We got geese. Geese are the pitbulls of poultry. They will defend your land, your gold, your dignity. Compared to chickens they are highly intelligent and loving. Here is a thread on the symbolism of geese: BraveTheWorld/sta...
I enjoyed the journey...Wish I had George since he was a gosling, he was full grown when he arrived here...Hope your babies stay sweet in the Spring when hormones crank up...
Geese are the cutest and best! I adore geese. They're extremely intelligent, social, friendly and social! Friendly and lovable, I love to hang out with wild geese in the parks and be among them regularly.
I've had several geese bond with me through the last 34 years to where they have followed me, perched on my shoulder, sat on my lap, and attacked others who would come near me. I currently watch 4-5 clutches of baby Canadians grow up every year at nearby ponds.
Hey Braves, lol, I remembered your interview with D. G. Rancourt, he's back doing some real good I think "Press for truth.... Those masks" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gdjyQxKwvjw.html
He made sure you knew it too. 😂. If you turn around, proceed toward the bird, and spread your arms wide they’ll often retreat. Making loud noises helps too. You have to make them think you’re bigger and not afraid.
Oh wow! A fan of Pet Goose George and so cool to see Bob on your channel...:-) So now I'm viewing your channel and looks good too. I completely agree with your statement above, about geese being the pitbull of poultry and defending your land, etc, and being extremely loyal, to the point of death, because they really have an undying love for you! Go well with your famiily and beautiful geese, and may God bless you all.
Great Video , so nice to see a family, that loves their animals, and beautiful souls, it would be a beautiful world, if every family, was like this one, i have been following, Pet Goose George, for a couple of years, also on youtube. Well done. Karl in Tasmania, Australia .
Nope, raising them from a gosling is very nice - they see you as family and always want to be around you. They are super cute, not mean at all when you're apart of their flock ^^ I've raised a gosling from this species before and named her Momo, but I'm not very 'mean'- just very thankful to have known her. They will love you with unconditional bias to your personality. Geese just keep their family close and everyone else farrr, far away. My family had to give her away because we were moving to a state that disallowed transportation of her species, and it was so hard to part from her and vice versa.
@@cryppi1510 Awww, I’m sorry you had to part with Momo. I had a Quaker parrot named Lulu; she was my girl: she’d lay (unfertilized) eggs and I was the only one she’d let touch them. We had to leave her in WA, since they’re illegal in CA. I’d have smuggled her in, but I was afraid she’d need a vet at some point. Anyway, here’s to Momo and Lulu! ❤️
I had one for 19 year, Now I have a pair , when they set eggs and hatch that s when they will get very mean so you will have to watch small kids. Love geese, no dog or cat for me, LOL
I don’t know about mating season, but the wild geese we had in our backyard were great parents. One parent would watch while the chicks and the other parent ate. Very protective. Contrast that with the wild ducks we had. Raised entirely by the mom, who would flea at the first sign of danger and would hope the ducklings would follow. Of course, the geese only had 2 while the ducks would have up to 11-12 ducklings at a time.
Love geese, had 2 when I was growing up. Lol yes they crap everywhere the only thing I found was the Gander became aggressive/protective of the goose after the first time we bred them.
Those are two beauties. I think the mixed breed geese like your two are usually easier going compared to the pure bred Toulouse geese and emblems. That’s been my experience.
Are you homesteading in Texas? Wife and I are looking to move out of Austin for that same reason- any suggestions?? Trying to get somewhere resembling normal...
dont move to austin proper. move to a county right outside. way less building rules, stupid laws, and more freedom in general. also super cheap land that is getting more expensive by the year.
I wouldn't want a goose. Well i would. But it's more convenient with a small bugger in my apartment. Birds are so effing fun. And SMART! My god. Edit: Loooove far and fetched! What a couple!
Hey Julia! I am really inspired to go to church- specifically an Orthodox Church- and was wondering if you’d ever shed some light on your journey to God and the church. I understand you were an atheist but now go to Orthodox Church with your family. It seems intimidating to jump right into, but it also seems like the only way to go. I’d love to hear more about it from you!
Yeah, geese are mean...I used to have a small pond and they would hang out around there and kill all the snakes, tug-of-war style...suited me just fine, though! On another note, would like to be clear that I'm in no way akin to the Portland mayor, biologically or certainly ideologically...go Slav mom!
