looks amazing! Gives me great idea for my own game. Somewhat like pokémon except with card battles. Could be a very fun experience to create. I will try this out on a gamejam soon i think. Good luck with the balancing + creating unique mechanics which make your game stand out !

This looks great! I miss the old YGO and Pkmn TCG GBC/GBA games. Something about the card packs reminded me of KH Chain of Memories I love the idea of upgrading cards as you progress and I think it'll be a defining mechanic. Maybe take inspiration from how Slay the Spire balances their card upgrades?

Thanks for the suggestion as well, I'll have to playtest that part for sure, I might open up an itch.io a couple videos down the line once I have a more stable foundation with working AI so that I can get some direct feedback about what people enjoy/don't enjoy, and whether some things are broken or balanced.
You should really look up the 1997 game Magic the Gathering: Duels of the planeswalkers. (it has nothing to do with the later mtg games of the same name.)There is a game mode in it called shandalar and it is almost word for word how you described your concept except with Magic and not very much storyline. It was amazing. I wish I could modernize the concept. I also managed to remember that the very first Pokemon tcg game on gameboy a million years ago involved walking around, collecting cards, talking to people, and of course playing the card game. EDIT: Oh. Turns out I am an idiot and did not see you mention the Pokemon TCG literally 2 posts below my comment. Lol. I Fail.
Thank you very much for your suggestion! I'll definitely take a look at that OG magic duels game, I think I've heard of it before. I might give it a go just to see if there's any interesting ideas from it. As for the pokemon TCG, yeah I've played it, it's really fun!
Yeah. The pokémon TCG definitely changed my idea of what a card game could be. I feel like they are too stuck in the just the card game idea. You definitely have the right idea with your game.
I suppose gwent in The Witcher 3 is another good example. You have to go to some pretty crazy lengths to find opponents and collect cards, but it's fun!
@@SkinzDiablo I've also played gwent on the witcher 3, that's definitely more in tune with what I want to make! Having a bit of a game outside the card game itself
Can you make some kind of tutorials for some of the game mechanics. I just started learning unity a week ago, I have already started on working on a card game of my own but I couldn't make it when a card is selected to go up, because the grid layout group restricticts it. I would love if you could help. Also great video keep it up!
