The idea of tufting rugs have been tickling my mind for a long time, but I never knew where to start. Now I know exactly what supplies tools and other things I'd have to buy to start out! Thanks fo this elaborate tour man! You helped so much!
Thank you for watching! I understand that a lot of the URLs I pasted are not currently working, I tried to use a URL shortener so that the description could fit it, I will fix that soon!
WD-40 is not necessarily lubricant. It is a water displacement. So it moves the water away to keep rust from setting up. The best thing you could use his either sewing machine oil or white lithium grease, which also comes in a spray can. The same area is WD-40 sold
Sewing machine oil is not recommended as its qualities are for sewing machine parts to move in a way that is more sticky. You want lubricant for the gun, so knitting machine oil is better. However, I think the DW40 is good and probably easier to find. Clean the fluff out thoroughly after each use before oiling. Spatula.
The best Tufting gun oil I’ve used is gun oil. Like the kind for firearms…Rem oil, Hoppes 9, Lucas. Also just like…a few drops of car motor oil works well too. Don’t complicate it too much…as long as it’s lubricant meant for lots of mechanical friction, and doesn’t have any detergents, you’re good to go.
Thank you so much for this insightful videos. I live in Nigeria and would want to venture into doing things mostly based on wools. Do you know maybe a site or an online store I could buy those(wools) in wholesale, preferably red heart yarns. Please anyone with an idea can please let me know, thank you
Hello! I can’t wait to start tufting :) newbie here but your videos are informative and i really enjoy watching them, but when you purchase your fabric from i make rugs does it take a while for them to ship it out? did you have any issues with them? Thank you so much!
Great video, really helpful so thank you! I would love for you to show us your process of making a face rug. Like when you are putting the picture into photoshop and adobe and getting it to where you only have 6 colors. I have been wanting to make a face rug, but am not sure how to work with adobe and Photoshop. Keep up the good work!
How many mm the yarn has to be? I have seen some RU-vidrs using 4mm and others 6mm which one is the beneficial for making profit too? Sorry if I missed those info in the vid
Great video. I was having trouble with ways to do backing and I liked the way you explained it. Can you do a video on line work. Where to start and finish?
Based on the tutorial on how to build the stand. You have it sideways. The side pieces should be in top and bottom and your top and bottom pieces should be on the side.
Hey man, your channel is helping me a ton! I’m trying to get into the tufting business and I almost have everything I need to get going. Do I need to purchase the hdmi adapter in order for it to be compatible with my laptop?
