I thought i was weird for deleting my social medias, getting rid of my “friends”, and spending most of my time alone... i used to be very social but honestly im so happy just being alone.. took a while to get to this point tho

my boyfriend has a flip phone and he survived without social media. I was attracted to his minimalist ways lol.

Flip phones are better anyways because u can slap them shut whenever you hang up on somebody 🙃💯

I never used a gym membership. I love running outdoors or if the weather is bad, there are TONS of online workouts on youtube for free that are KILLER.

I did a "social media cleanse" for 6 months and Instagram and twitter look so different now.

I also avoid people on a daily basis, who else just feels happier that way? 😅

I feel you about Instagram makes you want brand new outfits and 'do up' the house every other day. What a waste of money! I deleted every form of social media I had inc whatsapp and felt so relieved. It's just me and my 2 year old I have so much more time for her now and love living a peaceful life just hearing off family and two best friends

I'm always happy to see young black people talk about investing, and personal finance. It really is important to get a hold of that now because I highly doubt ant of us would be able to survive retirement without a nest egg to fall back on. Keep doing you Kelly! we love to see it.

I became a minimalist about a decade ago. I did it at first to reduce clutter. I noticed that the more crap in my surrounding the more distracted I was from work (software engineering). I got to the point, (I'm still there) where all I had in my 4 bedroom 3.5 bath house in the Hollywood Hills was my desk, my computers, my bed, a few lamps, and my cats. I now live in a 700 sqft loft in downtown LA which sells for the same price as the house did, and own just about the same amount of stuff. Except I have a dog, instead of 2 cats. The thing I like about minimalism the most, at least the way I do it, is that I have nothing to lose. Except my dog. I love him. Much more than I ever expected. Yes, he's an issue. Everything I care about is non-physical. If the building catches fire, Quincy and I can be out of here in minutes, all that is important in my backpack go bag, and Quincy's harness with our water. We can walk across the street and watch the place burn. All of my work lives in the cloud. I have a spare laptop and iPad in the go bag. Sig Sauer P320 (just in case it's a peaceful protest), emergency rations that we can share, (important to get emergency rations your dog can eat as well), and we're good. The less crap you have, the less you can be hurt by losing it. The less there is to distract you.

Good for you Kelly! One of the best things to be able to do, is to spend time with yourself. You’ll be surprised how many people are unable to do this, or are too frightened to be alone and at one with themselves. If you can’t bear to be alone with you, why should someone else want to spend time with you. Don’t get me wrong there is being alone, which is different from being lonely. I have great friends but equally I love spending time with ME! Wishing you all good luck on your journey and desires.x

Minimalism ought to = no plastic water bottles. Love the spatula visual, the dry humor, and your confidence. Making a list of my favorite restaurant dishes I can get for home. Brilliant idea. In non-plastic, reusable containers, of course.

Really really enjoy your content! And on top of that, I loved the part about getting some ingredients from your favorite restaurants so you're able to eat food you enjoy if you're cooking from home.
