My Period Story That ALMOST Went Wrong 

Yk the feeling of just, *standing up* right after sitting/laying down it just, *comes down like Niagara falls*

Having a period is a monthly subscription that I did not sign up for and can’t cancel until I’m 60

The start: ☹️ The smell: 🤮 The feeling: 😩😖 The cramps: ☠️ The end: 🥳

In 9th grade wellness class, we had to watch two videos describing puberty, one for boys and one for girls. The boys one was pretty much like “oh yeah you’re gonna get some body hair, maybe a growth spurt and a voice change, you’ll also probably start feeling attraction™ but nothing too bad” whereas the girls one was pretty much “you are going to suffer, here’s an extremely long list of everything that will happen to you once your body decides that it’s had enough of not being pregnant”

I'm 43 and my period started when I was 12, I knew enough about the topic because since I was 10/11 my school did lessons on it, but of course it was awkward when it finally happened to me, and they weren't regular for the first year, so I would be worried about accidents! My mum made me feel even more insecure about my periods, that didn't help one bit and she should know how it feels! She did show me how to use pads, (never tampons) painkillers to take and I got extra pocket money to buy my own supply. My moods would be horrendous and the pain felt like I was about to die! I passed out many times while out shopping as my blood sugar was low and we where having a heatwave here in the UK! I haven't had a regular period in about a decade- maybe more, they stopped slowly and never came back! I always hated them so I was shocked, but quite happy TBH. Never wanted kids, so periods was like an un-wanted bodily function that caused a lot of mental /emotional anguish.

Getting periods is worse than experiencing a break up😨

Imagine me getting my period when I was at a theme park, having to use a spare sock, I had in my bag to not bleed through. And then my period had the nerves of lasting for two weeks...

Who here forgot they don't have pads or tampon and suddenly there period comes out off no where and use tissue or a cloth so they can have pads so THE BLOOD DOESN'T GO ANYWHERE!!!!!

I’m going thru my period run and this is something I like to watch so that I feel better knowing that I’m not alone Every time I have one, I have huge cravings and I try to resist but like I can’t help myself. I also get painful cramps and i once had to stay home from school bc of it. I never know which day my period is coming back so I always put a spare blanket that I don’t use underneath my mattress that doesn’t have a sheet bc Im too lazy to put it on. I don’t keep track of my periods bc I don’t wanna spend my precious 3 mins downloading a period tracker that has ads that pop up 19 times a second. I cannot tell you how many times blood is on my pants/underwear- it’s annoying to look at it.

My middle school would force us to wear kaki pants, and I swear EVERY girl went to the nurse at least once because of an incident. It was horrid. When we were taking the winter exams and stuff I remember before one exam wanting to cry because of the pain, and I had to complete the exam while feeling like my appendix had just decided to implode on me. It sucked, very happy the girls at my schools had a strict rule in helping each other out when it came to this stuff.
