The woman at the door, is the op and sisters birth mother. She got pregnant young and had to give her children up for adoption. Her sister and sisters husband (the parents in the story), wanted the girl, but not the boy(op). However the birth mother said both, or she would send them to a family that would take both. They took both, but treat the boy like absolute crap. He finds out that it was his birth mother, but the parents want him to give the sister half of the cheque. He refuses, he ends up living with his birth mother and cuts contact with the abusive "parents" cant remember what happened to the sister.
