The Mensch on Menswear I have the 875, 9875 in Golden Russet, 9874 In Black Klondike & the Iron Ranger in amber harness, started getting into boots about 2 years ago, don’t see many here in the UK it was only after watching videos on RU-vid that I starting to understand what a good quality boot is, and redwing Heritage range has to be one of the best out there.

Haha yeah this is definitely my favorite leather from red wing! Just super unique in color and finish and they continue to get better over time. I hope they keep you dry!
the spitfire leather looks really cool! I have the 9060 beckman in klondike which are very similar! I did a video about it a few weeks ago check them out!
Are Redwings boots true to size ? I've seen lots of people wearing moc toes and pictures sometimes looks like clown shoes like if it was way too big, im a 43eu or 9.5us in Nike do you think i should stick with it ?
Great boot. The 8138 is my favourite moc toe. I have the chukka in Briar Oil leather and it is indeed beautiful. I may need the moc toes as well at some point.
Yeah its such an amazing leather type! And the color is only getting better as it lightens up! I think im also going to have to get the chukka soon! Although I also want the Moc Toe in Oro Russet !

I gotta admit I am only recently introduced to red wing from coming on youtube. I never heard the name red wing till a couple of months ago, seeing as I am in the UK. and since then i have acquired both the 8138 and 8137. bought both on ebay of course but they are next to new. @@TheMensch I really like them. They are very robust and since I wear a lot of Raw Denim, they match to a lot of my outfits. For a more 'elegent' look I've got a cognac Chukka from RW. :-D
They do have on the web but I have much better luck at my local NR- it seems that they pick and choose which stores get the red wings and for some reason the metro area ones seem to get a lot! Sometimes they pop up on the site but often they sell out within minutes! They’re in high deman!
Can you make a video on how you'd style these boots? I have the 875's and am looking to branch out of the construction worker cosplay look most of us have with Mocs and raw denim.

Good question! I think it depends on the batch and the portion of leather they use. Also, mine are new and have lightened up considerably since this video. How old are yours?
@@TheMensch mine are brand new from a store. I didn't know if you or maybe who you bought them from, oiled them or, like you said, maybe it's just the leather portion. Anyways great video, thanks for the response.
Haha im glad RWs have piqued youre interest! Theyre an amazing company! You can, and they can definitely withstand any type of weather! But I always want to keep the leather looking as good as possible for as long as possible, so I rather wear a rain boot made of water resistant leather or synthetic material.
Bought mine last week, they arrive on Tues. About break-in: the salesman said I could soak them in water for 2hrs, wear them for two hours and then let them dry on their side for two days. Do you know anything about this process? Are they going to be ok in a NYC winter? Thanks!
Wow that’s quite the sales pitch! I’m not sure if I’d recommend doing that but I definitely have worn these in the NY winters and in snow with heavy wool socks and they do okay. I just rather have a cheap pair of snow boots (I have from lands end) that are insulated since these are unlined and just won’t do a great job of keeping your feet warm
Just 110 dollars? 😲Wow! they almost gave it for free in America compared to the price we have to pay for a Red Wing Boot here in Europe. We pay 300€ for that model here. If a pair of shoe costs more than a set of new tires for my car then they are just to overpriced.
Wow that’s unreal! But I’ll say I did buy these used so that was the reason for the heavy discount. There are probably very few of used red wings available overseas since they’re harder to come by. Guess you’ll have to take a trip to US soon!
Peter Hollomon interestingly enough they fit very differently. I ended up getting the same size but they got much more “squarely” around the front of the boot. There’s a lot more wiggle room in the toes. I’d say either get your usual size or size up and use an insert. I’m actually meaning to try out red wings own inserts. They’re pricey as hell!

haha good! I really believe that everybody should own a pair of them. If everyone knew how much better a pair of Red Wings were not only would they look better and feel better, but they'd be supporting a real American business.
