CARLOS YOU ARE SO RIGHT JAMAICA SHOULD RECONSIDER GOING THE WAY OF THE MODERNIST STYLE WHEN IT COMES TO BUILDING OUR HOME , FOR THE MODERNIST IS THE SAFEST, AND MOST ATTRACTIVE OF ALL BUILDING STYLES. FOR A LOT OF BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLES, CHECK OUT THE HOMES IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC AND MEXICO.
We do not seem to enjoying disrupting ourselves in Jamaica. Find new ways to do things etc. Zinc for example is not from Jamaica, so it's imported but Jamaica has used for many years while there are much better approaches out there. Is that they are just protecting the zinc distributors? There is need for more emphasis on research and development. For the poor person, concrete not good as it brings in more heat plus bad for earthquake situation. There are reasonable cheap systems out there. They can use HEART to train people in these new systems etc.
