As a hobbyist 3d-printer, I can say that can holder is well-designed and printed pretty damn decently. It was clearly printed in the optimal orientation for the stresses the part would handle (this matters a great deal for strength of 3d-printed objects). He probably used PA-CF, (carbon-fiber infused nylon) which means it should theoretically get a bit stronger over time, as the nylon absorbs ambient moisture.

I'm on my second Fanttik, a warranty replacement. (Also, I had a $30 discount at the time -- no way I'd roll the dice at $70) The asthetics are good, but the internals are less than reliable. The battery will spontaneously "lose charge" in the middle of a fill until you power cycle it. That's why the first one was warranteed. The second did the same thing out of the box. And the battery life, even when working, isn't as great as it should be. Definitely checking out those knee pads, though.

I just became a member of the clavicle club this past Friday!!! Now mine was a little unusual, but still happened on my bike. I use my bike to commute to work everyday. An ironic part of the story is I work at the James A Haley VA Hospital. On my way home from work Friday, I was side swiped by an SUV. I was taken right back to the hospital I work at lol 😂😂. I'm a veteran and treated there as well. Anyway the Dr says my clavicle was crushed, 2 ribs have hairline fractures, most of my ribs are bruised. That plus my entire right side is banged up. It was a hit and run so that's fun. Long story short, my protective equipment and gear saved my life!!!! If you are out riding please put it on.

The MT200s are pretty darn good brakes too. There are a couple bikes from Specialized that come with SRAM Level (pretty similar spec level) and they are an absolute pain to deal with. And you have to use DOT fluid.
@LoneWanderer905
@LoneWanderer905 3 месяца назад
The one downfall of the MT200s is that their lever is steel and corrodes over time if you don't take good care of them. MT201's fix that issue.

@Saftkeur

I've been told you can just swap out the levers, which is on my list for future upgrades on mine. Bike shop guy near me has MT200s on his (much more expensive than mine) personal bike, but with higher trim levers because he prefers the feel and the adjustability. My only complaint with the MT200s I got is that adjustability, I liked having my mechanical brakes dialed in so you only need a short squeeze to start making contact, while the hydraulic ones can't preload like that, though it tends to not matter that much when you can lock it up with one finger anyway.

that bear claw is pricey.. guys could work in apple price dept ;) from my "3d printing" exp I assume production cost is about 1.5$ - 2.5$ in production (filament cost + electricity) And there are some similar free designs over the web
@brianpark4
@brianpark4 3 месяца назад
It's not expensive it just costs a lot. ;) I print them out of a carbon-nylon material that doesn’t degrade with outdoor exposure or high heat, and I use super low layer-heights so they don’t look like sad Etsy science projects. They’re a couple bucks more expensive than other similar products out there because a) my materials cost more, b) lower layer heights = 2x the time per print, c) I cover some of the shipping out of the price, and d) unlike some of the lookalikes out there, I pay Tim the original designer of the mechanism for each Canclaw I make and sell. All that said, if you've got access to a printer I 100% recommend downloading a free version and experimenting. I'd for sure download a bike.

@jackson12106 3 месяца назад

@@jackson12106 Thank you! I'm using 0.4mm E3D Obxidian nozzles on two Bambu X1C machines. Those nozzles had better last a long time because they are EXPENSIVE. I ran a lot of carbon-nylon filament through the regular hardened steel nozzles in the past year and didn't have excessive wear though, so I'm hopeful it'll be reasonable.

Set your pressure plop that head onto the valve and let it rip while you get the rest of your gear ready. The battery is good for inflating two maybe three 2.3 mtb tires from 0 PSI. Strong start with those brakes! I got the exact same ones on my budget bike build, except they cost me a little under $50 from ebay (free shipping and it was quick though). Kinda wish I could have found them for $30~ like that, but name-brand hydro brakes for that cheap is already super good, even the guys at my local bike shop have MT200s on some of their personal bikes too (just with the levers switched out to the higher model versions, for better adjustability and stuff; probably next on my upgrade list too, seems like an inexpensive way to get higher-tier brake feel, though so far I really haven't felt like I needed it, they're super good). Protip: these often come pre-trimmed and bled, which is great unless you're on a bigger bike and/or internally routed cables. So in those cases, leave room in your budget for extra hose, fittings, and a bleed kit. You can find cheap options for all of those, the official Shimano hoses for me would have cost more than the entire set of brakes + hoses so I went third-party and no regrets.

What's that? Neither of those bike pumps do Woods valves? 🙂I wish I didn't have to do them either! But that's what my Dutch roadster came with. Can't wait for the inner tubes to wear out, then I can fit Presta.

3:30 neat little can holder, but "what can do a better job"? ... a frame bag? a handlebar bag? even at this moment I have about 3 places where I could place a can if I wanted / needed to. on my "main bike". the one I rode today. but thinking of it... on any of my 3 current bikes, at least one place.

It took me embarrassingly long to get the "clavicle club." Now I need to send one to a friend who managed to record himself THIRD PERSON washing out his front on a turn and going "bang, pop, aaajjjhjh!"

That Bluetooth speaker looking pump is like an over engineered version of a $2 pump. That hose it comes with will be the first thing to break as well.

Can Claw, all I could think about was that Simpsons where Bart puts Homers beer in the paint shaker.

6:46 i have a right leg injury. i am on doctors orders to be wearing knee pads when i ride. I have some alpine stars paragon knee pads that cost by about $50. they are comfortable and don't really move around. These pads, for $150, would have to have the hardest protection cups, be THE most comfortable and never slip or move. 12:06 i'm a lifetime member of the "metal work on your femur" club (like seriously, the stainless steel bar that holds my right leg together is never coming out. been a part of me for 5 years so far)

As someone who owned various iterations of the can holder since 2018, I can confidently say that the beer neither gets warm, nor does it explode upon opening. And no, I don‘t use it on a road bike ;)

The $70 pump not being able to save custom settings, and instead having a 60 psi mtb preset is hilarious hahah
