As a Bionicle fan from New Zealand I really appreciate what you have done here. Bionicle's main selling point for me was its island setting and use of my culture. It honestly felt more alive to me. As a kid I would go onto the beaches and into forests imagining I was on Mata Nui. You seem to really appreciate that side of Bionicle too, and it is so nice to see someone shares the same love of Bionicle as me.
That would be a wonderful idea. I think a problem Bionicle generation two ran into was trying to market themselves to the kids of today. I think a movie would be a great way to get their attention and make them want their parents to go buy Bionicle toys. I especially love bringing in a more diverse team to be behind it, generation two felt to me like it was too scared to use any Maori concepts which robbed the theme of some of its identity. Also if they wanted to appeal to older fans they could also partner with a publisher like IDW Comics to produce more adult oriented Bionicle content (they already do this with TMNT and Transformers), maybe get Greg Farshtey on board to write it.
I really like this pitch and feel that it would serve as the best starting point for a new generation of Bionicle toys and stories. The first years really did set the tone for something spectacular.
Well said! I have high hopes for a Bionicle Reboot/Bionicle G3. But the only way for that too happen is either a video game or like you described, a well put together movie. And the movie will definitely have to be a theatrical release.
I really like this idea!! Much like the other Lego Movies that have the humour and heart, Bionicle should be the next one in their line up if they are continuing. It would also be wonderful for us who grew up with the franchise. I love Bionicle, its story and the movies and I love having Taika Waititi and Polynesian artists to make a Lego Bionicle Movie give more importance to the franchise. UNITY!!!! DUTY!!!! DESTINY!!!!!!

As a Bionicle Fan because my brother used to be into Bionicle when we were kids. I may be a girl, but if there was a Lego Bionicle Movie, I only have one minimum requirement, which is *that the movie is an immediate continuation of* *_Bionicle The Legend Reborn_* made back (or was released on DVD) in 2009. The reason why is that movie ends on a cliffhanger, but it doesn't get an answer to how Mata Nui gets back home. It abruptly ends, and the company goes straight onto Lego Hero Factory. Without a proper closure to Mata Nui's story of trying to get back home.
Bionicle Generation 1, REMASTERED. The history we all se and love, but improved showed to us, the veterans and new people whit more interesinting things, better exploration and character evolution, making 2005 an interesting year, and continue whit Bara magna, but in this case Mata nui very slowy recovers his powers and respect and dosent inmedialy resolves all the problems. Mata nui explores the diverse and beutiful cave systems of bara magna, and after makuta takes over aqua and bara magna, Mata nui recorves, goes to bota magna and figths his brother while the shadowed one starts a dictatorship in aqua magna as a rebelion towards Makuta. Makuta and Mata nui recover they good and the 2 brothers sacrifice and save all living beings in the new Spherus magna by fithing the shadows that corrup makuta. In the end all bionicles are saved, new good and bad things arise, and the great being in this history are a superior race of "humans" that created life out metals and biologic materials, and now want to see what happend in his long forgotten "experiment".
If we get The Lego Bionicle Movie, a video game would be based on it just like The Lego Movie and The Lego Ninjago Movie. Heck just like The Lego Ninjago Movie, we could get these Rahis, Matorans, Toas and Turagas in a real, natural, and organic environment with real plants, dirt, rocks, stones, etc.
*Quest for Mata Nui* that fan-game makes me want to see Bionicle returning in a videogame format, just alone the original Bionicle universe has so much potential for gaming and even though most fans are already familiar with the storyline there's still room to explore and experience the original lore and universe through a videogame (or a series), and given the fact that a lot of videogames nowdays have this cinematic vibe it could also suffice the theatrical aspect of a movie all at the same time, if anyone haven't checked Quest for Mata-Nui fan-game please go and do it cause it's the closest thing to pro developed Bionicle game at the moment, it's hard to be dissapointed with the premise. I wish Lego noticed and focused on how much people out there still cares for the franchise and see how Bionicle still has potential to be a reliable IP for an older and new audience. I also could see it returning again in a Netflix format, something like Transformers Siege

I would love to see a film like that! So excited for the bionicle movie now. I have such fond memories of that bionicle game on pc and would love to see what they do with it, even if it's bad nice to know other still love it too.
Just checked them out, I feel like their stuff differs from what I was saying about Maori and Polynesian artists being behind a BIONICLE story so I wouldn't call it the BIONICLE movie/thing of my dreams, but it's still cool to see fans making their own BIONICLE reboot, I like the idea of Matoran building Toa from scratch, and the visual aspects of their Lewa vs Nui Jaga animation definitely looks like something that could inspire more people in the future. I am a little concerned about what they mean by their ideas being "controversial" but I hope it's only something like Mata Nui literally being Jesus/the Christian God (given that at least one of the creators intends to have overt Christian themes) and not something like overt racism, homophobia, or any controversial subject that is actively hurtful to people even if they didn't intend to hurt anyone. I still want to see a Maori+Polynesian take on BIONICLE, but whatever Little Brotherhood Studios has in store could be some neat fan films.
@@Lavapasta nah I don't think so, if one looks in depth all of their work and ViDocs it seems hardly to find something *hurtful*, the author looks kinda humble too, mmm well it could feel kinda weird but nothing messed up (i hope), even though I sense and share your _concern_ (even as christian myself lol) but that aside, oh boy have they putted a lot of dedication and talent into the models and sequences isn't it? It may not be a political/cultural appealing job but it seems original so far. I mean original in the way they're revamping models and concepts for the characters, not to mention the stop motion techniques for a home-made project, nothing to say about the plot though since that's yet to be seen... if it ever happens -_- I hope they get it done, it would be kinda of sad if they quit after everything they've done and after all the faith and praise of the author. If there's ever another Bionicle reboot I hope it could be leaded by people as commited as them and providing sensitization as you mentioned
@@LuxCirilo Oh yeah, the only reason I'm wary about them at all is just that I have no idea what one of the creators means by "controversial" so I can't help but think that there's a (small) chance that it could be hurtful rhetoric even if there's also a chance that it's just going to be a more overtly Christian interpretation of BIONICLE that ends up being more innocuous than "controversial." With that being said, I do think that it's really, really smart how they completely revamped BIONICLE character models to make their articulation specifically tailored for stop-motion animation, and I honestly think that one of the brothers is selling himself too short by saying that it might have been "arrogant" to think that LEGO would pay him to make animations for promo videos or commercials- the brothers have the technical skill, so as long as they were comfortable enough to work within the articulation limitations of the official LEGO sets that their animations would be promoting, a paid gig for LEGO would certainly be within their grasp. Alternatively, their experience with redesigning BIONICLE characters would make them fantastic candidates to hire in the character design department for this hypothetical LEGO BIONICLE Movie idea, so that they could test out and see how their character models actually work in real life before the designs become digitized for Animal Logic-style computer animation. To clarify, I wouldn't hire them to be in the writer's room or the director's chair because I want to prioritize Maori and Polynesian voices, but there would absolutely be room for them to play a different role on the team as well.
@@Lavapasta @Lavapasta yes I agree and understand those red flags you're detecting, and again I also don't like too much the way they're alluding things for the Bionicle property, cause in their case it looks like they're reflecting too much of themselves into the fan-work, but then I took a sharp breath and thought "well that actually happens a lot in many fanbases", just search fan-works from any other brand, you'll find some faithful to the original source material with their own elements from the author here and there but you may also find some others going way too much in the author's direction, as if it was some kind of appropiation (ironically like the initial misappropiation of the Bionicle brand with some names). I wonder if someone have reached them to tell them this properly, cause while they're doing a good fan-work, some things could be done better, and I'm saying it as a constructive critic but I notices they have comments disabled (not a good sign at all) and I actually don't feel that motivated to critizice them on FB (don't have one neither .-.) Not that opinion is relevant neithe, but I would have liked to leave a comment for if they would have notice. As for the arrogant speech, I heard he apologized in one of the ViDocs, stating that it was too arrogant from his part to think that he was making a job worthy of recognition by Lego, also I'm not expert on stop motion, though I'm fan of stop motion movies and studios like LAIKA, but I haven't learned enough of the process, so most of the things to me will look gorgeous to a degree lol. I'm more into CGI animation and one thing that kinda bugs me is how they're still using stop-motion animation instead of CGI, I know no one learns to do great animations or create character models in one seat but it would've been faster and cheaper than stop-motion (in their case) considering the hardware/software costs of course. That guy seems to be a Bionicle fan for a long time now and given his stories it's clear he was inspired to do stop-motion Bionicle since that method was a thing back in the day, I guess he stuck with what he already knew but given their current state and the state of the fanfom I think they're aiming too much far than they could actually get... not that it's entirely a bad thing, BUT I'd say if they want to finish before the next decade they better cut to the chase. I'm studying informatic engineering and spent half of this year working just on the idea/concept of a mobile app for food delivery, and recently someone else published a similar app in less time, it lacks most of my ideas and features, but whoever was behind, looks like it didn't stay too much in the details (unlike me) so I guess in some cases one just have to go rush and fix details later, specially when there's lack of resources and free time.

Living on an island is like living in any other place. Sure, palms and citrus trees does mean good free foood depending on the island, but it doesn't really make much of a difference. The people are just more people. The cultures of the islands are generally shared between other countries. But I will say, it's definitely more dangerous driving in Puerto Rico than most other places, not just because of the mosquitoes, but because of the defensive driving on roads that are never straight and mostly built cliff-sided.
