Randy shows in detail how he modifies his finesse jigs to catch more fish and produce better under tough fishing conditions #bassfishing #bassjigs #finessejigs #prespawnbassfishing #fishing #jigmodification #jigtips
Yes sir Randy,.... there's quite a bit of snow still on the ground here in Arkansas. There's about 5 more days before we get some good weather & the bass move back up shallow. I do alot of the same modifications you explained. This time of year, I load a glass n brass rattle in the trailer itself. I do use alot of river rodent or beaver style baits for trailers. But when it comes to finesse jigs,... I do something different. I use Keitech mono spin jigs and I trailer them with a bait that resembles a baby crawfish. Missle Baits makes the best one I've found & it's pure dynamite on these Ozark waters. I do dye the tips of the claws orange to give it a little extra strike impulse move. By the way,....I still have photos of you from the early 90s when Kevin won the Bassmasters invitational at Lake Lanier on a Nichol's spinnerbait. That was a cold December day then. If I remember correctly, you caught most of your fish on a jig on that tournament. Thank you for sharing. Now I have to shovel some snow. Awesome video
Your keeping me alive! We have about 3 feet of snow on the ground and are getting another 5-8 inches tonight!!@$:;# lake is about 8" thick with ice!! Thanks for the tips!
Thank You Randy for sharing your Tips. I particularly like the Booyah Jigs. They are Horizontally Balanced & Fall Level. 😁 I enjoy your Channel Very Much. You're Teaching & I'm Learning a LOT. 👍👍 THANK YOU Brother. 👏
I enjoy using a finesse jig any time of year they always seem to produce bites in late summer I had a little orange to the bottom it produces phenomenal results
Just found your vids the other day. Really like the content. Keep em coming. I'll be using the tube mods and jig mods in upcoming tourney in the PNW. Thanks!
I agree with you Alexander Williams fishing, your never to old to learn. When I'm to old to learn anything new then I'll be pushing up daisy's!! Lol. Stay safe and warm all you guys and gals out that way with the bad weather. I'm in east tennessee and we are suppose to be getting in on the action tonight, the last one a few days ago missed up thank God. Anyways tight lines and Semper Fi from an old Marine.
i made mine as u did wow what a difference ur teaching makes i have my first tournament in a month on watauga lake butler Tn and this will really help thx again.
Hey Randy! Thanks for all of the tips. I have been watching a ton of your videos and reading through the comments. I can't wait to check out "Fin to Feathers" next time I'm in Springfield. I would love to see a video on how you tie the jigs with braid.
I do the same Randy. Take my old braid to tie. Also use fly thread in different colors to give a little different look. Even do that with my homemade bladed jigs.
Thanks for the tips I have the same color zoom critter craws. I'm going to use this on my jigs the same way. Thanks for the great tip as always. I hope you get 1st in your next fishing tournament.
Question for ya. Have you and Johnny thought about doing underwater lure presentation vids? I've seen other channels do these and they kill with the views. I would really like to see your way of working the baits.
Great tip. Question for clearer water...how critical do you think it is for making longer casts and really trying to limit the amount of disruption to the water when your lure enters the water? I’ve been trying to get better just letting that lure break the water ever so slightly but it’s difficult for me on those longer casts....or do you just forget it and skip it out all the way.
Man, Randy, I can thank you enough for sharing all your experience with us - I can’t wait to come up for a guided trip - I’m hoping this summer - do you slow down or stop guiding during tournament season?
Hey Randy you just gave me the name of your new finesse jig the MONEY JIG come on let's make one I'll make one I need a new vice I make my own swimjijs I got another name Ozark dream, Randy's craw , Alabama slammer, now introducing the Randy blauket signature series money finesse jig what do you think about that Randy when I get to Missouri I'm going to make a prototype for you and will see what you think I have the led melting pot and tons of lead I just have to get a mold you tell me what kind of hook I would think a gamakatsu hook anyway thanks for the great tips as always God bless you and your family your pal fisherman Mike
That's a super double secret! Giving up spots is a no no.. I'll teach guys in my bass club how I catch em but not where I catch em.. I'll tell what structure, depth, cover , and bait but not point out specific spots on a map....
Your jig mod is fantastic, and I make similar mods myself, but why use a critter craw if you modify it *that* much lol? There are lures that already come that way.
One thing I always do that I never see you do is any bait that I put a trailer on that has a trailer keeper....is that once I thread it on before I push it over the keeper, I turn it 90 degrees push it over the keeper and then turn it back those 90 degrees. That way that channel that that the keeper cuts is off to the side. It just keeps my trailer on much better! Just wondering if you choose not to do it for some reason or just didn’t know about it?
Would you consider the War Eagle Heavy Cover Finesse Jig a finesse jig in comparison to the jig in this video? Is the hook the only real difference between finesse jig or a compact jig? Thanks
Hello I'm Bruce from northestertern NC im in need of your tips ..... IN River shallow water pre spawn .. i fish the albermarle sound to compete in local bass tournaments .. I be interested to here your opinion on fishin the albermarle sound.
I have a bad habit on setting the hook with regular jigs super hard so when going smaller line I hit em too hard and break off how to set the hook on lighter line? Just sweep or straight up but softer
@@randyblaukatintuitive up where I am in the northeast bass fishing is not very big most people prefer trout and saltwater so I end up having to go to bass pro shops or cabelas where they have the selection of quality lures that I need other than just stick baits or basic crank baits not that those are bad baits but I use more than just those two.
