My Reliant Scimitar GTE Fails To Start

Finally, I get a bit of spare time and a dry weekend to have a crack at getting my 1980 Reliant Scimitar GTE SE6A started again.
It was driven into the workshop over a month ago to solve some leaks; including rear wheel cylinder and diagnose a gearbox leak. Sadly that is where it has stayed every since due to work, weather and other circumstances beyond my control.
That is all about to change in this next instalment of #ScimitarShenanigans - Episode 3.

Yes it seems to be. Yet to put some good mileage on it to see if its reliable but if its not then thats just the joy of classic ownership. Thanks forr the comment 👍

Great sounding cars especially from the rear, the twin exhausts really set the tone, good work getting her starting properly

Has it got an auto choke carb that works using coolant temp? Had one on my mk3 Cortina ( 2 ltr) hell of a job starting on some cold mornings .Also is that a coolant temp sensor that's not connected on that pipe near the battery? Great channel and upload bye the way.

It may well have done in the past as that coolant sensor hasn't been connected in my ownership. Its on a 38 carb and manual choke currently. Whether its been converted because of what you say about cold mornings who knows. Thanks for the comments. I'm glad you like the channel. LOTS more to come on the Scimitar and many many other projects not yet highlighted in videos :)

What the hell are you thinking of, using E10.........Try E0.

Ahh you see I never said I used E10 fuel. I just want the fuel lines that are rated to withstand it as they are of better spec and more durable for the long term to generic lines. Plus, heaven forbid I get caught out and have no option but to have an E10 splash and dash then I wouldn't be overly concerned :)
