Most “comedians” are more sensitive than the people they joke about. I used to like (still listen to old clips from years and years ago) Anthony Cumia and now he CAN NOT HANDLE 1/10 of the stuff he says about others.
I feel like he was less reacting to Moistcr1tikal’s video and more reacting to the wave of hate he got afterwards. (Viewers love to pick on people who seem less than themselves after all). I’m sure he would have been fine with Charlie’s video but I’d imagine the whole audience got sent over to him and blasted him with hate. It’s obviously not Charlie’s fault, but I can understand how the dudes come to act this way
If I had a penny for every time Dennis got personally offended for being criticized for his stupid actions. I’d have enough money to have my own terrible comedy event
I feel for every girlfriend that asked this dude to pick up after himself. I can imagine the "I have committed the sin of all sins!" speech he gives when asked to move remotely from his comfort zone... If this was a 21 year old, I'd have hope for this learning experience, but the guy's over 30, so my optimism is limited.
penguinz0 says ....High School drama exercise???? LOL while his whole channel is high school drama... he picks something and then he starts to mock it and when someone comes calling him out for it, then he uses the " IT'S A JOKE BRO" defence. penguinz0 seems to be a passive aggressive asshole.
It happens to me too sometimes to take a joke personally when i didn't knew, it's just hard sometimes to see good when you go trough a shit situation i guess, i'm not saying the dudes video is justified obviously but it can be easy for a joke to fly over your head in an intense situation (To Defnoodles eyes) after a floppy event and tons of people laughing at you.
I like how he got upset about Charlie criticizing him when he literally hosted an event about youtubers roasting each other. Isn't that what he wanted!?!?
Def Noodles was the only RU-vidr there. He tried to get RU-vidrs who have criticized him in the past to come “say it to [his] face” and they all said, “nah, I already said it all online” And then it turned out that he would only select two people who paid for tickets the opportunity to say anything to him onstage at the event. Those two winners were announced, they were rando nobodies, and then I guess didn’t even go to the show? Commentary RU-vidrs have been giving Def Noodles the exact same criticisms for over 2 years, he cannot change.
I had a roommate a lot like this. They're a glorified narcissist that thinks everything they do, say, and make is pure gold and get personally insulted and offended if they get anything other than praise.

Mark my words, Def Noodles has developed a cocaine habit. Aggression, inflated ego, inability to reason, sallow skin, dark bags under eyes, and weight loss.
I love how comediants will give a lecture about comedy being "censored" these days and "no one can take a joke" (usually when trying to excuse shitty racists/sexist "jokes") and then will not be able to take jokes when they are being the subject of the joke
Yeah, that was like watching a person who got hurt, pretending really hard not to be hurt. I really don't understand why people think it's a good idea. If you want to be in comedy, learn to laugh at yourself - even if it hurts, just learn to do it, lol.
Def seems like that guy we all knew in school who would pick on people and tell really hurtful things to people and then say "its just a joke" or "its just a prank". But the minute that someone gave him a taste of his own medicine he would run crying to the teachers.
I knew a guy similar like that in high school. He was such an asshole, especially towards me. I never did anything but he would always just talk shit about me and even throwing racial slurs. I just ignored him. Then one day during break period he tried making fun of me in front of a girl he liked. I just sat there ignoring him, then suddenly he got in a huff and asked me why I was acting like a badass and walked out. Me, the girl and everyone else at the table were so confused but man it was hilarious.

Charlie, this is Nicocado Avocado all over again. Time for a gentle observation. You try to be fair to everyone, but sometimes you give some people too much credit and they milk you for attention as a result. He is trying to get attention and stop you from laughing at his unholy cringe - it's working. Don't take these people seriously!
So, looking now... He's deleted his response to Charlie, and removed the first 27 minutes of his 'Super Roast Battles' video... Charlie really does have the power to change people...
He fumbled the bag. He could have laughed with everyone and used the attention as free marketing for the second roast event where he'd have the opportunity to impress everyone who laughed at the first one by working harder and organising better...
that is exactly what i was thinking when I watched charlie watching the first roast event. Boom free advertising and an easy way to reach peoples expectations this time around
I’m a long time viewer of Def, and he’s been doing this repeatedly this last year or so. It’s really getting obnoxious and the majority of his fans have been trying to tell him to take a break and stop the nonsense. His ego is getting out of control.
I think that's exactly what he's doing, actually. 🤔 Trolling Trisha Paytas-style for promotion. He managed to get Charlie to react to it & get millions of eyes on it. Still really annoying, tho 😭
I actually thought that Charlie was trying to give him a free get-out ticket. He goofs and dunks on the roast but consistently encourages Noodles to do more of it, and emphasizes the joy that can be had by sharing the cringe. He can't lie and say the obviously bad content is good, but he framed it in a fun way, and provided Noodles an opportunity to do the same, if he'd been willing to laugh at himself. I actually had a suspicion that Charlie saw the dunking, felt bad for the dude, and filled his own content with numerous suggestions of how Noodles could roll into it and turn it around. I've seen him do it for other YTers before. But it's not like he could just stand there defending it when it was obviously bad. But self-aware trainwreck disaster content can be fun. It's certainly more of a constructive suggestion than 'this is awful, go die'. So I think it was pretty telling about Noodles that he had the choice of going after all the people who were just mercilessly dunking on it, OR, going after the biggest RU-vidr in the equation who wasn't just trashing it and was even unironically encouraging it to become a series. And yet Nudes still decided to aim the video at (to my knowledge) the one guy who tried being relatively constructive, as far as was possible with what he had to work with. There are a lot of big youtubers and influencers who act as the arbiters and gatekeepers of what people can and should be releasing, what's acceptable or not etc. This just wasn't close to that, but Nudes' response frames it (quite intentionally, I'm sure) as Charlie being the corporate mascot of YT who keeps down the common indie man. Just ludicrous framing.
Lots of people need to get a life, it entertaining but i miss half the vidoes cuz like most people i listen to it in the background. Imagine how pathetic you have to be go sit down and watch the video, other than combing the comments for dumdums.
Imagine taking jokes as "Allegations" and "accusations". It's a roast battle and he took all those jokes like it's full on recorded by a stenographer on a court legal words.
Yeah u remember when Keemstar jokingly said on twitter that Def noodles grooms young girls or something like that and Def actually made a lawsuit against him and def said it was “deformation” 🤣
Is he not just trying to break into the “I got cancelled” anti-woke snoozefest hustle? Cause thats exactly what this looks like, any number of talentless hacks switching to where the content writes itself and the money comes easy.
Charlie, don't go too deep into this. Now that Def Noodles has your attention, he's probably gonna try and goad you for more responses and, if that doesn't work, probably escalate.
I feel like Charlie is aware of that fact. This response video was very gentle overall. He even compliments and says positive things toward the guy more than once along the way. Here's hoping it calms him down a little. That suicide joke was very offputting and scary.
@@PhoenixJape I agree and even if he does try something I'm pretty sure he will just ignore him since it'll be a bit weird for Dennis to make another "response" video about him
I love how he says "allegations" like he's being accused of something illegal or immoral. *Opinions* are not *allegations.* People are allowed, both legally and morally, to criticize any content you put on the internet. Nobody is "alleging" that the event was poorly planned and executed even worse. That's their opinion, and they're allowed to express it. It's something you have to accept when making online content, especially comedy. Charlie didn't even go after the guy that hard, he was criticizing the event itself (side note: criticisms of your work or creative endeavors are NOT criticisms of you as a person) as well as the participants and the general concept of "roasting" someone you don't even know.
Youre 100% right but for people that hide behind their fake blown up ego its hard to accept opinions and criticism for what it is and dont feel attacked by it personally. I thought kids grow out of that phase at some point but i guess theres people that maybe never grow out of that
I think I read somewhere that like 50% of adults (Americans) couldn't consistently distinguish between a "factual" statement (regardless of whether it's the truth) and an opinionated statement.
Yo bruvv I’m a small content creator, and I make a variety of entertaining reactions, vlogs, and a range of other content and I’m still working on quality but I guarantee you will find something you will enjoy!🥊🥊🥊
"I'm deeply apologetic for anyone out there who's traumatized by the free will to click on a video and watch it". Meanwhile, my man's traumatized by his own free will to read negative criticism towards his event
@@Orokana The only real time ive seen charlie be blatantly wrong and confident about it was the ser winter rust thing. and thats only one thing ever, so hes probably talking about def noodles
It's been one of the purest cases of spiraling I've ever seen. He's stuck in an endless feedback loop of responding to criticism with what he's being criticized for. Hope the best for him.
There's your mistake about the guy. He's super high strung and there's nothing he doesn't take personal, ever. Even when he's wrong. His responses are always to jump on the pity band wagon. And the shotgun thing, is absolutely disgusting. He's the asshole that a few weeks ago snapped at someone and told the person to go educate himself at the end of a shotgun. Then used his usual defense of "it's just a juke, brah", "I'm a comedian, and know everything that ever was about jokes, and I made a joke, OK!". And now, he's using his stupid video to divert the heat he got for it by using it on himself.
He's always been like this too, he got equally offended when kavos rated his channel after dennis sent his channel in to be rated. It's just a full blown meltdown this time because his usual tactics aren't working to make things disappear anymore
@@trevst1473 1- I work in prevention, so yeah, asshole comments like that touch a nerve. It's pretty disgusting, no matter who you address it to. 2- He repetitively pulls this kind of shit and then goes on rants of woe is me. We get it, he's the absolute king of misunderstood jokes. A new tag line would be nice.
@@trevst1473 its 2022 ppl should know better than to make cheap kys-"jokes". especially when they're at the same time trying to hold up a career in social media.
I'm gonna start by saying that by no means do I think he's a good dude. However, as a psych student I'm seeing some major red flags such as violent comments towards himself and others (I get the impression that it's projection when he targets others). It's very common to see people with thoughts of self harm and suicide use humor to cope with it and talk about it around other people without immediately alarming them. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think Dennis needs an extended stay in the psych ward... yet. I just think that if he keeps letting internet drama swallow him he's going to end up hanging from his ceiling or with his brains on a wall. I seriously hope the dude realizes the path he's on before things get too serious.
@@theanalyzer0 yeah cuz what is there to even be constructive about when every possible thing sucks. You'd have to pay someone to sit down and constructively criticize that "show"
I think it's his best trait lol. Very cartoon-ish. I hate every word he says, but at least he says it goofy. So it's easier to laugh at him. He's like a jester or dunce. Just point n laugh yanno. The voice fits well for exactly that.
@ٴ I looked at your channel from a different comment section you spammed, I don't understand how 99% of your comment section is actually falling for the bait. Very low quality. Small fish in your pond I guess.
all “drama” aside, i can’t get over how good his background has been getting over the last months, it just got so aesthetically pleasing after having just a bunch of cardboard boxes
The only issue I have with Charlies background is the lack of dog (and kitten). Even just a cameo from the dogs giving Charlie a jump scare improves the videos so much ...
I used to watch him daily when he was the cat in the minecraft house. I was sad when he changed it, but I understood his voice needed a break and kept with him. honestly, his downfall started when he posted the "debate" with another creator and they both just screamed at each other for like an hour and a half. he's been losing people ever since then, and he's been getting more and more insecure since that incident, and with this newest change I find myself staying away from his channel. I'm proud of him for doing what he wants with his time, energy, and resources. I'm not proud for the constant "allegation" videos about himself. Dennis, if you're seeing this, keep going, but please get better. take a break if you need it. your fans care about you but are getting increasingly worried.
I love that he wrote down his entire apology video. Look at his eyes. He's constantly reading to his right. This means he actually sat down and devoted precious time writing this shit lol.
Its like rehearsing a pick-up line you want to tell a chick so youre sure you het it right, only to find out its the worst possible thing you couldve said
Charlie torturing his own audience with someone else's content, but they can't look away for some reason, so beg him to turn it off is a hilarious take.
Yo bruvv I’m a small content creator, and I make a variety of entertaining reactions, vlogs, and a range of other content and I’m still working on quality but I guarantee you will find something you will enjoy!🥊🥊🥊
damn this post sandwich clarity is something else, charlie is super nice to this guy and only wishes him the best. Maybe I should try a peanut butter and honey sandwich
I'm tired of hearing people respond to criticism with _"you didn't have to click on the video."_ Yeah, sure, we didn't. Nobody did. But some people watched, and if they want to share their opinion on it, _you don't have to read it._ But you will, and you'll continue convulsing from the cognitive dissonance until you jump up on your soapbox and make fun of everyone for telling you that you did something stupid. And you'll keep asking yourself _"why would they watch something they don't like?"_ Stop asking the wrong question.
Also, usually when people click on videos, they want to see the content that was advertised to them. A youtuber roast-off sounds sick af. A bad youtuber roast-off is obviously going to get complaints because the premise is cool, but the delivery was garbage.
It really does eat up all of dennis' life. So much of his content, both on RU-vid and Twitter, is going after much smaller creators for criticizing him or not liking him. The fact he's going after much larger and much more established creators is a new level of asshole. He really, really needs to get off the internet and get a real life.
Former subscriber of his channel. I noticed that side of him too as time went on. I think that he has a tendency to be controlling. So when other people do or say something about him that he doesn't like, he just flips. He also got very into getting MORE views, MORE likes, MORE subscribes. I think that's why he changed his content from time to time. I got fed up with the switches and dipped.
You have to appreciate the absolute work he does to just speak the truth, no sugarcoating, no worry for his image, just his pure opinion and what he thinks is true
This guy reminds me of myself when I was 15: Insanely insecure, taking every single bit of criticism personally and being bitterly sarcastic in response, and continuing to do the exact same shit with nothing learned from the first time. Can't wait for 17 more videos from him whining about how "wrong of him" it was to "entertain people without any reimbursement", etc etc.
@@rudymagadan6066 I took it to heart and recognized peoples' criticism of me. The thing that people withhold about personal growth is that it's not always fun: realizing I was an insufferable little cunt hurt. It absolutely sucked to register that I wasn't actually a good person just because "I didn't do anything illegal", and I took a couple years to figure out that talking shit about everyone and blaming other prople for my own (sometimes self caused) problems was how you pit people against you, and not the other way around. Learning to take accountability for my own faults and failures was a long and painful process, but once I stopped impulsively defending myself and shitting on others every time something made me panic, I noticed that a pattern had developed. I would say or do some bone headed thing, people would give me shit for it, and then I would make it worse by responding and trying to play it off somehow. So I stopped doing that. I started listening to people I took for granted. I imagined myself in the position of others. I went from being an edgy little teenager that knew absolutely nothing about people of color, people in poverty, problems other countries were having with the US, and being "begrudgingly tolerant" (biggest yikes of my life right there) of LGBT folks to being someone that bothered to familiarize myself with the other side of a lot of these issues and trying to support them in the least destructive way I could. A lot of it had to do with the environment I lived in growing up, but that didn't excuse me being an absolute dickhead. I had to learn how I was a problem, and how I could undo it. I'm still a dickhead in a lot of ways, I'm sure, but I hold myself accountable for that shit now.
Alot of ppl were upset with the fact that he told someone else to educate themselves at the end of a shotgun barrel on Twitter. What that person said, in my opinion, wasn't them attacking him but more so asking a question. This happened before he made that response video to you, I believe. He essentially used this reply to you as an opportunity to make a jab at those ppl which thinking about it now i'm not suprised considering the tone of the video.
@ٴ my brother in christ I watched your video and his reason to make fun of cringy apology videos is because those people don’t truly care about the apology they only are sad the of the fact they got caught doing something they shouldn’t have and are trying to save their careers
I didn’t think you were insulting him in the other video. At all. How this man still thinks he was funny and continues to be funny is beyond me. Beyond.
@@nymphology44 That’s my point. It’s a reference to a Joker scene where he thinks killing 3 men is funny (obviously it’s not) and his response about it is “Comedy is subjective Murray”
This is the kindest most empathetic response to def noodles anyone had made. He is taking apart, emotional.. I feel bad for the guy. He would benefit from just taking a moment before doing anything.
You can tell he’s upset about Charlie’s video deep down, he’s trying to hide behind a thick layer of irony, but it’s clear as day that it’s bothering him
This video was my first contact with Charlie's content, and having now seen many of them since, I think this one really highlights why he's become such a huge, respected online personality. Charlie's videos are often about making fun of things that are unintentionally funny and the people involved in them, but he can clearly tell when it makes sense to laugh at someone being ridiculous and when to show empathy for a fellow human being. The concern with which he addresses Def's reaction, advising him to take a step back from it all to keep his mental health from spiraling, feels genuine and touching. Other than that, "We're doing a second roast to wrong every right" was such a funny line in the middle of that unhinged rant. It's a shame Def Noodles' talent is taking a step back to his insecurity.
No matter how many times Def gets his screentime here, I can't do anything but help and cringe at everything and his attempts to be hip. I didn't even pay to attend to this roast biz, and I still feel like I got scammed here. Those are minutes that ill never get back.
Well this is definitely my favourite way a celebrity has dealt with drama i was getting bored of forced apology videos I hope this becomes the new meta Like could you imagine if will smith sarcastically said he was sorry for defending his wife because of what Chris rock chose to say that would be wild
@ٴ bro, you left over 1k comments and half of them are bait… you’re gonna have to try harder of you want to find someone to slather your brain across the proverbial walls of a youtube section
There weren’t even any allegations made about him in this whole thing. Charlie like many other commentary RU-vidrs, streamed the event and made fun of it. It’s really not that deep def
This guys complete lack of self-awareness is at a point where I would actually put him in a league of his own; I genuinely can't see him ever being able to take a step back and examine and reflect on his place in life, and maybe changing some things to improve as a person. He is a rare case where I think he is unable to escape his self-inflicted prison; it is impressive in a strange way.
Dude this is just how Def is. He reacts this way to every person that criticizes him, whether it's fair or not. He's always in the right and is incredibly aggressive about it in his videos. I watched him for a while but I just can't listen to it anymore.

I was a def noodles fan for 2 years. He’s become everything he claimed to hate before. Now, anyone who cares about him and leaves constructive criticism automatically becomes a Keemstar fan, a fascist and/or a pdf file. You think his roast show could have been better with x or y? Obvious sign that you’re against universal healthcare. Checkmate, Richard Spencer. It’s really sad, I hope he gets help. The world doesn’t revolve around him (sorry, I forgot to warn about this absolute red pill).
Agreed. It was weird watching it slowly happen. I used to look forward to watching his videos when I wake up and get ready for work and then when he started talking about “haters” heavily I was like how could they be trying to mess with him he doesn’t do anything… and then I decided to investigate and watch videos made about him and now knowing how everything correlates it’s wild. Very disappointing
