Instagram- AdamTheWooATW I loved D23 expo this year ! Had a blast the entire weekend but without a doubt was disappointed with the parks panel . Yes I’m excited for hatbox ghost in mansion and figment meet and greet but holy crap why was this 90 minute presentation just full of filler and board room chat and very little concrete announcements ?
I don't know if Bob Chapek is the one to blame or not but I think Disney is being cheap with their investments in the parks at this time. Also right when Universal has a 3rd park in Orlando on the way. Not the time to be dragging their feet with new stuff IMO
At least you're willing to say it. Not one concrete date for anything. Looked like it was produced by a 13 yr old hosting his first ComicCon clone. Josh's stage presence was just awkward af at best...and this isn't his first rodeo. It was just anything but good.
This was hard to listen to without wanting to say "seriously!" More to come... not very much information about anything. Sad there wasn't anything about Mary Poppins, and agreed with you about no real information. Hopefully there will be more information later. Thanks for sharing this with us even though not much to find out 😉
I'm so glad your D23 experience was awesome, Adam. 🎊👏 🤠That the panel was anticlimatic, the general consensus, makes me wonder. Why would they want people to leave feeling that way? 🤔
Loved your meeting with other vloggers. And Chris Provost with his Cinderella joke was awesome. The look you had was priceless. Love all of you. You made my day! Bizebeegranny Jeanne Rose from Wickenburg Arizona ❤️
💯agree. Everything seems so far from Walt’s original vision nowadays. I know change is inevitable but they’ve taken so much nostalgia out of the parks. Put up rides with screens and 3d glasses instead of cool animatronics and interesting ideas. And everything is very obviously money-driven. At least in the past they came up with stuff that was actually worth spending the money on. So disappointing
You know that ip has always been a thing in the park right Cinderellas castle Mr toad Pinocchio Alice in wonderland Swiss family Robinson Tom sawers Island are all ip ip has always been a thing
@@KT16352 Of course it's money driven. This is a large woke for-profit corporation that has invested billions of dollars into the parks and whose stock is not performing well this year as we head into an economic downturn. Unfortunately it's no longer a small company run by Walt and Roy. They don't have the vision or great Imagineers like Bob Gurr, Joe Rohde and Tony Baxter nor even a great CEO like Michael Eisner now.
The Disney fans in the panel room were beyond disneyfied, they cheered at absolutely everything. They could have announced new bathrooms being opened in Fantasyland and they still would have cheered at 200 decibels. I agree with you, overall it was a VERY lackluster disappointing D23.
Wouldn't doubt there are at least a few bought and paid for plants in that crowd...they love to do that to review their junk like the terrible Star Cruiser Hotel and other things...give them free trips , rooms etc at the cost of GUSHING over EVERYTHING and reading the script they are told to...because if they do not , they get removed from the Disney invite list...
When I was a cast member ( banquet bars at the Disneyland Hotel ('94-'04) we would have cast member Christmas parties at the park for two nights. The first year I was there for it ( 94) Eisner was inside the corndog wagon at the end of Main Street handing out corndogs. It was weird having Eisner hand me a corndog.
Eisner is the Walt of my Disney Era too! He almost got Mel Brooks on board for a Young Frankenstein attraction at MGM, but they went with Twilight Zone instead aka TOT. Still awesome. Heard a lot of hoopla yesterday about this panel, mostly negative head shakes. Great video buddy good to see everyone having fun out there.
Eisner was great but seemed to really struggle after Wells died; however he did oversee unprecedented expansion of the Disney brand. He certainly took a beating in books such as “Disney War” but in reflection he was absolutely the best thing to have happened to Disney at that time in the company’s history.
It is obvious that Disney has no plans to invest any money into domestic parks in the next decade. I hope they at least keep the parks in good shape, clean and painted.
Did anyone else notice there were no children here? Just depressed adults? Don't you realize what you're doing? You guys paid this company money to see.... an ad. This whole event is a giant ad.
Nothing will change until people stop going to the parks. Not just fans, everyone. Until we can actively campaign against them, instead of doing their marketing for them, nothing will change.
Disney could learn a thing or two from Universal. Start building your projects irl, build fan speculation as to what they could be, and then announce them when the time is right and all the finer details are ironed out. Heck, Universal hasn't officially announced the rides at Epic Universe. That's only a couple of years away from completion and it's a whole damn theme park, not one land or ride! Disney is in the business of overpromising and underdelivering, and the reality of projects is constantly significantly worse than what's promised.
The current management seems to be riding the coattails of those who lead before them, and milking the legacy for everything it's worth while championing divisive issues that ultimately will degrade the value and deface the long held image of Walt's World.
An amazingly lackluster end to d23. I did not expect much from the parks panel, but I think they gave us even less than that. At least we get hat box ghost in florida.
I just met a retired gentleman who worked for Disney for 30 plus years today. He was key in the behind the scenes lighting and effects for the rides at Epcot. Just before Epcot opened he spent 32 days working 12 plus hour days getting the rides set with effects and lighting. His most cherished is Spaceship Earth. I can’t wait to hear more of his stories!
When you and Brickey and Jay and company are disappointed by the news about the Disney parks, you know they are not headed in the right direction. The magic is quickly evaporating
Disney has forgotten about people and turned into a money grab. It's a shame and Walt would be so upset with how his dream turned out. I can't even get annual passes unless it's pixie
I think Walt would be more upset with so many of the male visitors in tattoos and tank tops. I think he would be disappointed with the physical appearance of so many obese mothers whose only exercise each year is when they are running through the parks while attempting to redeem their next Quick Serve.
Most underwelming panel ever....I feel bad for the folks who waited in line for hours and paid all that money to get a bunch of maybes and things we already know from reading micechat.
Even the Dizney sheep's cheering seemed subdued as the panel went on. Until Universal's new parks start eating into the Disney parks attendance and bottom line, why bother building new major attractions.
It really feels like this new Disney is living paycheck to paycheck. They are so fake and constantly promising things that do not see the light of day. “I promise, I’ll get my rent paid next week!”
Thank you for your honest feedback. Very disappointed, sounds like nothing big is going on. Prices keep going up with less and less. Meanwhile Universal is adding another park due to open in less than two years.
The fact that there is no plan, nor any inkling of an urge, for any refresh or REDESIGN of a new Tomorrowland at Disneyland - and allowing the current embarrassing hobbled fiasco to flounder as before - is truly heartbreaking. And indicative of the corrupt, political and gutless wankers who embody the current Walt Disney-drained corporate wasteland. And to think of the wondrous and mysteriously sentient decades at the original Tomorrowland that is now simply a tribute to ignorance and melancholy.
Your reaction to the Figment meet and greet was exactly the same as mine. YES OH MY GOD THEY'RE REDOING IMAGINATION aww hell no it's just a meet and greet 😤😤😤 This whole panel was BS.
"I've gotta get a reservation" lol! Made me laugh. All the vloggers you interacted with made this like a best of the best! Nice coverage Adam. What a disappointment the park panel was.
All content creators: Woaaaaaaa!” Adam: “very disappointing”. And that is why I watch Adam because he doesn’t crawl up Disney’s you know what. One of the only content creators who is honest and ORIGINAL. Love it❤️
@@graeme4540 he is not a sell out and he is also nice to the smaller content creators. With all the [bleep] that went on this week, I have really come to appreciate that.
@@Brandon-qd2lb the younger ones, who really depend on Disney and their media list, I get it. It’s a catch 22. Adam doesn’t need Disney and that’s cool. But he doesn’t (mis)use the younger ones either. Adam does his own thing (and I really love the road trips vlogs too, America is huge!) and that’s the best. I love true genX😂
Yep. Ironically, it’s Disney’s cheapest customers who are doing most of the complaining. The Season Pass is a losing proposition for Walt Disney World. It clutters the parks with groups of people who don’t spend much money when they’re visiting the parks.
The old way: Add more capacity and fun things to do, have more guests in the parks, make more money The new way: Add more hotels, have more guests in the park, charge more for what is already there, charge for things that used to be free
Regifted gifts we already knew about, meet and greets and easy win fan favorite shows, as well a rethemed food court at DLR. So much missing. It probably took 5 minutes to plan that panel this year.
Your reaction after Chris’ joke had me 🤣 His dad jokes are always on point lol. Great video but especially loved the Nathan, Justin and Chris cameos. You guys all have such great genuine chemistry together. Take care 🤗
I couldn't agree more. First trip to Disney was 79 and the magic of the good ol days is only a faint glimmer of what it used to be. I hope leadership gets their eyes off the numbers and back on creating magic!
That depends. If they stay with their all rollercoasters all the time method, then there are a lot of us who will stop going to parks rather than switch to them. Right now Universal doesn't have enough rides I would want to go on to be worth the cost.
What's even worse is all the blog sites posted the parks announcements as if they were real announcements and not just "hey we are thinking about this"
@@TheDailyWoo as I listen to them through you ....it felt like the crowd was not as excited...they couldn't even get the people excited ... They really did a poor job....sorry to say once universal gets their humongous new place open in Florida Disney will be washed out ... sadly they did this to themselves...high prices with Genie and paying to park when staying at their resorts ECT ECT ECT...you know it's just sad ...something that was a dream for Everyone to enjoy is gone !!!
This presentation was overall just sad and sooo aggravating. But I think unfortunately it is just one of many examples of the crappy company Disney has grown into since Chapek that has no interest in actual park investment. To be clear, “meet and greets” are not park investment, it is a “look the other way and not at universal” distraction.
what if, what if, what if, what if. total joke. None of that will ever get done. Look how much is not getting done at Epcot. Looked how badly they screwed up the 50th Anniversary of Magic Kingdom.
Hmm. It's a possibility. I think since the foeeign governments have more control over spending, their just letting Disney do whatever they want. Though Florida legislature most likely won't go through with the removal of RCID since they don't want taxplayer blood on their hands during campaign season. I think Disney is just continuing to cut back in the American parks, since it's obvious people will just keep going.
You make a very good point. Also maybe the boycotts are slowly taking effect. Most people make their WDW vacation plans a year in advance. Maybe the advance reservations for next year are down.
Sir Woo! First time - long time: sharing the deflation over the announcements and that vaguely threatening "blue sky" presentation... but watching the communal grief and analysis between you and your peers was a surprise coping mechanism and a great relief. You guys are awesome. We're massive fans over here, your coverage of not just Disney but the American Experience(tm) is TOPS. Cheers, safe travels!
Love this take on getting everyone's reactions as well of the 4 of you, crazy funny. Thanks for sharing this, It is Amazing, and nice meeting you. Great!
Hopefully there really are some “blue skies” in the future. Lots of promises let’s see what gets built. Still wishing all of the previous things announced prior to Covid were happening, but such is life. Thanks for all the footage from D23 Mr The Woo!
Three things we got out of the panel that was relevant: Figment meet n greet, The Hatbox Ghost is coming to WDW, and the biggest one that matters: Happily Ever After is coming back
Loved your live reaction coverage. It was more entertaining than the lackluster Parks Panel Presentation! Nice to see you having fun back here in So Cal!
I'd have an anxiety attack being around all those people. Thank you for your take on the D23 Parks Panel. Unfortunately, I don't think a lot of what they said will come to fruition. Glad HEA is coming back & The Haunted Mansion is getting The Hatbox Ghost at Magic Kingdom. But I'll believe it when I see it. I feel that WDW got the short end of the stick. Correct me if I'm wrong. Still no nighttime parade.
I love that you are very honest and open with your thoughts and feelings. Too many vloggers and content creators refrain from that. I agree that this parks panel was very underwhelming, which is unfortunate, with so much that needs to be updated in the parks. I would love to see your thoughts and experiences on the cruises and at the overseas parks in the future. Great video as always Adam!
I really wish I would have run Into you at D23 just to say hello again. And meeting Justin would have been great!!! Thanks for all the years of great content!
This is starting to remind me of how they put cheap rides in DCA and AK when they opened. Chapek is one of those guys pretty much hated by the fans and its starting to appear Wall Street as well.
I see lots of people complaining about the parks announcements. Disneyland Paris had loads of announcements! I think a lot of Americans forget that Disney is an international company. There is a massive market for Disney in Europe and Asia, both of which have larger populations than the US. Remember, there are only two American Disney resorts; one in Europe (Paris) and three in Asia (Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong). In fact, Bob Iger said that his biggest achievement as CEO was building Shanghai Disney.
I was very disappointed with the D23 Expo parks panel. I am very upset that they didn’t mention the Mary Poppins ride in Epcot, I guess it’s canceled. I am very excited about San Fransokyo though. I’m also excited about the Disney Treasure, although i’m pretty loyal to Carnival so i’m not sure if i’ll go on it lol.
Thank so much for covering it for us Adam, great vlog as usual. But… Chapek sucks….. I said it & will keep saying it. We keep losing everything, not gaining anything & keep paying more for less Bcs of Chapek.
The best thing that came out in that panel for me is that Happily Ever After is coming back. If Disney had told everyone from the beginning that Enchantment was a temporary show for the 50th, I think they could have avoided a lot of the bad feedback on it. But still, that isn’t something that should be one of the major announcements at D23. And when are they going to bring back all the parking lot trams at WDW? Maybe they’re saving that to be one of their major announcements for D23 in 2024.
Thanks for your thoughts and I agree with you. It was underwhelming with the announcements- they can do so much better. The interaction and reactions and jokes between the guys was the best way to see D23 panel. Adam has done it again- keeping real and fun. Safe travels!!
HEY ATW...VERY INTERESTING DISNEY ANNOUNCEMENTS, I mean lack of announcements!! Your interviews of all the vloggers was the BEST! Great seeing everyone: Paging Mr. Morrow, Justin Scarred, Provost, Brickey, Fresh Baked and of course,Jay! Thanks ATW! Really awesome!
You have to do a Disney race!! They are so fun. With all your exercising you will easily be able to do it. I ran the Princess 5k in 2016 with my daughter. I'm recovering from a small stroke and plan to run the Princess 1/2 in 2024. Love that silly Chris! Thanks for the video! 😊
Thanks for taking the time to chat with us in line. That was pretty disappointing parks panel. I thought the walk-around characters were just to warm up the crowd but nope. They were the highlight.
Love video's with you and any of your friends, just so hilarious, Provost was saving that joke about Cinderella's slipper all convention lol, and it was well worth it.
Again, I think Epic Universe might be done before Tron and I think Disney put all it's effort into Cruise ships and the Fantasy area/new hotel in Tokyo. Universal is going to give them a run for their money with Mario Land opening up. I have boys, they could take or leave Disney, but they love Nintendo. Once again, Disney puts the cart before the horse. Lots of filler...lots.
Thank you for covering the convention Adam. Though the news were lackluster it was nice seeing you have a good time with a few friends(I was hoping you would meet up with Justin! =) ). It's almost as if Disney is enjoying watching Tomorrowland decaying before their very eyes... maybe it was a sign they had no real news to give when they announced things would be live streamed or has that always been a thing they do? Maybe they're holding out till the 100th celebration to surprise everyone.
Omg, bit with Chris Provost on the floor was too funny. Love the laughing response y’all had (perfect groups incl David) to the parks panel, exactly the tone it deserved. Not mad, not serious, just right. Tunnel notes from Walt is the best thing. Saw on Fresh Baked I think as well I think. What an important bit of history. Amazing, would have loved to see that in person, it’s huge.
i love the free flowing style of your videos. You never know what your gonna get, it's really fun. One small note/complaint: if you see a Wall-E robot again, please show more of it. Wall-E is one of my favorite Pixar movies, I've always wanted to see a robot of him in real life.
I've never been more targeted with the Figment clickbait. How? How? Disney is actually looking at a dumpster fire and saying "Eh! The fans love it! Let's give 'em a meet and greet! That'll make up for it!". 😐
