How many amps are running through that cord? You need the proper gauge wire for X amount of amps drawn or bad things can happen..Oh and make sure you follow your codes if any for parallels, tails, how many outlets allowed and required, etc
@@MrAnderson5157 Are you talking about the Bluetti System :)? Everything is designed to work for the system. I'm not exactly sure all of the details but I'm assuming since it's cUL that everything is compliant or else my inspector wouldn't allow it.
You have done an amazing job on your home. Any electrician would be proud to have you as an apprentice, especially the way you made that panel look. I’ve done electrical work for 40 years and have been doing maintenance for 20. I was told years ago, “Make it look like you would do it in your home”. I’ve been told so many times that I was wasting money and time but I give them that explanation and they agree and that’s what keeps the customer coming back. I love maintenance and diagnosing problems, like you did with the arc fault. Start at the beginning until you find the problem. Keep up the good work and keep smiling. We’re all here and support you. Thank you for your videos.
I agree! You understand what you are doing, you would make a good electrician. Your ability to explain the work you are doing is proof you understand it!
I watched this the other day Biataso glad the hear the bounce back and strength shining through. Keep up the great work. For me I can see the finish line. Build, build, build!
Hi Biata! Been watching your videos for a while now. I work technical, service and have been schooled to work with electrical equipment and install - automation. Seeing your work on the electrical panel was really good to see and I was amazed by the look after you finished the panel and especially the tags you did. It will save you or anybody who looks for faults or checks the wires after this is connected finished all over and eventually problems that can occur. Very good work 👍🏼 The wires you have outside should be loped where the connecting point is between two cables to prevent them to come apart. Btw: Your wood work is also amazing. You’re quite tough, and does much more than the normal female does (stereotypically). Keep up the good work! I’m sure it will be a very good moment when all is done with the home and more fun projects as adjusting life and how to utilize your home and garden. The winner is your whole family and you will be the main reason👍🏼
Keep on going on. You have taken on a huge task with an incredible amount of research and fortitude. There have only been a few videos where I have been, " No don't do that!" and yet by the end of of the video you have already discovered the right way and then do it. You are doing awesome - keep it up! I am impressed by your research and willingness to tackle it all! You will have your castle before long!
Your endurance and hardiness has been pretty inspiring! Bought 10 acres in the Muskoka area to build my own ICF home on now! Hoping it'll be less steps in labour and inspection ultimately
I have to say you did a better job on the breaker box than I have seen Pros do. The place is coming along. Keep it up don't rush. TAKE CARE and STAY WELL
Just before the end of the video I found myself smiling at your joy of finishing the electrical. I'm so proud of you Biata! .... And then you hit us with the news of the front door roof cover. We all make mistakes honey, so now you have to wait. Clean up the yard, clean up the inside of the house and most of all, hang with that beautiful daughter of yours..... Stay cool!
When you replace "why is this happening to me" with "what is this trying to teach me?" everything shifts. And don't forget that you are a very smart and awesome lady
This was a great job to get finished and out of the way. It’s a win for you after a set back and it also gives a great feeling of accomplishment. You needed both of these. It’s a small win to celebrate and now you can regroup and get a plan together to finish this build. Keep at it you will get there
You have done an amazing job don't let anybody cut you down. I built a house one time for an electrical inspector I was back to do some more work and I asked him who inspected the inspector it was a terrible job.
It was 97% humidity in Ct a few days ago. I’m sorry about the hold up in your plans…..Your doing an amazing job. Don’t be discouraged. I love your video’s 💯and I’m here rooting for you.
OMG the electrical panel looks absolutely incredible! 🤩 I don't know if I've ever seen one look that good. Good to make sure none of the wires or receptacles are hot (temperature wise) from a loose connection when everything is hooked up as you probably know. :)
You are doing great! To facilitate wiring, plumbing and HVAC, you should take many pictures of the open walls. That would have helped determining which wire was coming from panel and which was downward.
Your panel looks like a professional did because a professional did do it. You are a professional because you take the time to do it right… you researched the proper way and did it yourself. Love your work , the way you and your family work together. That’s professional in itself. Good job!!❤
I am so impressed with your ability to take this project on pretty much by yourself. I am retired general contractor and I have been watching your progress since you started keep your head up and press on.
Great job! Glad you found something to boost confidence. Don't let that one negative voice steal time and play in your mind. You are a rockstar with the work you have accomplished.
As a woman I am so proud of you for standing up for what is right in an industry dominated by men. It’s people like you doing what is brave and right that make things better for those who don’t have that strength! Thank you 😊
Good morning 🌅, Biata , what a great sense of achievement, wiring by Biata ,Art Work, everybody makes mistakes, even when people have been in the trade for many years, it’s just taking a step back, resolving the problem, and going forward, and you are well and capable of doing that, well done, I am or was a self-taught specialist joiner cabinet maker, Over the last 10 to 15 years, I’ve had to make some special windows and doors, that had to comply with certain type of building regulations, and because I had spent money on some special tooling, I knew that the window that are making with extra seals and special joints, that they were going to be over engineered and will exceeded specifications, I have made certain windows with what they call flying millions , It is where you open both windows up and is no middle framework, Keep up the great work it all looks amazing. You will get there in the end. , ❤❤from France,
@@SimpleLivingwithBiata Yes, work very hard all my life, thank you, just to find out my Ex female partner, was trying to take it all away from, I’m now retired living in a old property in France , Moulin/ Mill no longer able to restore, insufficient funds, Keep up the great work, Stay Safe, France.
You have taught yourself so much - the amount of new things you try every DAY is way more than the average human. It’s deeply inspiring to watch you work, learn, make a mistake, give yourself grace and keep working. We can do hard things!
That electrical panel looked great. That’s what you strive for when you’re an electrician. If you need something to do maybe it’s time to build that chicken coop.
Biata, you truly are amazing. Your grit and determination are inspiring to any out there who want to build their own home. Keep your chin up your house is going to be amazing.❤
As an EE and electrician I’d hire you in a heartbeat. To many of my employees don’t take enough pride in their work and you can’t teach that.. you’re a Rock Star…
Turning a setback into a comeback with your building inspection update is truly inspiring. Your perseverance and dedication to making things right highlight your strong character and commitment to achieving success. Your journey is a testament to resilience and growth. And I am Floating Village Life.
The electrical is awesome. I’ve owned 5 or 6 homes that were professionally wired and none of them were wired and labeled as good as what you have done. Your awesome. Lord Jesus grant Biata Grace and Favor with a real professional inspector that appreciates the capability of a hard working and determined woman. Let this inspector “teach” as well as inspect. Lord also give her Favor with the architect to speedily accept the revisions Biata has made and get the new drawings approved. Amen
Dont give up or get upset with any comments from anybody, you are doing such a fantastic job on building your dream home, keep smiling beautiful lady, god bless from china.
I think you are doing amazing job and things happen but don't let that get you down and just remember that you are mostly building this on your own and I have faith that things will work out and you will get back on track and good luck and be safe and see you next Sunday and God bless you
These are some excellent strategies for coping with the frustration and disappointment with that inspection. Do what you know how to do. Make it beautiful (and yes that's great. Makes me want to pull my box and start over. Well okay, no). Build your competencies and keep at it. It is not unusual to fail and inspection, even for pros, but the way it all went down definitely stings. I believe you will ultimately prevail and be better for it!
Thank you so much! Did you hear me mention your comment to me at the beginning of the video? I believe you told me to complete a project from start to finish. Thank you for that!
You talk like someone that is giving us a electrical courses, you are good madame ..loll Seriously it is wonderful for all you did almost all alone all the time ..
I didn’t say anything late week as others have made supportive comments, However thinking about what you said, I doubt the inspector has done anything like you’ve done! You’re amazing and your sounding so positive.
Great job this week Rockstar! Keep your head up kiddo you got this! You will be moving on to drywall before you know it and back to the chiropractor for an adjustment! 😂😂😂😂😂. See you next week! 😊
Great to see you back to it with high hopes and a winning attitude. I sub several channels tgat post on Sundays and you are my favorite! Always inspirational, entertaining and informative. Thanks for great programming I look forward to every week!
You are an inspiration for your viewers. Learning includes doing things right and doing somethings wrong. The lessons are helping others who watch your videos what to look out for. As a novice, you will make assumptions that hurt. Keep asking questions and doing the research. The power panel is absolutely outstanding, much better than I would ever have done. Remember how far you have come and how much knowledge you have aquired. Always keep a positive attitude, even when it doesn't quite feel that way. A loyal follower of an amazing woman.
Biata the panel looks fantastic. Hold your head high. Even the pro's make mistakes. You are a formidable woman who has great character. Much love from Washington state USA
Excellent job on everything you have done and keep your head up high you have accomplished so much by yourself and dont blame you on getting different inspector and nobody deserves to be treated like that.
My electrical inspector is kind and so chill. He obviously does the job right and makes sure it's to code. But he's awesome and I'm hoping he's happy when he sees my panel!
Dumb, look around at what you’ve achieved, your house is beautiful! And I think it’s great you’re showing your mistakes, definitely an inspiration, this is your little blip and will pass soon and be a distant memory, you got this girl!
On the Flex connections between the panel & the electrical box, I did see bushings installed which are required. Your panel might fail inspection if there are no bushing & the inspector notices them missing. Ground does not effect if the circuit is running hot. In fact the ground & neutral are tied together at the breaker panel. the issue could be you either have a bad breaker that isn't tripping, or you have a 20 amp breaker on a cord that is rated for 10 amps or less. A lot of those black short extension cables are not rated for 20 amp loads (usually have 18 gauge wire). The ground is there to address if the hot line is exposed (ie fraided wire, lose connection, etc). Most electrical devices have a ground shield so if the hot wire comes in contact it will short to ground. Ground also works with Ground fault protectors which the GFCI outlet\breaker sees current passing through the ground that it trips & cuts off power for safety. FYI: better option is to get a breaker panel with Plug-On-Neutral for all your arcfault circuits. Much easier to install. For critical loads, I recommend just installing a full second breaker panel & leave your circuit cables long so you can move them. odds are, your probably going to want to change which circuits are your critical loads. For those short runs between electrical enclosures I recommend using Short Rigid EMT threaded pipes since you can run more circuits through & less likely to get snagged on a MC Flex tubing. Its pretty easy to install short rigid EMT.
Humidity in Ontario: it can be so humid that the air becomes so solid, that one can chew it I know from experience! I lived in Fergus, Ontario for 8 years, then moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba for three years. And it can be so cold there! Brrrrrr! I am still trying to warm up.
When it comes to making a hole saw hole bigger you can actually sometimes get away with installing the larger hole on your mandrill and then attach the smaller one inside the larger one. The smaller one will act as a pilot for the bigger one. Also you could cut the correct hole size in a piece of plywood and attach it over the hole you want to make bigger then the plywood would act as a guide. Done it both ways. Best of luck with your adventures
You are doing great on your house. I work for a big electrical contractor company in san antonio texas. On your plans, sometimes changes need to be done to accommodate obstacles. Keep up the good work. On your panel take the sleeve off of the wiring. Some inspectors will fell it for that. Take a picture of the panel. Before you remove them. So you transfer to the dead front of the panel
Thank you so much! I connected with Eddie and he said the sheathing on the wires in the panel is okay, BUT, maybe I’ll ask my inspector before he comes. No need for unnecessary deficiencies
You're electrical panel wiring looks better than any professionally done panel in a house I've ever owned, not to mention labeled nicely. I don't know what half the breakers go to in my current home cause most of them aren't labeled.
Not sure if anyone has told you but you purchased a plug on neutral panel so you should have purchased plug in arc fault and gfci breakers. Plug in breakers do not have a white wire to terminate making for an easier install. Keep it up you are doing fine.
I have to say you always amaze me with your ability to learn new skills. I’m a 67 year old woman and I wish I had the confidence you have when I was your age. I’m glad you won’t let one very little man ruin your vibe you’ve got this. ❤
You are pretty hard on yourself which you shouldn’t be. But, I think it makes you stronger and causes you to push harder because proud of what you’ve done. I keep saying I’m impressed and I still continue to be impressed. You need a pat on the back and a big hug. 🤗 😊
Wow. That panel.... And the wiring... MANY professionals could learn from that. Labelling/ routing/ connecting. Glad to hear you were on time to get that pump-issue fixed. Just like one of the viewers said, @madelinebachelder, the sheer amount of new things you try, learn... Don't let ANYONE give you attitude. I do think you need to rename your channel.... SimpleLivingWithWonderWoma! Sub +1 Oh, and a few weeks rest, to tackle other little things around the house/ property.... Not per say a bad thing, but I hear you.
