As a foster and adoptive parent, I haven't run into many "Karens" in my time but here's a little story about the one time I did and why we shouldn't judge each other.
New subscriber here!!! Really enjoying your content, thank you for sharing your life and stories - huge help and a great motivator. We are licensed, but only through an adoption of our niece. I've always dreamed of fostering and feel this particular path has been God's plan to get us there. As far as the Karen who decided to disrupt your momentum in getting your family fed....I truly believe she was a distraction to prevent an accident (you were about to drive off). God has interesting ways to plant people and sprinkle them throughout our days, even the most hectic ones. If you believe in this sort of intervention of course, but this is always my way of understanding why the most bizarre things can happen and why certain people, strangers, feel the need to inject themselves in your life out of nowhere...especially when we're in a hurry and distracted. 😆 Also, she sounds like she was likely feeling triggered by the neglect she is feeling in her life. Maybe she was that child in her story and never spoke up for herself, or is that woman now being ignored. By approaching a stranger, she had the courage to vent her frustrations without any real consequence...you seemed to be someone she didn't have to fear speaking to that way. I'm sorry this happened, because you certainly didn't deserve it or need this upset in the middle of an already stressful moment. It's not to minimize her impact on how it made you feel, no-one should be treating others this way because you're right, outsiders cannot assume by what they witness in blip of time. ((hugs))
