Nah I love it as well, especially the aspect you touched on there about cars I'll never own, I'll always dream but it's nice to be able to live semi-vicariously through Jimmy's content
*For ignition system upgrade you can either use NGK 48003 for coil on plug or BREMI 20132 for dual coil packs, looks also very neat when installed. The fit to the power steering pump is very close on cylinder 6 tho you might need to trim abit when going COP .For the intake manifold a 996 gt3 will also fit and you can even run it with drive by wire .* For maximum power gains dremel out the edge on the rubber adapters from the manifold to the cylinder head because they have a pretty rough edge. Aircooled porsches dont have alot of tech a standalone ecu is quickly installed . Knock sensing with aur cooled engines is a pita though because the cylinders heat fins will start vibrating and create alot of noise . Best of luck!!!
Good info. I would also recommend serpentine belt kit instead of OEM V-belt witch puts a lot of tension and steals power. And some quality headers cause 964 exhaust is not that great
Love it! I owned a 1968 912 when I was 19....now at 55 I wished I kept it! My favorite Porsche you now own, my 2nd favorite are your S15's. I have a 16 Nismo 370z in Pearl w low miles if you ever want to trade one! Thanks for the content!
I think a good idea when you don’t have a lot on is a tool box tour and your most used tools so we all know what’s worth buying and its a good guide for beginners
Dude wow. Very nice seeing this in depth work on the timing and all the engineering behind that. I’ve been a Porsche fan for years and never thought to look up the assembly of the old air cooled engines. Great Video!
i actually enjoyed the voice over. when i couldnt screen watch at work, had the headphones under the car and it was mint! do it again like once a month or something
Pelican Parts is GOATed. I remember 10 or 15 years ago I was rebuilding my first S52 ever and shitting my pants about the break-in process. Wayne wrote me a few emails about how to do it. I'll never forget that.
Im here and the vids only been out 18 seconds James ! LoL cant wait for the Spoon touch on the Porsche 964 man i bet hes gonna build a gangster exhaust for the car ! !
Porsche people will hate this comment but, watching this reminds me of just working on my Subaru engine. I think it’s about time Jim builds a turbo Subaru it would turn out sooo good please!!!
Subaru engines are waaay less complicated 😄 I could build an EJ in my sleep but watching Jimmy set the valve timing made my head hurt. 😂 its probably a lot simpler in person but still. Shits wild.
James the Porsche Tech. Always love the content boys. Keep it up Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦 You know, it ain't a shop unless u have made ur own special tools.. #ICouldHaveMadeThat. Love it #Spoon. Dig the Voice Over
Beautiful car ❤ and it’s looking even better with all the work on the engine, I was looking for one of these and I ended up buying a 991.1 since the 964 it’s more expensive now 😢. Cool selection on the set up by the way 🔥 🔥 🔥
