Yes , the $$$ would be interesting, the auto feeder. do a DIYer and you can make videos of the build process. That said, be happy to help with design and making machined parts for it. I design custom automated hardware as an engineer, been doing it for 30+ years. Free engineering support, how's that.

Where ever you place the eggs to hatch add some Catappa leaves (organic Indian Almond leaves) to the tank. Boil the leaves for 20-30 minutes and let them cool, then add them to the tank of eggs and fry. These leves release tanins into the water that have beneficial properties, such as anti fungal, anti bacterial (disease bacteria), anti spetic, anti viral, anti external parasitic. You should even add some to the pond itself. 3-4 leaves for a tub size and 10-15 for the pond. These leaves will ensure less fungus on the eggs and a better hatching rate. Plus the sooner you add them the more infusoria and aufwuchs (bio film) the fry can feed on will grow. Infusoria and bio film are great first foods for all fry. You can order them online and you want the large to extra large sized leaves. Make sure to add an airstone to the tub for O2 exchange. You can also order online live first foods like Daphnia, cyclops, and seed shrimps for the fry as well.

I love the pond cams so much! Some nights I put the pond on and fall asleep to the sounds! Others I just sit and stare, completely fascinated. Is it difficult to add cameras? Difficult to add a way for us to switch between cameras? I'll take anything I can get, but I would love to be able to switch views! This is a VERY exciting moment in the lives of these fish and the folks like me who are fully invested in their lives! I felt the terror when the Heron took a stab into the pond! This is so refreshing to me. I've raised lots of native animals and the bass have a voracious appetite and they grow fast. I've always wanted a pond for my fish. I've raised everything from large mouth bass, blue gills, crawfish, mosquito fish, sliders, common snapping turtles, dragonfly and damselfly numphs and many other water bugs and aquatic insects, bull head catfish, different types of minnows, darters, pumpkin seeds, and green sunfish. I can watch your videos all day. I can be outside or in front of my tank for hours at a time. It's very relaxing. And the best part about these animals is they don't need a water heater it any special water conditioners. Just clean filtered water. Keep the videos coming 👌🏽

Total costs for sure!! PLEASE! I’m a finance guy and i’m simply interested in the numbers behind all of this. It’s actually the numbers behind this that have convinced me not to pursue this hobby so I live vicariously 😂

Word to the wise, shade, shade, shade. Anything will work. Temporary shade tarp, large leafy plants, outdoor umbrella, anything will help the bass relax & spawn. Secondly, get a cheap bamboo garden fencing & submerge it around the spawning area weighted with stones that partially seperate's the spawning area & makes it seem a more secure place to spawn by making the area easier to protect & it also allowes plenty of water flow (you shouldn't have to completely seperate the pond/area though you could if you wanted too using the bamboo fencing.)

Could watch Moby striking on the surface for hours.

You should put a small popper without hooks into the 300 gallon tank to see if Moby will attack it.

In case no one knew, Ranger is a female Red Eared Slider. You can tell by the rounded carapace, short nails, and short stubby tail. Males usually have a flatter shell, longer nails, and a longer, tail

Check out the Moultrie 5 gal directional feeder. It’s a simple metal bucket. Not too expensive. Available on Amazon. Can set 6 feedings/day from 1-20 seconds.

That was some great footage to watch! Would you consider moving Cam 1 to any one of those locations so we can get a better view of the shallow end? The spawning mat is barely visible and Outlaw is usually off camera. Plus it would just be a nice change of view!

I've seen examples of looking at a fishes scale under a microscope and look at the growth lines, much like rings on a tree stump. This could tell you a lot about their growth rate. You can even see the difference in the lines from summer to winter. Very cool

I catch a lot of crappie using a tube jig with a spike/maggot on the hook. Works great.

You should give Moby small bluegills to try and get him big, maybe 7-10 in the tank may slow him down and make home bigger because it’s more of his natural forage

Make sure you do research on how to raise fry! It’s not easy! You can boil and egg, take out the yoke and put it in the freezer. When you feed the fry take small chunks and throw it in fry tank. Very good food for fish fry.

You can use any feeder really it don’t matter how big it is. You can set like a 1 or 2 second timer if you want like 4 times a day. Also make sure you buy one with a directional fixture instead of one that spins it out 360• you can buy a directional attachment too if you can’t find one already on it

They are quite delicious when grown, cooked in foil with some fennel, garlic, butter (or olive oil) shallot (about 1 tbsp, optional). 180c 10-15 minutes,

I bought a wild game innovations hanging bucket feeder and put some plastic over the spinner so the feed doesn’t throw up on the bank... works perfect for my trout

You May have to modify a automatic cat or dog feeder!

If you get eggs, they will need good water flow (preferably from an overpowered air stone), daily water changes, maybe some methalyene blue to prevent fungus. Once they hatch, they'll eat their yolk sack then you'll want to start them on rotifers > baby brine shrimp > daphnia. As an aquarist you might already have these or know where to find them.

Idk how close you are to eufala GA but next spring if you want to catch a slab to put in the pond take cane poles and minnows and put it on a grass edge and you will catch a mess of em’ in Grass creek Rood Creek or the mouth of barber creek

You should let the fry stay in there and let Clyde protect them, there isn’t too many predators compared to the wild, Clyde could probably keep a lot of then Alive and I think we would love to see Clyde protecting them

Environment plays probably the biggest factor when it comes to size, an ichthyologist I know raised some perches from a stunted population in a small lake and they reached larger size. BTW it is possible that the bluegill is not very active because it's submissive or stressed? Maybe it could be worth trying to get another one and see if the pattern changes with a companion.

Just a suggestion add some wood to the deep end of the pond and catch outlaw 3 so companions. I bet will get some more activity out of them. As a bass fisherman and multi aquarium owner, I love your channel. This is going to be the year you finally get them to spawn!

Have you taken a water temperature in your pond? I hardly doubt they will spawn at the same time as your local waters as your pond heats up at a much greater rate. I'm sure you have passed the spawn temperature.

I have caught so many large male bass using a smaller caught bass and dropping them down on a nest with the female guarding them. The male will usually be close and will come tearing in to drive off the tiny foe. They take the small bass and the hook attached to it. Fun as shit and like a biology experiment all in one.

You could use an aquarium auto feeder for the pond.

Yall should put some mosquito fish in the pond the eat algae and they also eat mosquito larva and they mainly stay on top of the water so they good for bluegill because they like top water action I have big ones in my grandma's pond

suggest an aquarium auto feeder or koi pond feeder something smaller scale than the 'bucket' pond feeders. Perhaps an auto dry cat food feeder could be adapted? Y'all Be Well
