Big fan of the Training Diaries series! I really like seeing how you adapt your training plan according to what's going on in your life. I'm currently planning my first marathon training plan and I’m taking bits and pieces of info you share and testing it out for myself. Looking forward to hearing more about Skratch and similar products!

You're absolutely killing it with these weekly updates. As someone else pointed out it's always nice to see how people like yourself adapt your training as life happens. I had a quick question in regards to nutrition on the run. On my recent 50k I had quite a lot of sloshing going on in my stomach and I couldn't quite figure out why. I was keeping all my calories/solids separate from my fluid intake so I could regulate it, but it seemed like nothing was working. I felt like I was intaking appropriate amounts as at no point in the run did I ever have a bonking effect, felt good all the way through. I didn't throw up either but at a few points that sloshing kind of almost made me feel like I should have. Again great job on these updates and look forward to all that is to come!

Hi Jeff, I'm really enjoying your training diary videos! I was a cross country/track runner all the way through high school, but in college I was diagnosed with a lung condition that led to me receiving a double lung transplant in May of 2019. Since then, I have been building back my strength and slowly getting back into running. At the moment I am training for a 5k, but I have bigger goals in mind for later on. I really enjoy hearing about your thoughts on training and various methodologies. It's also super inspiring to see all the beautiful places running takes you. I'm also only a few hours south of Vancouver in North Central Washington so we run on fairly similar terrain! All the best! Brendan

Currently aiming at a half marathon in September. My first if I succeed. Lots of base training in recent weeks. I am currently dealing with an injury which hopefully doesn’t last too long. Worst case scenario is that I will have to run that half marathon later, not in an official race. That is fine with me. Thanks for your beautiful videos showing the awe inspiring trails and mountains. Greetings from the flat and mountainless Netherlands.

Dealing with an early-stage Achilles tendonopathy and trying to manage running around recovery. 115km trail race in 8 weeks, so it's all about getting to the start line healthy for me!

I'm loving the training diaries! And stoked to hear about what Audree is up to as well! Myself I'm training for the Canadian Death Race so I'm knee deep into my own training. These weekly videos give me something to look forward while recovering from one of my own weeknight workouts. Thanks for all you do!

I was recently put onto your channel after my wife wanted to revisit some of the sites we saw when hiking the Rockwall Trail and your video brought us some highlights and reminded us of the scenery (although the year we did it was much smokier). Since that first video I have been power watching your channel! To answer your question at the end of this training diary I am currently training for my first Gran Fondo road bike race (160km) and to do my second ever marathon this season. Living in Prince George, BC, and having such a cold spring I have been riding my stationary bike with a heat lamp and my furnace on to prep for the heat of Penticton and your videos were the perfect solution to be entertained while in the basement. I really don't like stationary bikes because they are so boring but the last few mornings have been awesome and motivating with your videos. Can't wait to see the Vedder Race and Georgia!

Im at the final week before my trip. However covid hit me very hard. I spent last week getting 1-3 miles in a day, but a mile would take me hours pacing around a tiny apartment. Still getting easily tired. So the 7 miles a day goal isn't happening. I'll have to see what my body will put up. Thanks for the video. Makes me feel better.

Garmin 5k plan (6/11 weeks done) hoping to get faster. Then, 10k then, ... Last week: dropped 1 easy, 45 easy, stride repeats at the track and a TT in addition to 3 tennis sessions (2x1h with singles practice partner, 1x 2h15 with a coach). I binge watched the amazing Namibia series and it inspired me to move on with the garmin running TT on Sunday despite all the tennis. Stretching, rest and it all went very well and I am looking forward to this week :-) I found the section on Audrée's coach selection interesting. Weather and city constraints are important factors in Montreal in the winter. I will be looking for people with local experience (run club more than coach probably)

Does anyone have tips for a "Last Man Standing" type of event. Not looking to win but looking to venture out into anything past 50 miles. The loop is 4 miles. Starts at the top of each hour. I have done a handful of Trail Marathons and a few 50ks but have yet to attempt the 50 mile mark.

Doing my first 50k end of June at Beaupré. I have been testing the nutrition and usually put nuun with my water and use cereals bar n gel. But if you are using a powder, can you mix it with the nuun in your water?
@JeffPelletier

Most powders already have electrolytes in them, but if you felt you needed more then you could also mix in Nuun. Best of luck with your 50k!
