I really like the case overall, which I got used at a great price! But I have had trouble with certain modules fitting, especially ones that are 2hp and I'm trying to use to fill the entire rack. Something about the way the fixed rack sits, I guess there are some advantages to racks with sliding nut setups.
I bought one as it seemed a great idea with built in midi and audio ports. Power let me down ! So I bought a tip top power module but it’s overkill really, and takes valuable space. I had the rails issue also. On paper, I love it. In truth, it makes me want to cry a little bit 😢
One can simply go to a hardware store and buy a 4" or so paint brush for less than the price of that synth duster, and you'll have the exact same thing.
I had the same problem on the very left end of my NiftyCase... the rest lines up just fine, only that side is a problem. I am still new and barely know shit, but NiftyCase made it extremely easy for me to get into modular and start f-ing around.
Safely drill into the module and make the hole bigger? I did this for 0coast and now everything fits cleanly 👍 it's not ideal, but it was a quick and simple fix
Not the slightest problem and I have been constantly switching out modules for over a year now. I use Befaco knurlies to tighten modules. Looks like they may have had some bad batches?
I have a 2” (5cm) fine-haired paintbrush, unused- for paint anyway- which cost about £1 (€1,20), and I dust my modular rig with that. I suspect the Befaco brush may be an order of magnitude more expensive…
I had the same problem and once I shoved the module into position the module fit smooth. It was risky since modules are semi- delicate pieces of hardware.
Dumb question. I have 10 modules already in the case but I need to add this 2hp AdSR I have an 11 out let cable that works with this case but I don’t wanna overdo it all the modules I have are pretty lightweight there’s nothing really high powered in my case . would that be a problem? There are 10 outlets. I need 11. I have the cable I’m just not sure what would happen. I don’t think I would be overpowering the power supply. Of coarse cre8audio disables comments on their RU-vid channel
Hey Matty Elemental Sound LA, quite an interesting question! I decided to release a video about this topic coming Sunday. If you don't want to wait that long for an answer... the nifty case provides 1500mA on +12V, 500mA on -12V and 500mA on +5V. So what you need to do is to check the power consumption of each of your modules that you have in the case. You usually find this information on the manufacturers website. The 2hp ADSR needs 24mA on +12V, and 7mA on -12V. If you now sum this up, and all the modules together do not exeed 1500mA for +12V and 500mA for -12V, you should be good to go. Although I would give it some room and not max it out to the peak of 1500mA. Have a great Day!
@@SundayAfternoonModular Oh that’s good to know yeah there’s more than enough power so I just added up a few of the modules actually the biggest ones that I have and they’re pulling like 80 mA from the top rail and 10 mA from the bottom rail so yeah they give you more than enough power thank you so much for your response you clarified it perfectly
