Picture profile will be greyed out once log shoot is enabled...I'm so confused with Sony. And what's the difference between set up gamma display assist to s709 and use 709 as lut

Sony ZV-E1 Hello can you please answer my 3 questions I would be grateful. 1: at 4k 120 FPS or FHD 240 FPS which stabilizer can you activate? E.g. you can activate the speech stabilizer. 2: 120 FPS and 240 FPS focus training works? 3: at low light is the same as FX3 and A7siii?
So just making sure OVER exposing means raising the f stop?! Thanks for the vids! Do you ever use the manual exposure setting on the sony the +1 +2 etc ?
Overexposing S-Log3 means exposing higher than what Sony recommends (41% middle grey). You don't have to use aperture (f-stop) to do that; you can use shutter speed, ND filter, and even ISO (but raising the ISO will increase noise, unless you move to the second base ISO of 12800). What do you mean by manual exposure +1, +2? Are you referring to shutter/aperture priority with EV compensation set to +1 or +2? If so, I rarely ever use this; I mostly manually expose every single shot. Cheers!
Great video Roma 👏 SUB from an older german RU-vid filmmaker 😂 I have the FX6 but since 3cMonths the small ZVE1 too and I really love it 😍 perfect for run and gun shooting and holidays 💪🏼 the quality is awesome
How would you compare ZV-E10 to Fujifilm XT20, only by looking at buying point features?? Anyone ..my friend has a FFxt20 i borrow from time to time so its only experience i have as a newb to vlog film capture at experimental stage
There is an EXCELLENT video by Gerald Undone on ISOs and why ISO's below native can also be used effectively. ISO is basically a distribution of dynamic range.
Love the videos Roma ! Still deciding between a7c2 and zve1. Some tests show a7c2 has better DR from ISO 800-10,000 but zve1 is a little better after 12,800. Just looking for the best image ! I’ll be using baked in LUT in camera and not grading much in post.
That's easy, in my opinion. I'd get the A7CII if I were doing photo/video 50/50 or really needed a viewfinder, and I'd get the ZV-E1 if I were mainly doing content creation, like myself. I wouldn't recommend the ZV-E1 for pro work, as it can overheat, the grip isn't the best, and there is only 1 card slot. However, if you shoot RU-vid videos, then it's the best compact RU-vid camera, in my opinion.
@@jaymills1720 I've had the A7IV, which has the same sensor as the A7CII and it was slightly sharper overall because of the higher MP count, but I hated the 4k60 crop..
Hey, when 55% is the neutral exposure for skin tones in slog3, what values are used when overexposing by 1.7 stops? I am kinda confused how saying 1.7 stops influnces the IRE value here. I would like to calculate even the 41 -> 55 myself :)
41 IRE is the proper way to expose S-Log3 using a grey card. If you overexpose the shot by exactly 1.7 stops, either by lowering the aperture or increasing the ISO, over 41 IRE middle grey, you'll get to roughly 55 IRE middle grey. However, all this is done using a grey card. If you expose using skin, it's a bit different because skin tones are not the same as middle grey in terms of exposure. From my tests, 41 IRE middle grey is roughly equivalent to 52-55 IRE (zebras) with my skin complexion. It might be a bit different if your skin is darker.
Hi Roma, thanks a lot for the video! I’ve just moved to Sony ZVE1 from Nikon D600. My videos look amazing now, but I don’t get how to shoot photos. I use RAW files (.ARW) now, is it any chance to edit ARW files in Lightroom? It was pretty simple with Nikons Nef, but ARW needs to be converted before I can do something. What is the usual workflow for photos?
You shouldn't have any issues editing ARW files in Lightroom. There's no need to convert anything. However, I'm not using Lightroom; instead, I use a Mac app called Photomator, which works really well.
Hey! Enjoying your vids and great info. I noticed that in your older vids you were using 'Log Shooting Setting" to enable Slog3, whats the great difference if we are doing it thru PP and manually adjusting it there?
@@Romafedorov so, basically on my zv e1, when you go in to menu->image quality->Log shooting settings, from there you sort of enable log shooting (flexible iso) with possibilities to change colour gammut and embed lut. And also you can do that thru PP.
