I know the feeling. Years ago, my dad got involved with a young woman who had 'serious problems', but she was just taking advantage of him. She wanted a meal ticket. She even turned dad against me, making up outrageous accusations against me, such as sexual assault, stalking, and even claimed I was trying to take her father away from her, this despite the fact that no one knew who he was. Yet no matter how pathetic her accusations were, even when she had no proof, dad always chose to believe her. He wouldn't even let me tell my side of the story. And then he would punish me. All ths despite the fact that I always told the truth and never lied in my whole life whereas with her it was the opposite. She was such a good liar and master of manipulation that that dad believed her, no questions asked. In truth, even when dad knew she was lying, he always chose to side with her because he didn't want to admit that he made a mistake. He was afraid that he would lose face in the community if he did. But in truth, it already happened because many people believed he was having an affair with her. He lost everything because of her, his marriage, the condo he was going to retire to, the respect of the community, and eventually his health. When he retired, she completely turned her back on him like he meant nothing, which led to him having a series of strokes. Even though we have reconciled and he has finally seen her for who she truly was, I am still bitter about the whole thing. And even to this day he still hasn't called her out on her actions. Any other father would have been outraged by what she did to his son, lying to him, pretending to be his friend, and then making up all those stories about him behind his back. If she had her way, I would have been slapped with a criminal record and forced to register as a sex offender for crimes that were never even committed! And even though she is now legally blind, I still feel it isn't punishment enough.
I can't believe the girl's father would refuse to believe his own daughter's warning about his new wife and stepdaughter are the villains this whole time. But I bet after he recovered from the poison that he will find out from his daughter that his so-called new wife and her daughter are arrested and sent to prison for attempted murder on him which he will burst into tears as he finally realised that his daughter was right about them all along and wished he had listened to her concern in the first place. His daughter is glad that he had recovered but still won't forgive him for everything she had been through and pointed out to him that if her mother had witnessed everything in spirit she would be extremely disappointed in him for not protecting his own daughter from those two vile people before she leaves her father for good and moved on with her own life.
Though I haft to guess that after he was released and seeing his daughter again but knowing he can’t see her again cause she hasn’t forgiven him completely, he visited her in prison and filed for divorce after calling his lawyer. He probably said this to her, “I never shoulda married a heartless woman like you if I knew the monster you and your awful daughter really are. I never wanna see you both again.”
I certainly wouldn't forgive him especially given the fact that he fell in love just after the mother's death and he didn't take the time to get know Audrey's mom and her before marrying her.
Epilogue: After Audrey and Jacqueline's arrest for fraud ,two counts of attempted murder and defamation ,destruction of property and verbal and physical abuse towards Lettie,Audrey was expelled and banned from the ballet academy and she was ordered to $35,000 in restitution for committing crime such as assault and battery. Jacqueline and Audrey were sentenced to 20 years with the possibility of parole. Lettie's ex-boyfriend Patrick was devastated and hurt after finding out about the crimes and bullying that Audrey committed at the ballet academy and he also learned that she manipulated the situation where she destroyed Lettie's tutu. Patrick trying to get back together with Letty but unfortunately Lettie was already married to Colin and had a daughter together so Patrick ended leaving the company heartbroken and in despair. Lettie's father made a full recovery after Jacqueline poisoned his coffee in order for her to get the insurance money and inheritance from his estate which her plan ended up failing. Because of the incidents in the past and the slandering of Lettie, Lettie's father was devastated and distraught when his daughter decided to cut ties with her father after believing in Jacqueline and Audrey's lies. You may have recovered from the poisoning but he will never recover after his daughter is cut ties with him because of his own emotional actions.

Colin and Lettie got married and had a daughter together. Meanwhile, Lettie’s stepmother and stepsister Audrey were put to jail and would stay in jail and rot in hell for the rest of their lives. And as for Lettie’s ex-boyfriend Patrick, he got his karma. He became broke, messy, alone and a homeless vagrant, begging for money. As it turned out, the b*tchy mother and daughter were only using him to murder the MC’s father and take everything from them… I’m glad our MC’s boyfriend helped her get back on her feet🥰 I wish we could’ve gotten a moment where her father would apologize to his daughter for not listening to her, like we never get to see a proper redemption from her dad, making this story so incomplete.🫤

Even when Lettie warned him before the marriage that he mustn't marry Jacqueline, he still didn't listen to her. He let himself be blinded by love and was stubborn. And then, after the marriage, not only was he harmed by his second wife and step-daughter, but his daughter's life was made a misery too, until the second wife and step-daughter finally assaulted Lettie for which she nearly lost her ability to walk and permanently lost her ability to do ballet. And before the assault on Lettie, even when Lettie would complain to her father about Jacqueline and Audrey, he wouldn't believe Lettie. He would actually side with the step-daughter! How despicable of the father! So it was very irresponsible, undutiful, careless, negligent, reckless and despicable of Lettie's father to marry a woman like Jacqueline in the first place. Marrying Lettie's enemy's mother was the worst thing Lettie's father could do to Lettie.
