Hi Louise. I discovered u only today and i’m so enjoying ur video. I am also Australian (i live just outside Canberra) and am always so happy to find Aussies sharing their papercraft on RU-vid. Most importantly however I’m so grateful for you explaining your process. I’m new to “art” and have no experience…so I am very grateful you are explaining what most makers just assume we all know

Very helpful tips! Thank you. Having everything overlapping and touching makes sense for it to feel cohesive. Love the page you made, too!

I'm in Canada. 🇨🇦 I bought a lot of vintage picture notebooks and notepads from Temu recently. I 'm looking for ideas to put vintage collages together using my purchases. Yours is my first video on how to do it.

Thanks Ali 😃 I have had a few people very kindly compliment me on my collages. I was making a couple of cards last week and it dawned on me that I do have a process. So I thought if I share it and one person finds it helpful, all well and good 😊

Love the page and all of your tips. Collage is a new thing for me as I have always needed things very neat and tidy. I love finally getting away from that and trying something new.
@coffeeteapaper

Hello Sherry! I love neat and tidy too, however, I find collaging freeing but also end up getting focused on corners or lining up things to make sure they are straight etc. You are absolutely right..it is good to try new things! Ps: Your giveaway mail is well on its way so hopefully it reaches you soon.😃💕 Louise

Ok, I’m brand new here, but wanted to say 13 minutes into the video WOW I have learned so much already !! Brilliant. Ok, back to business…..🥰. Beautiful job. I love this page you just created. What are those cool curved scissors ?? And, I’ve never seen anyone tear strips of washi tape before. So excited to have found you just now 🤍🤍🤍 I love Tim Holtz too and your voice. I love your voice even if it’s “running out” 😂😂🥰
@coffeeteapaper
@coffeeteapaper Год назад
Hello Cheryl! Welcome and thank you so much for watching. I'm so glad you found my little video helpful. The scissors are Nakabayashi and are stainless steel with some sort of coating. I find them really comfortable to work with and the coating makes them not prone to picking up sticky residue. I purchased these from Bunbougu (an Australian online store). The theory is that the blade is curved for slicing not cutting and doesn't require as much force. I went through a lot of scissors before splurging on these and they are totally worth it. x Louise

Ooh exciting… I luv watching how u create. Where do u get the vintage aged papers?
@coffeeteapaper
@coffeeteapaper Год назад
Hello Marilyn! Thank you so much for watching. I swap vintage book pages with pen pals and also have a stash from damaged books that an op shop near me used to save for me. They were from books that were unsellable due to their condition. Unfortunately, that thrift shop has closed due to the pandemic, so I need to find a new one. There are also Etsy sellers who sell bundles of old book pages or tea-dyed papers as well. It's always nice to find some local to you. 😊x Louise

Do you use the basic background (pages of the agenda) also for collages?
@coffeeteapaper
@coffeeteapaper 6 месяцев назад
Hello HMOcreations! Thank you so much for watching. I just use the memo side for a bit of creative collaging and leave the planning side for writing…sometimes I might add a little something something if it’s been a quiet week, but more along the lines of a splodge of washi and a sticker or two. 😊💕Louise

Why is it called a cigarette card and where do you get them?
@coffeeteapaper
@coffeeteapaper 8 месяцев назад
Hello Diane! Thank you so much for watching my video! I hope you enjoyed it 😃 The "cigarette cards" used to be included in packets of cigarettes as a marketing tool in the early 20th century. Tea companies and cocoa companies issued the cards as well. The different brands had different series and matching albums to collect the cards in. Often the series would be "wildflowers" ,"cricket legends" or "ships of the world" etc. These cards are like miniature artworks. I especially like the flower, bird and butterfly themed ones. They can often be found on Etsy or Ebay. If you go for ones that are a bit damaged (fine for collage work) they will be very affordable. I hope that is helpful. 😃💕Louise

What kind of notebook are you using ???? .Is it acid free ???
@coffeeteapaper
@coffeeteapaper 7 месяцев назад
Hello trialsbikeguy! I use the Traveler’s Notebook Inserts which are mostly Midori paper (Traveler’s parent company) or Tomoe River Paper in the lightweight insert. I believe that they are acid free, however, the leather cover is not. Once I finish an insert I store it in an acid free binder as I like to decorate the plain covers. I hope this is helpful. On a side note, I read somewhere ages ago, that majority of all paper manufactured now is acid free as it is less expensive to produce, however, certain elements in wood pulp can change over time to produce a natural acid which can lead to yellowing. 😊 💕Louise
