Good evening Martin. Congrats on your 10 year anniversary. I think that I may have been with you for the whole ride. I know I subbed you a longtime ago. So maybe I did sub you from the get go. I do know that it has been nothing but fun and musically inspiring since then. I have always appreciated your vast appreciation for many a genre. Also the unique novelty records that no one else in the VC has ever shown. Totally unique. Plus I have always admired your appreciation of Christian music. If anyone can go down a proper Christian music rabbit hole it would be you. I did learn here that you were listening to Debbie Gibson when you became a teen. I was brought up on Motown, The Beatles, The Beach Boys and plenty of crooners. >< I am hoping that you get many responses. If I can gather up some free time I will try to do a rabbit hole response. My mom fell a few weeks ago and got pretty banged up. So I had to take two weeks off from work to be with her round the clock. Anyways. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and congratulations again. I think it must be the curiosity killed the cat he has a nice beret of course I'd wear it. It's rewarding though finding what you used to have though I've never knowingly got the same copy back that'd be too spooky. I'm still on the hunt for spitting image spit in your ear LP I knew literally all of it. Have a think on it thank you it's not a normal top ten thread but people could dumb it down and do the Beatles if they so wish.
Let's see if I can tap up Rachel to plug it and make a video herself that seems to be the way these days. I don't really have time to watch much livestreams nowadays because I changed jobs and am busy.
Happy tenth anniversary Martin. I'm not sure I've fallen down any rabbit holes - the metaphor that seems to describe my record buying is 'slippery slopes' rather than rabbit holes, but I will have a think. Agree about 'Dignity' on Rain Town, great song. I bought a double CD set of George Michael's hits just to listen to in the car a few years ago, and then my car CD player promptly broke. Perhaps it was trying to tell me something.
I think Deacon Blue were OK just lacking something a bit extra to make themselves more interesting. Loyal fanbase loved all they did including a triple B-sides etc album. I wasn't keen on their no.1 biggest hit the 4 covers of David & Baccarch hardly much to get excited about.....
That'd be great if you could I've only had one response I know of so far so you'd be in with a good chance of winning (if that's what it's all about, well not really.......?!) It's fairly open to interpretation too. Soon it'll be vinyl tag again and I'm not sure depending on questions I can be bothered with that again!
Hei, Martin 10 years gone? WOU how time flies. It was good to see Debbie Gibson's Out Of The Blue LP! That's such a cute album. I bought it on CD when it was new. I still like that album. My vinyl copy came with a poster. ❤ I hope it's not too cold in England, Jarkko/MyVinylBar

Happy 10th! I'm still intending to jump on the lying about records thread. It will be a fun one to keep going forever. Hoping the rabbit hole thread/contest gets some legs. The trouble is that the threads that take off usually appeal to vanity or are "dumbed down" to such a simple level that they aren't fun to watch. (You might have had a hit with any of the following: 1.) Show records that came out when you were ten. 2.) Show record that are perfect tens. 3.) Show records with perfect ten females/ladies on the covers. 4.) Show great records that you can find for under ten pounds/dollars. 5.) Show records that are a band's/artist's tenth album. 6.) Show records that you haven't played in ten years.) I may allow myself to show ten rabbit holes. Was the train LP released on Argo? Merv and Merla look like they might be fun. The Word label is from Waco, Texas. The label was certainly NOT known for putting out Christianized copycat versions of trending secular styles. I'll pick up records from the label sometimes when they're in the clearance bin. Waco is halfway between Dallas and Austin. It's most famous today for being the ground zero for the cult of the home remodeling power couple Chip and Joanna Gaines. (Was Fixer Upper a popular show in the UK? I indulge in a little fantasy viewing with Escape to the Country from time to time.) Of course, Waco has greater significance for being home to David Koresh's Branch Davidians and Billy Joe Shaver. Hey Jacob, my response to you is here but elsewhere I must've bodged it up the page don't know how that happened. How was the church concert? I'm hoping your still not in a state of shock my polluting your soul with their back catalogue of apocryphal sounds.
@@Thevinylscavenger The Church was a fun time. Generally, I liked their '80s songs the best. The Hypnagogue tracks were the most hit and miss. "Antarctica" was the most boring and unnecessary song in the set. The global warming sci fi plot didn't make the song any more interesting. "C'est la vie" was good shallow fun, though. The Church brought out the most Gen X crowd I've been around in years. I'd say the average age was slightly north of 55. Many of them were just as uncool as they would have been in the '80s. The first surprise of the night was the thick fog in the concert hall. The band brought their own light guy on tour, which explained why I'd never seen fog in the venue before. Seemed like a needless expense, especially with all the griping about how hard it is to make money in a band these days. I enjoyed the show and would be willing to see the band again, but I don't think I'll ever be a fan. The band put on a solid live show and had a good sound. The "hired gun" utility player in the band was very good. The lyrics to the songs were uninspired. That's my take. I forgot that I took some video clips to share with you. I'll get those to you soon. I guess they wanted to show off and blow their budget after years of problems in the music industry. Glad you liked at least most of the music. Yes, middle aged unfashionable men then and now is an interesting reflection and observation. More uncool now. I did think rename the latest album the hypno-prog. Escape to the country is fantasy living abd viewing for me too. All the retired folks move to middle of nowhere then realise they are old and can't get medical services or carers. Waco must be a weird place no? Escape to Waco series would that catch on? Minus the deaths i like a good cult and explaining why they are wrong. Maybe i should start a Debbie Gibson cult fan club (from a safe distance obviously). All the top ten contests and threads are dull as dishwater and i wasn't feeling ironic enough.

Did you know the Santa Misa album?! In which case you were totally correct . I don't think the thread will do much it's often a more simplistic idea that takes off and proves popular. Nearing the end of another year it's been quite a quick one here.
Congrats on the 10yrs Martin, no longer a promising newcomer ; ). I don't think I have any rabbit holes (apart from an obvious one maybe) will have to have a think. At a record fair years ago I did a part exchange and had a couple of records left, one of them being Rain Town. I tried in vain to exchange it and the chap wasn't interested. I relented and said he could have it for free as he had given me a good deal. He still didn't want it!!
Dealers eh, not ready to take your offloading that's shocking....... They were likeable enough Deacon Blue but the 90s wiped them and alot of similar sounding bands.
