I could listen to Erik talking for hours. Interviews with other musicians are often boring and sterile, but his never are. He truly has interesting things to say and a good way to express them.
It's nice to see Erik evolve past the edge lord he always was. He's such an intelligent guy and even Selim and Jon let themselves be seen as human. Selim was even thought of as genuinely sweet and kind to people but channeled the same kinds of energies in his music.
His personality has always been one of the things that really grabbed me alongside their great music. The last piece of advice sums it up. Those emotionally harrowing moments in songs make Watain's music so much more important to me than other bands.
What a fantastic interview dude. I've never seen Erik speak so freely. Kudos on coming at this from a different angle and as well for respecting the musical craft and journey. I expect you have some decent experience yourself on the road in order to have such insight. Erik himself seems a complex and guarded man with a great depth of knowledge and through your work we have seen a little beyond the veil. Well done.
I love when the artist is really comfortable with the interviewer. In some interviews he was like performing somehow, it happened with other artists, but they are who they are.. you get to know the passionate guy with their art and music, and it all flows really well. Cool interview!
Watched them perform in 2010 , during the start of their Lawless Darkness - tour and I got totally blown away. Best performance I ever attended. Erik's charisma is pretty much unparallelled , in my opinion.
MARVELLOUS interview. Easy and curious questions (that usually no one asks)..just to pour a bit whiskey and light a cigarille to argue and join the interview along. And a friendly and open Eric.. Goood jooob!
Yeah, but I think that those lil' Swede has choosen it because it appeared on the artwork of Hellhammer's "Apokalyptik Raids" (1990 version), not because of the artist.
I feel this interview really appeals to musicians and as a vocalist/guitar player in the metal kingdom I appreciate hearing a more specific perspective on his craft, not just how their touring is going etc etc you really pull more meaningful information out of the musicians you have on here. I wish more people asked deeper questions like this! You really ask leading questions that make them think deeply on the spot. Tusen Takk fra norge, har det bra ;@ 🇳🇴
Thank you. To be honest I am myself quite bored after doing 1000+ basic interviews in my life and wanted to some change myself as well for these. I feel this is 100 times more interesting content than a basic interview. 🤟
I don't understand how it can "be referred to as". Either it is or it isn't. IS it their first demo or not? Maybe a problem with the english words? Lol
He would be amazing. Actually tried once but we was not available for interviews around then. Hopefully that will happen. And personally I would love to hear Dani Filths story as well. I might be able to do it around the live album. 🤔🤟
@@chaoszine it would be epic 👍. I want to personally thank you for doing the series, man.. it’s such an important resource for aspiring metal vocalists to hear how our favorite singers got to where they are
