Each year I ask my street photography workshop students to choose their favourite image for inclusion in this annual 'showcase' video. Many of the images you'll see here were taken by complete beginners - others much more experienced. When you're starting out in a world full of 'experts' it's not always easy to find the confidence to get your work out there - so kudos to those who did :-). I hope you enjoy their images.

Well done everyone who's had the courage to contribute. Some super work here. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I dont know (nor care) if its your first ever photograph or youve been doing it 50 years. If i like the picture, I like the picture. And @brian if you put these in a photo book, I for one would buy a copy

I am on a steep learning curve with the genre of street photography, but so good to see such a variation of styles, and this has inspired me to venture further into some of the other areas of street photography.

Great collection. I had to watch a few times and pause many times to look at the photographs. Its is easy to see the many factors that influence street photography. Clever shots, right time/right place, waiting for the moment, seeing things differently, etc.

Wonderful video Brian! There's some excellent and very enjoyable work in there and I love it how it spans a good solid spectrum. What I love even more I always learn something here. This one almost got away from me I see as a had a bad stomach virus a few weeks ago but happy to be able to catch up. Always looking forward to your next video.

@@StreetSnappers Thankfully completely in the rear view mirror. It was an interesting exercise in endurance because this was the first time I was actually kept from being out there roaming the streets with my camera and to be quite frank Brian it almost made me depressed. I’ve only been shooting street seriously for about 2 years and when folks talk about the process it’s not just focusing a mechanical lens. It’s the electric excitement of physically being out there with my camera which represents quite a bit of my internal peace of mind I’ve come to learn. I just totally love it. It’s a real passion.

Interesting how many play jazz to showing street photography. Suppose jazz, especially cool jazz, is a very urban form of music.

For a really cringeworthy experience, try listening to jazz over sports, wildlife or boudoir photography, the last one being about the creepiest. A lot of classical music, on the other hand, can be played in virtually any context, but I guess it just isn’t that in vogue on the Y tube.

Tbh very underwhelming and boring photos. But that’s the beauty of street photography as beginners. We all start from somewhere and develop a better sense of what to shoot over time 👍
