is beautiful. Lemon and Myrrh, Sandalwood and lavender and Oud wood and amber. All so good and the lemon one isn’t citrusy at all. Katy Perry Killer Queen - a good cheap fave but not the longest lasting. I got a sample set of Penhaligon perfumes which is probably cheaper per ml than a full bottle! They have a classic and special set. Very interesting scents. Also got a few Federico Mahora dupes of Tom Ford / Black Opium etc. nice perfume but could last a tad longer. Ahhhh I probably have so much more to say!
The thing with Baccarat Rouge - people often think it doesn‘t last- but it does…. You just somehow get noseblind to it. People around you will still be able to smell it. So be careful with the spritz 🤣
Have you tried Dior Addict, the blue one? I feel like you would like it. Def not for everyone, if I remember correctly it's kind of overpowering at first. Also Kilian Princess is a fave of mine - vanilla and cotton candy with spices.
I don’t really know anything about this I just like listening to you talk 😂 I do have a friend though who gets stuff from the library of fragrance and some of them sound so crazy, I could see myself getting something novel like that
My first perfume was Ralph by Ralph Lauren (the one with the blue bottle). I think I went through 2 bottles of it, but nowadays I can't stand it. Probably because at that time there were a lot of people using it too. I think the closest thing to a celebrity perfume I had, was the perfume "True Star" which I think it was a collab between Tommy Hilfiger and Beyoncé back in 2004 (I thought the bottle looked cool and it came with a CD with 2 tracks). Throughout my late teens and early 20s, I really liked Versace perfumes (Bright Crystal, Yellow Diamond and Versense). Nowadays I really enjoy Jo Malone. Currently I just own two perfumes, both from Jo Malone, which are "Blackberry & Bay" and "English Oak & Redcurrant". I feel so nice when I wear them!
I don’t buy perfumes from big retailers anymore; I get them from a local seller now. BUT when I did my faves were Britney Spears Fantasy, Marc Jacobs Daisy and Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist.
Omg , wait , was your Cinderella perfume in a frosted glass slipper bottle ? When I was a kid I had that and adored it , I seriously wish I could find it again . My little brother purchased it for me when he was like 4 isn’t that adorable . With moms wallet I’m sure
Not sure if you ever heard of Vanilla fields by Coty available at Walmart here in Canada, not top shelf at all. But if you like vanilla scents you should see if u enjoy it.
I remembered putting on Chanel No5 on my skin and it literally smelled like urine on my mother though it was quite a descent scent😀Every time the topic is the perfume I will tell that story. My favourite perfume that I have now (because I only have one or two bottles at once, have to be very careful around my boyfriend with perfume, he is very sensitive) is Creed Virgin Island Water (citrus and coconut)
I'm not an expert at all not even an amateur in the world of perfumes but I do know what smells attract me. I don't know if you've ever tried the La nuit (pronounced Nu-ee) Trésor by Lancôme but it is the first adult perfume I got. I hesitated for more than a week between this one and L'interdit (sounds something like Uhn-tair-dee) by Givenchy because I loooooove them both but could only afford one. To me they are different for sure but have the same vibes both warm and sensual. I'm so obsessed I kept the sample I tested. I know the Trésor collection is pretty big and there are multiple variation to La nuit Trésor also but I haven't got the chance to compare them. Someday I'll get L'inerdit and also take the time to find a more spring/summer suited perfume!
My favourite perfumes are Jo malone velvet rose and oud, Tom ford lost cherry and flowerbomb bloom. But my most cherished is my Illamasqua freak (which has been discontinued) I hate citrus fragrance on me as they always end up smelling like kitchen cleaner.
Forgot to mention my favorite perfumes I have lol. I used to have Mugler Alien but she's too expensive for a refill. I still have Daisy Eau So Fresh, Davidoff Cool Water (old af but it's my bf's fave), I recently got rid of my old Ralph Lauren "Ralph" in the clear bottle with blue cap. I LOVED that but it went bad. And I have a random body spray I like from Target and also a great indie spray from Etsy- "Earthly" from Tater Rounds Beauty. It's a nice scent but slightly oily feeling so I spray it on my clothes instead of skin (lasts well too)
I have a huge hoard of perfumes too, and like to switch them out. My favourite smells are usually musk's, spices and really dark, 'witchy' herbal scents. I'm not so keen on florals, especially rose. I just can't stand the smell of rose perfumes or incense - it smells like stale wee to me. 🤢 Not super keen on overly sweet or fruity fragrances either. I like Angel (yet don't have a bottle sadly), but that's because it hold a special meaning to me. My aunt wore it, so I smell that and galaxy chocolate and instantly think of her. ❤️ A lot of my perfumes now, are oils and handmade by independent little stores. But I also have a strange obsession with Britney Spears perfumes. I think there's only s couple I don't have now lol 🤣 and I love lady Gaga's perfume. I also like to wear a lot of 'men's' fragrances because they have those scents and spices that I love. I also have a couple really old perfumes from back in the 40's-60's that were my Nan's. I don't ever wear them (I don't think they'd be skin safe) but like to have a sniff when I'm missing her. I just remembered, I was recently organising my perfume drawer (that I live in constant fear of dropping lol) and now have about 80 different perfumes 🤣🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ not including little samples ....I think I have a problem .... But at least I smell good 😉😅😂
Some of my favorite perfumes are Midnight Fleur by Nest Fragrances, Rose Prick by Tom Ford and Delina by Parfums de Marly. My least favorite is Juicy Couture and White Diamonds. My sister was stuck on that perfume for years to where I can't take the smell of it now. White Diamonds is by Elizabeth Taylor and was released in the 90's, Everyone's grandma (including my own) wore White Diamonds as if their lives depended on it. I think you can carry Maison Margiela's Jazz Club. I've noticed that some women can carry it and others can't. I gave Jazz Club to my aunt and cousin and they both smelled the way a sophisticated, well seasoned, high maintenance lady would smell. When I put on Jazz Club it had me smelling like someone's favorite uncle.
I had completely forgotten about White Diamonds. My mother-in-law had given my sister-in-law and myself a bottle each in the 90s. I think I actually went through a few bottles. Thanks for the memories.🥰
This is making me want to do my own video haha x When it comes to fragrances, I'm a bit all over the place. I don't really look at gender or anything, just what I like.
Thanks to this video I found and bought a bottle of Red Temptation (I had no idea that Jo Malone was working with Zara to create new scents, or that this one would be so yummy). Trying not to go too overboard in re-upping my perfume collection. Right now my current favorite is Rumz al Rasasi 9325 Por Elle, but I also often reach for Mugler Aura Sensuelle.
