My last road trip was 1000 miles round trip. I ended up camping one night in my vehicle. I also stayed in 2 different motels. I had my dog with me and stayed in rooms that smelled so badly of old dog urine it was miserable staying in the room. I really wish I had a minivan at that point because I could have slept inside the vehicle instead of spending money on a terrible smelly room. I even told them how bad the room smelled and they didn’t offer a discount. I just wanted them to know it wasn’t my dog that made the room smell.

I mean it's almost the same routine as in a house, just in a different way. Fold down bed, wash up, brush teeth, tidy up, watch a movie. I part time in a van, and also have a home. I get in really good shape if I'm on the road for a while. All that bending and stretching naturally, and in and out of my van just doing daily tasks. I call it "Van Zumba"!!!! I'm really enjoying your videos. :)

U are right Lee, there is the little things that u have to do like fill up ur water, charge batteries for electrical things, put up ur window coverings but it is worth it for the freedom and benefits that u get from this amazing way of living lifestyle

I bought the sleeping bag you have and I do like you suggested I put on a twin sheet over it. I also have 2 yoga mats under it. I must say the bottom part stays really warm. No cold at even 26 degrees. This was a great tip from you.

I've been car camping since Dec 1st. Waiting on senoir housing to call. I'm retired truck driver who got sick with vascular disease. After aorta bypass I was told I'm disabled. No I'm officially retired. Plans I had were changed by a judge after my parents passed away. Truck stop was perfect until I got the knock. Now they don't get a dime from me. I do use there bathroom microwave and drivers lounge to like I did while driving for 20 yrs. Walmarts seems to be the place to stay. I haven't asked .. I love it It's like camping out. I survived the ne ohio winter

Where are you on the senior housing list? I have seen beautiful subsidized senior housing in Santa Barbara, Nipoma and Santa Cruz. Retire in style on the beach, ha. I am sorry about your health, I hope you are feeling better.

I would love as a mother myself to hear what your adult kids think about you living like this. Are they helpful financially for you? I sure hope so. I would imagine that a lot of elderly retired noman’s have a family that helps them. You are so sweet and if they’re not helping you financially, then shame on them. I would like to see them all pitch in together and give you a yes van that you can at least stand up in. We spend on our lives as mother taking care of them, and I’m surprised how many adult children do not take care of their mothers when the money runs out. I know that you do not count on your kids because I’ve heard June different videos, but there comes a time where I think they should and I think it’s the right thing and I hope that they do that for you. I just parked for the night at a Cracker Barrel in Texas. There is WIFI in the RV area so I decided to watch RU-vid. Your newest video just showed up so I watched it while "washing up" for the night. Do you ever wish you had a cargo van so you wouldn't have to deal with windows? I am trying to decide whether to get a cargo van or a mini van. I bought your book BTW and can't wait to read it. So Love the Idea of freedom, but it is hard to figure how I'd do it as vans/minivans are getting so expensive, and my car that I have is so good on gas, etc. Also not ready to do remote work, and have a job and a dog, so I worry about her, as she's older. But yes, no rent, utilities, water/sewer/trash and gardener, that we now have to pay. It's a lot.

My mom came from and brother lived in Leadville, Co that is real elevation, 10,000 ft. and my brother still lives there, had to have open heart surgery, and he's having to be on oxygen now at night, as he is recovering, but seems he needs it when he sleeps.

One way to solve the water situation could be to fill up at a public park (rest room, what ever) and use a filtering system (sawyer, or berkey if you're rich or some other kind - there are many).

When i lived in the mountains of Colorado i had such a hard time going up stairs, or even a small incline!!! I would be huffing and puffing 😂 my breathing eventually became better and when i would go down to a lower elevation the air felt thick with oxygen and i could out hike anyone lol

Go to a gas station that you know is clean and fill up your water jugs. Specially water you are going to boil anyways or your dish washing and bathing water. I always buy my drinking water anyways.

I used to live out of a suitcase, going places and traveling the world from country to country and I often felt homesick and at the end of my trips, I really missed home where I could settle down and chill out. It's absolutely true...high elevation will effect your breathing until you accumulate. But there are breathing exercises that can definitely help...go on Google and look up techniques for breathing
