BUYER BEWARE. The only reviews and videos I've seen about this product or the x11i that come out positive are sponsored by Nordictrack or are commercials for them. Every independent review I've seen has said they break down, always takes over an hour to get a hold of customer service and multiple calls to customer service to find help, and takes months for a replacement or replacement parts and many hidden fees on top.
Bought an X7i in 2015 and it had issues from the start, mostly the incline refusing to go up or down. Customer service was awful. They did send a 3rd-party technician out several times, unfortunately he couldn't figure out what was wrong. Ended up taking it to the dump after a couple of years of frustration. Hopefully the product and the service have improved since then.
BTW, I wore my Run Steep sweater after a 180k race in Sweeden. One guy noticed, and that was fun. We both said how we missed your regulare videos on this channel. And funnily enough, aa week later, videos were back :)
Yay for another shot at the Barkley!! Always enjoy your content Jamil, so just keep the weekly training videos coming, whether you're indoors or out! Will definitely give NordicTrack credit: loading their apps with running videos with sponsored athlete's in dream locations is VERY cool. Would be SUPER cool if they were able to get footage (even non-race) of athletes running well known courses that most of us will never get the opportunity to try: UTMB (original course), Lavarato, Hard Rock, etc.
My gym has a similar treadmill (different brand) it can use Google Maps to set the incline to the gradient of the street or trail you are following. It evens goes downhill!! We also have a rolling staircase which I use but will be using both more having watched this video. Thanks for the tip!!
cool! hey you ran in my backyard (Hogsback with Lucy B, et. al) and now you took me for a virtual run in yours! thanks! love using mils for intervals; keeps the accuracy intact. thanks! head bowed from Durango,
I live in Oak Ridge, TN. Glad to hear you are coming back for Barkley!! I run those trails regularly and I'm always inspired by seeing the videos of you guys out there. I'd love to meet you when you're in town.
So so happy you're back. I love watching your channel and in particular your training runs. The timing is awesome as i'm unable to walk properly at the moment let alone run due to foot injury and I am really missing the hills. I've been told it'll be several months before I can start running again and will need to start on the flat. At least I can run vicariously through you ;) . Hopefully everything will align for you this year at Barkley :-)
10:05 .... sheesh!!! Man, if Jamil is on the floor, I'd be in the hospital!!! Ha ha ha.... love this... at least I should take my treadmill to its max of 10% .... ha ha ha...................
Ok Jamil, can we get a none sponsored unbiased updated review, as with others, there's positive reviews when sponsored, but there is a trend with the machines breaking down, long waits for customer service, and not resolving issues resulting in multiple calls to customer service.
Jamil if you go to the white tank mountains by verado there is the tower road that goes up the white tanks where you can get some pretty significant inclines there's a section that is 0.6 miles long and gives you 800 feet of climb from the base to the top of that section is approximately 4 miles with a total vertical climb of 1900 ft.
Tip for content. I love watching preparations for races. The logistics, course-marking, setting up aid-stations etc. That said, I like most anything you put out. Your an interesting character. Feel-good tv :)
Got my incline treadmill just before Xmas and have a love/hate relationship with it. Great tool. Liking the iFit workouts. 40% is a BEAST. Laz is ok with you all saying you got in? I thought it was secret?
Hell yea man! Go get that Barkley 5th lap! Pumped you are diving into the belly of the beast again! Can’t wait to follow your journey! Best of luck! #Champshitonly
I have this treadmill and I would not recommend it. After only having it 10 weeks the belt stopped working. It's covered by warranty but parts and a service tech takes about 6-8 weeks. The treadmill also runs really loudly. So get some noise cancelling headphones to wear and ask everyone else to leave the room. Overall the quality seems really poor. Go with Peloton instead.
I am considering purchasing this treadmill and am worried about how tall of a ceiling I need. How tall are you and how tall is your ceiling above the treadmill? Thanks!
Looking at getting one of those treadmills. My worry is my ceiling height? I’m about 5’11” and my ceiling is about 8’4”. I can’t find how tall the deck would be at the different intervals.
Check out this video on the NordicTrack X22i measurements: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7zbLBN33HHM.html Exact measurements while the incline is at different % levels.
Nice shoes, Inov-8’s? If you really want to train to the extreme beyond extremes, use a weighted vest when inclined. I just bought the X32i and plan on working my way up to be able to wear a vest. I am not in good shape so its going to take me a while to get there. Thanks for sharing.
Props for getting the treadmill, it's a bit expensive. I've been planning on getting one similar to yours, it's also nordic track. They have great reviews :)
Thank you so much for the thorough review! Your video was very helpful in determining whether or not to invest on this machine...spoiler alert...I did, LOL. I created two videos to add to the X32i community. One on Assembly and the latest on the Initial Setup. I hope it helps your viewers and our iFit community!
Hi I'd love to know how the nordic is x32i is going? I was just about to buy 3 of them but have seem some really bad reviews about the nordic x11i x22i etc have you had issues?
What a great tool and no crowds like Squaw Peak! Just curious, do you get burned out on the trails around the house? I’ve been training on them for almost a year now and sometimes It’s hard to get out the door.
Are you still using your incline trainer? Still having success with it? No issues? Recently just got the x22i and loving it, but nervous based on reviews ive seen online.
Hi Jamil, long time fan of your content, keep it up! I just finished the Zion 100k a couple weeks ago, amazing experience. I just bought this piece of equipment in preparation for my first 100 miler in May. I'm super excited to start working with this treadmill but am also a little scared about some of the reviews I've read online. I've seen complains regarding the motor failing after a couple months as well as issues running at fast speeds like about 9 mph. Have you experienced anything like this so far with your Nordictrack? Thanks in advance!
Being able to create your own profiles is pretty cool. One could basically recreate a race profile and train for it on the treadmill. I checked the manual, but didn't find any information on usability of the screen outside of the iFit app. Can I watch RU-vid or Netflix on it?
Question. I am thinking of buying the x22i, but can’t justify the iFIT subscription. Does the software on your machine still offer some visual interactive work outs that I could use or is the machine useless without the IFIT subscription? For reference, my wife and I are casual runners in our 50’s we each treadmill about 1/2 hr per day
I bought the x22i shortly after this video came out. The motherboard has gone out and the belt stopped moving recently. Still haven't paid it off and it is broken. "Commercial" grade is a joke. Is yours still working?
Sounds like climbing is very important, but I am curious how you prepare for the navigation challenges, since that's where a lot of time can be spent at Barkley?
Hi. I'm looking at buying one of these and was just curious about the restrictions for tall people when the deck is level and the front of the deck is partially under the console. I'm 6'2" and was wanting to know if the running deck is still long enough for someone who takes quite large strides. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks
My gym do not have a treadmill that can do 40% incline. My killer challenge is to go as far as possible in 15 min at 15%. The goal is to be totally drained. Great way to gauge your fitness.
