There is a small vise that holds the lure. I carefully measure different parts of the lure relative to the jig to make sure it is the same before I tighten it down and make my cut. It actually doesn't take that long.
What if you put magnets on the 2 sides to hold the saw on the plane? Marling has something similar and the magnets seem to help the blade to stay on plane and avoid miscuts.
