There's a lot you didn't see on TV... if I was there for 28 days and filmed (conservatively) 6 hrs a day, that's 168 hours. If I had to guess, I was on TV for maybe 15 minutes total in the entire season. I think you can do the math here to figure out that you didn't really get to see much of my time in Mongolia at all. So here's where I fill in the gaps for you. Hope you enjoy!
Thank you for your views, comments, and support!

Brooke you are the poster gal for female empowerment. You are a kind, intelligent, resilient and humble human. I am such a fan. I love how you interact with the audience and pray. You seem so sweet, like the bestie every girl wants.❤️ Thank you for putting out such positive and inspiring content.

I used to be homeless for a while I had to camp in the woods at times but I look back on it and that was one of my happiest times in life I just felt so free that was good times back then I even miss those times today life was so good did not have much money I would work in day labor to make some money are still I cooked in the woods and stayed in the woods it was a good life back then I was so happy I'm still happy but I miss those times because I felt so free

Brooke, you and the other women of Alone have inspired me so much! Instead of waiting any more years to find a male partner who would do these outdoorsy things with me, I'm now going out on my own and teaching myself shelter building, fishing, hunting, tanning... all kinds of things. It is so empowering. You are a badass, and also a sweetheart - thank you for being you!

I love how you made your birch chain to mark each day of accomplishment, the way you kept track of the fish you caught, and the calendar and the diary. I never even thought about how important it is mentally for survival to have a sense of time and to have some sense of organization. I have never even camped by myself, so I am in complete awe of you and your ability to survive and to enjoy life. Thank you for sharing your adventures Brooke! It means a lot to me!!! Thank you thank you!!!

The biggest disappointment in watching Alone 5 for me was that they didn't give you more air time. The biggest surprise of this video is how much stuff they allowed you to take back with you.

Brooke, I love everything you and Dave do. I'm 63, my survival days are behind me, but your love for nature is addictive, and I just think it's wonderful to see, how you seem to push obstacles away, I could tell from Vancouver to Siberia, you had learned some things, I love how, as good as you are, you keep allowing yourself to be taught new things, so Inspiring . I am subscribed to both you and Dave's channels, thank you for doing them, and God bless you both.

I live off grid at the base of Mount Shasta. I experienced a storm like you were talking about one day. I could almost see the change in air and you could feel the pressure of the air around you being moved away by the oncoming storm moving down the face of the mountain. To this day it’s one of the most awesome natural phenomenons I have ever experienced.

Thanks, Brook, for sharing your story of what you experienced in Season 4 & 5. I think taking your Letterman Tools & making those crafts was an excellent idea. Ignore those nasty comments! two years later, I'm watching this, my favorite part is watching you at home. Sometimes in the telling your expression stirred something fearful in me, I'm so thankful you are safely at home, and watching you in 2021, me not getting the first bite of your fish or onion, and the troubling look in your eyes, makes me happy today is today. You and Dave are my favorites!

They could make it better at the start by doing a couple of things: 1) Keep everyone warm and nice the day they take you out. Put you in a tent with someone that makes sure that you are not going out and getting started. Then the next day they, feed you and turn you all loose at the same time. 2) Send drones out to each area before launch day and let you watch them fly over your area too choose where you want to be dropped off in your area. 3) Turn you loose in the spring.

I agree with the first one for sure, and the third would make it a little easier. I think they should definitely start out in the same well-fed condition. As to the second, I think their locations are chosen randomly. It wouldn't be fair to let them choose their own, because not everyone would be able to get their choice.

This was such a tremendously amazing story to tell, be soooo proud that you have had the ablilty and guts to 1. Do it, but then 2. Live to tell it. Yes, dear you shoukd feel so proud. My favorite part of this story is prolly everything. But your creativity, the daysy chain, the baskets, the jewelry, all of those Amazing things you made is most likley what I love the most. I actually remember seeing you wear those feather earrings on another vlog you did, thinking to myself...How cool is this Brooke girl...lol...I wish you so much luck with your new adventures, God only knows you deserve it.. I just watched your story and found myself crying for missing out on "my life" by screwing it up being frustrated at constant discouragement instead of being encouraged to be who GOD made me to be. At 58 I find myself being rejected by most of my family(thx cv19 bs)and desperately yearn to just be engulfed by nature! I kayak, fish, forage and camp alone now. I crave your videos hahaha they feed my soul. Your prayers make me happy. Will be actually DOING your 5 fire "thing". Thank you so much! God bless you!

Hearing you say “you kept yourself busy so you wouldn’t eat yourself alive”, or something to that affect, really makes me think about why we are seeing so much depression. Think about it, everything is empty instant gratification, which does zero for the mind and soul. This Spring I am going to build a pallet tiny home, just so I have both a physical and emotional positive project to accomplish. Stuff and things don’t bring the same kind of satisfaction as doing some of the most basic physical things. I love watching you attack a project with such fierce determination and love of the challenge. It is inspiring. And I love that you give thanks to our Almighty God for all the gifts and blessings in your life.

I think making your crafts during that time in Mongolia is an awesome thing to do and a very good way to steward your time. I totally understand being in beyond hot weather! I love being outdoors but, live in Texas, where it gets really hot so, in July and August, unless I am in the pool, I stay inside with the air-conditioning.

Wow! wow! I can't imagine what it would be like to be alone for that long and starving. The most I have been alone was 6 days backpacking.. I honestly LOVED it. But did find myself talking to myself... (and I had a dog with me). When the show aired I tried to find videos of you at your camp.. they just didn't post that many, I was bummed. I know you worked so hard there. I am so proud of you.. you are a strong woman, I am curious what this has done to change you.. Love the painting you bought. I don't have a favorite part of the show since I have not seen it.. I only experienced it through your stories.. (which honestly, I think is better.. I am not a fan of them editing out days of your challenge I would want to see it all.. good, bad, boring, and funny). Cheers by friend.. I have total respect for what you have been through (I would of made jewelry too.. hehe... got to keep the mind busy)

Thanks T.... very kind words! The show taught me it's OK to be human, not to be too prideful, and that you can accomplish way more than you think you can. When I tapped it was a really hard moment... I had wanted to stay longer. But the reality was, I was ready to be done, go home, get a meal, have a chat... And that's the truth. So I had to swallow my pride and just say 'yep, i'm done." And I'm ok with that. I had an amazing journey and no one can take that away from me. It was very satisfying. Thanks for hangin out and you keep being amazing too!!! Cheers

When you made your Reuben sandwich I would absolutely nuts. That’s one of my favorite sandwiches in years it was so delicious looking I want to bite it yummy yummy… may GOD WATCH OVER YOU. One of my favorite things about you Brooke how you pray 🙏 Do you have faith in God it’s so amazing to watch you pray and how you pray for all of us I get all choked up with tears in my eyes. My favorite part of season 5 was your behind the scenes footage that you shot. It seems to me they didn't show enough footage of season 5. Thanks Glenda

I wish that we got to see more of you. I was sad to see you go. I hope that History leaks your commercial one day. My favorite part of season 5 was seeing Randy build his log cabin and fireplace.

Love bows! Lobe recurve bows! I would love to have one and hunt with it but I am not sure I could pull one back. I'm 5 feet tall, maybe I'll need to get a kid size😂

Awesome thank you so much Brooke for that info!! I have to really tell you that I think you're the best!! When I think about someone being the salt of the earth, you definitely come to mind!! You bring so much joy to a lot of people, and many of us whom don't get out in the woods much, definitely vicariously live through you and your experiences. We all learned so much from you on survival tips, that if God forbid we were ever to be faced with an unexpected situation in the woods, many of us would turn to the survival educational information that you've provided for us to survive and stay alive. And for that alone, I have to thank you so very much! They say that everything happens for a reason. And I truly believe that! Because one day I was scrolling through my RU-vid channels, and bumped into your show. And I've been a fan follower of yours ever since! I'm not easily impressed, but I have to say you've not only impressed me, but you've inspired me! now I don't think I could spend a night in the woods alone by myself like you do, so I have to tip my hat off to you! But a possible hike ... As you say, SHE GONE! lol ... thank you so very much Brooke Whipple for keeping us all smiling on all your adventures!! 👍🙂 Lots of love! Greetings from a another girl in the woods. Living alone in a dry cabin near Fairbanks with my retired sled dog team. Just wanted to say thank you for sharing your story. I really enjoyed it. Watched all season of Alone, cheering on the girls out there. Loved your team work in 4 (I loved the fireplace) and your creativity in 5. I strongly believe what you say that you have to adapt to the situation. I can imagine how hard it was doing it alone, with no interaction. Winter are long and dark here, I adapted good being alone because I still can call or visit friends. I admire you that you could do that. Skills can be learned, being mentally strong enough to stay there and survive not. Have a great winter and stay warm.

Great video! One of my favorite parts of season 5 was Larry pepper spraying his bedding inside his shelter. I was sure that he'd wind up getting enough of the spray in his eyes to cause problems, but it seemed that it didn't happen. You answered a question I had been wondering for some time now regarding the traps (why it seemed that on some seasons folks had more than one. I suspected that one was given for protecting show equipment.). It really is surprising how much the reality of a person's experience can vary remarkably from what is portrayed on the show. I was under the impression that you didn't ever have much of anything to eat, and that was what in part lead to your tapping out. Sounds like you ate far more than we were led to believe. Well, like I was telling Dave a week ago, in two weeks I'm going to be heading up into the Colorado mountains for a solo experience. Not for too many days (unfortunately), but it will be my longest time alone in the wilderness to date. It's pretty much early winter up there now, so my experience ought to be quite interesting!
