Thank you Pastor John for your words of wisdom and comfort. I lost my dear Mother suddenly and unexpectedly in September. This brought me a great deal of comfort. On the hardest days, I try to find joy in the knowledge that she is now at home with the Lord.
I have been through loss and this truth set me free. Dear sister, 16 years after sending a child home I can tell you that my loss was not in vain! He used me in so many ways to bring the Good News to those hurting, to shine light in their darkest days… and I think this is just a glimpse of what He has planned for me before He calls me home!! I pray for comfort for your aching heart my sisters, but also for eyes to see this truth.
Beautiful response, pastor. God bless this woman. In respect to the hurting spouse, please don’t use comments as a platform for hot buttons and “should haves”
may the peace that surpasses understanding flood our lives when it seems like tragedy would consume us and leave nothing behind because you promised us Lord and you always keep your promises
Thank you for this question. I had a similar situation, my husband passed two years ago this month and feel like I didn't do enough to keep him safe during his time of suffering. Everyone says I did the best I could but I wish I could have stayed at home to take care of him myself and spend more time with him. I think God answered me, with this question and Pastor John's response. God is Good, He took care of us during my husband's illness and is taking care of me now. Thank you and I wish the young lady and her family God's continued blessings. Thank you to Pastor John and Desiring God, blessings to all.
Very encouraging thank you 😊 🙏🏼. I would love to know what the person who asked this question thought of your answer, I’m praying they find comfort in your words xx
that was deep 11:00 reminds me of throwing a rock at a lake and creating a ripple effect and at the same time not knowing what effect these bring to the other currents but God Knows.
Prayers for you and your children , may JESUS keep you safe. Why am I still alive, survivors guilt. I was widowed at 39 and had the same feelings. The HOLY SPIRIT will heal your heart, give it time my luv. JESUS ROCKS!!
When lies and doubt come to my mind, I STAND ON GOD'S TRUTH That says; You have decided the length of our lives. You know how many months we will live, and we are not given a minute longer. Job 14:5
God chooses when people will die. God determines literally everything. Sometimes God chooses to let life take a certain course that will lead to killing someone a certain way, but you can't point a finger at God and say like he did it in an evil way intentionally. yes, God saw it coming how this person would die though and he wanted this person's spouse to die in the way and at the time they did, yet God was the one who knew before even the foundation of the world was created of how this person's spouse was going to be born and how their spouse was going to die, that God found it acceptable in his will. So God wanted this to happen, because everything that happens everywhere is God's will.
I had a wonderful Christian mentor who got depressed after her husband died. She committed suicide. She definitely got more than she could handle. I’m wondering about the context of that scripture and it’s application. Also there is nothing meaner than telling a person that God allows terrible evil because of some greater good or ripple effect in the future. We must have faith that God will make good come of it. I am just so sorry for all those that can not stand their suffering any longer and take their own lives. If this is you, don’t be afraid to get help, take meds, and hold fast and wait apron the Lord.
I don't think it's mean, but it's truth. Why is her husband dying a terrible evil? What makes it terrible and what makes it evil? I think Pastor John had a difficult task, to provide both hope for the future, assurance for the present, as well as sense of the past. No magic word he said would make 'everything all right again'. I certainly recognise that Romans 8:28 isn't always helpful to have thrown at you. but it is a firm underpining of all the misery and strife we face in the world. but it doesn't ease the pain we go through. The only real answer is to press into God more to find His peace that, yes, passes our understanding.
Ok Pastor John, I have a question, for the last 4 years I have been unable to sit down due to my COCYX being damaged from a fall, gradually 7 bulging discs in my spine and neck which are INOPERABLE, then a c shaped arthritis formed curving my body 3 inches to drop in height, Now I am being tormented with EXCRUCIATING nerve pain out of the COCYX, also both of my feet have developed neuropathy and I can barely walk, I just want to go home ,why on earth am I still here do you think,,,!
Her husband’s immune system might have been significantly compromised by Covid making him susceptible to bacterial infection. He is in heaven (2 Corinthians 5:8), a comfort for the believers.
The one thing that bothers me in that question is the term homeopathic. Alternative medicine that works is called medicine (although I doubt that affected the outcome on this occasion).
So how did humans survive for thousands of years without vaccines? Lol 😅 Did God not make medicinal herbs, plants and flowers and the superbly designed and complex immune system in His wisdom? What a horrible and self-righteous comment you’ve made about someone who has just lost a loved one through no fault of their own… Why would you rub salt in their wounds like this? It seems like you didn’t even listen to Pastor John’s response either. 🤷♀️
@@deebeedraws well humans had different diseases and much shorter life spans and high mortality rates for thousands of years as well. That doesn’t mean you severely discount modern medicine in favor of herbs and spices. God created vaccines as well with a purpose of healing
@OldEnoughToKnowBetter no one is rebuking anything, the guy just said be very careful if you choose homeopathy over modern medicine, just like we should be careful about our weight and about operating machinery when under the influence of prescription drugs
@@Andrew-rz9hc I never said to “severely discount modern medicine”, don’t put words in my mouth. I am simply pointing out the flaw in this person’s finger-wagging/blaming of this poor widow whose husband’s death was not the fault of homeopathy or “anti-vaccine” beliefs. When you say “God invented vaccines”, what do you mean? Vaccines were man-made and were not able to be made until more recent (historically speaking) scientific & technological developments. Using your logic, did God invent or create the internet? How about cars? 🧐
@@deebeedraws alrighty my apologies, you didn’t say severely discount. But, this person isn’t doing any finger-wagging or blaming, he’s simply saying just to be cautious of these things. Just as if someone lost their money in a timeshare, you could say, “now we know to be cautious of these timeshares”, and that wouldn’t be insensitive or blaming. Second, God absolutely did invent medicine and vaccines, along with cars, planes, busses and everything. Take Thalidomide for example, it’s nothing more then a nitrogen/oxygen molecule combines with a hydrogen/nitrogen/oxygen molecule. Got created these elements to do many things (in this case cure skin diseases) and gave us the knowledge to find out what order to put them in and we did. Just like the car, God gave us iron, latex for rubber and cotton for seats. Then he gave us the knowledge and idea to make the car and we have cars. It all is attributed back to God
