Fantastic video. I was able to fix my Samsung dryer too. Some estimates to call in a tech to fix it were a few hundred dollars so it’s definitely worth trying DIY first before spending that kind of money. With a cordless drill it doesn’t really take that long either.

My Samsung dryer kept blowing the high limit thermostat. I replaced the high limit thermostat (manually reset it as many times as I could first), thermo cut-off fuse, heating element, cycling thermostat, AND the thermistor. They all had continuity but I replaced them anyway, and the thermister was reading the correct ohms when I did resistance test at room temp. I also cleaned the heck out of the dryer hose, filter, and blower wheel pipe to make sure air flow was good. I even ran it with no dryer hose but was still over heating. I checked the relay switch on the main control board and confirmed it was operating correctly. I was racking my brain trying to figure out why it kept over heating and tripping the high limit thermostat. Eventually I bypassed the thermostat with the higher temperature thermo fuse and ran the dryer at 10 minute intervals, but then I figured out the root of the problem! It was the blower seal and the seal on the dryer filter cover. The foam gasket had become so depressed, that gaps in the seal allowed the blower to suck in cooler air from out side the dryer drum. This meant that the air running past the cycling thermostat and the thermister was cooler than it actually was within the drum. SOLUTION: I thickened the seal of the blower wheel and dryer filter cover with electrical tape and covered the gaps with electrical tape, this ensured the blower wheel was sucking in 100% of the hot air thru the dryer filter, and none of the cooler air outside of the dryer drum. After doing this, to my surprise the heating element was cycling on and off in like 2 minute intervals like it should, no more over heating and tripping the high-limit thermostat!! Before I corrected the seal, the heating element would never turn off, it would stay on for like 8 minutes and then blow the thermostate. Not anymore!!

So a meticulous and thorough technician is somehow “STUPID” for going the extra mile and basically refurbishing and extending the life of his dryer? Okay yes extra steps; do I feel like doing them myself - NO, but hey it’s not about what we may want to do, but what makes sense and saves steps down the road. I’d hire this guy ON THE SPOT because I see he has pride in what he does. You can’t teach that kind of integrity.
Would be a better video to list the ohm values of each item you tested. I fixed mines by reaching my hand up in the front blower area and cleaned off the thermistor of lint.
You da man 😂 don’t take the belt off that way. reach under and push the tensioner left to release tension you stretch and may break the belt the way he did it. I replaced my heating element. Still no heat. I’m thinking moisture sensor or vent shaft isn’t getting a good seal.
You can also take the heating element housing out without removing the drum. You just remove the bracket under it and it gives you the space to remove it.
Had mine for about 7yrs and it stopped heating up. Checked the items connected to the heating element and they checked out ok. There was a burned circuitry smell on the left side of the dryer when I pulled off the top.
This was helpful but one thing I'd change and warn others of - when taking off the belt, do it from the pulley on the bottom. Don't try to force it off the barrel like shown in the video. I wound up bending my pulley arm doing it this way.
I need some help, I changed the element and all the thermostats in my samsung dryer, and I still don't have heat. All thermos have continuity, any idea?
I checked motor and switch is sending the signal, what I found was that the thermistor reads below 10, its at 9.45... i was told it should read at 10 or a bit above 10.... im hoping its this.

Is this your first time working on a dryer? I can fix that same dryer in 5 min. You do not need to take all that stuff off to fix a heating element. We all started somewhere, make that money.
Cool man, it’s great to fix your on stuff beats paying someone else lots of money. I didn’t know if you knew it or not but you can change just the heating element which is $6. Hope you enjoy working on things as much as me! Keep up the good work man
The back and the sides are one solid sheet of steel. The bottom is also riveted onto the sides so the only way in is through the front. In the video here, he removes the inner front shield and the drum which are both unnecessary for the removal of the actual heating element which can be removed through the small opening in the lower right side of the cabinet. There is a small phillips screw on the back side of the heating element housing support bracket which is somewhat tricky to get to and you are at risk of cutting yourself on the sharp edges..(ask me how I know !). You can also remove the screw from the access hole in the back if you remove the exhaust tube but you will have to reach in and remove it by feel... also tricky.
