I still have the second half of the video to watch but had to pause it to comment! I totally understand where you’re coming from and your anxiety surrounding the Arnold! I for one have to say that I am SO HAPPY you decided to come because meeting you and being able to chat with you for a little at the P’tula booth was the highlight of my weekend!! You are exactly how I imagined you’d be in person which was such a relief! So many people on social media portray themselves as something they aren’t which can be very discouraging when you actually get to meet them! I look up to you so much and strive to keep the same genuine love and just realness on my channel and social media as well! You are an inspiration to so many people and I just want to say THANK YOU! Thank you for being you and staying true to who you are. Thank you for sharing all parts of your life including your lows because lord knows we all have them!! And thank you again for coming to the Arnold!! I’m so excited and grateful I was able to meet you❤️🤗 okay I’m going to watch the rest of the video now😂😂

"I am here and I am blessed!" Wow - That hit me so hard and I am so on the same page with EVERYTHING that you have spoken about here Em - I am so grateful that you share with us so candidly how you are feeling, it reminds me everyday why I do what I do despite what my image is - It is something that I was struggling with yesterday as I was editing my content for RU-vid - I can see that I am no longer 'lean' and even though I know that's not why people watch my content - It surely does make me not want to get out the camera anymore... If there is anything that I would love for you to hear it is that your positive impact does not end with your subscribers on YT and your followers on IG - It has a ripple effect through to all of our friends and family and people that we come into contact with EVERYDAY and that smile that we wear from knowing you and watching your pursuit is something that could save a life or pull someone like me out of their slump and get them shining the light again! Thank you Em Xx

You’re incredible. I struggled HEAVY with anxiety and depression since I was a child, and finally got help in 2016. After 6 months of talk therapy I was put on medication and it honestly saved my life. Talk therapy helped my anxiety, but the medication was so so life changing. I always say it was like putting glasses on for the first time and realizing you’ve always been blind lol. This is coming from someone who has always been against taking any type of daily medication. But living this new life is so worth it. I’m forever thankful God led me down the recovery path he did, even if I couldn’t see it at the time. I pray you find similar peace regardless of how you get there.❤️

I love you duder. Keep tucking on. I have been in recovery for 2 years from anorexia, but with almost graduating college and starting a career, my anxiety and depression have been at an all time high. Tuesday I reached out to my bf and visited him at work to talk about my struggles. I had just weighed myself, and while I look great, I was reminded I’m up 30 pounds. I was on my death bed when I was that thin, but even then I didn’t feel good enough. It’s been so hard. This week, I was so vulnerable. And on the way home, I got in an accident and totaled my car. Just really devastated how everything happened at once. But IM OK, and it was a huge wake up call to live life on the daily because you literally never know. And I’m so proud of how far I’ve come the past few years, all the hardships I’ve faced and fears I’ve overcome. and I’m just going with the flow and doing my best. You should be proud of yourself too. I love you. You can do hard things.

Em, I am so sorry you’re dealing with all of this. I personally haven’t had the struggles with anxiety, however one of my close friends does and just had a beautiful testimony about this last night at bible study... I cannot encourage you enough to look into the armor of God in Ephesians to see how much power of Christ there is to protect your mind and heart from anxiety, etc. The battle is beyond us and God is there to pull you up. My friends anxiety is being transformed by the power of Christ into submission and rest in knowing the Father is taking complete care of her. Philippians 4:6-7 New King James Version (NKJV) 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Prayingthe same for you girl. Keep being awesome 🤓❤️😊

I could not possibly recommend anxiety medication more! I spent literally my entire life just suffering and not wanting to be one of those people on medication. It finally got to the point where I couldn’t take it anymore. I didn’t do anything ever. I went to work and came home and that was it. I got so anxious about being in the car, being out anywhere, anything. All my anxiety manifested itself as digestive issues. Aka diarrhea any time I tried to be brave enough to “go out.” I am now on the lowest dosage of lexapro which is for generalized anxiety and can also be used for depression. It has CHANGED MY LIFE. The first couple of weeks is a weird adjustment period, but after that I’ve just been so great. Take the leap!

Briana Kendrick I took medication for a short time and I quit cold turkey bc I felt really judged by people whenever I would tell them I was on an anti anxiety depression medication. It would kill me every time I either told a friend or a health care worker to see their face and demeanor change around me.

I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks as well, and when I was going through it no one was talking about it. That made it so much worse because it made me feel so alone and like something was wrong with me. When I joined RU-vid I realized how many other people are going through the same thing and it truly helped. Thank you so much for sharing your story, it really does help others feel less alone❤❤❤

Thank you for opening up on the subject. I am starting to do some research on it because I’m worried my 12 year old daughter may be dealing with it or a combination of things. I’d love to know anything non-medicinal you’re doing around self-care, meditation, etc. to help reduce anxiety. The teen pressures, drama, social media, and confidence issues are taking a toll on her and it’s so frustrating feeling like I can’t help or understand what she’s feeling when things happen. We are starting with a counselor to discuss coping mechanisms but would love any other ideas. I’ve been following you for years and while I love your fitness stuff, I think your channel is an opportunity for so much more! I love your life coach type stuff as well as your beauty and fashion stuff you’ve done in the past. Please stick with it and find your inspiration!

This is the first time I've ever commented on a video of yours even though I've been following (and loving) your content for awhile. Your story today struck a chord with me, mainly because I have been dealing with anxiety and depression and a rough relationship with my body/food for almost this entire year. I thought it had beaten me when a close friend of mine with an incredibly bright future passed away unexpectedly in January. Life is so so fleeting, and his passing has made me so much more conscious of my kindness and compassion to others and to myself. You are so incredibly beautiful and strong and brave and I am so so thankful you are sharing your story with all of us. You have helped me feel less alone and more courageous in the face of what once felt like insurmountable adversity. After all - there's a lot to celebrate. There's a lot to be grateful for. And there's a lot to love ❤

I literally just bought one of those mattresses with your code! Cannot wait for it to get here! It’s supposed to come today! 👌🏻 My husband and I struggle with anxiety some too. My dad has anxiety and depression and is on medication for it. I hadn’t experienced it until recently, but it comes about here and there. My husband has dealt with it a lot. He often times turns to drugs and alcohol to calm it, but unfortunately he also struggles with addiction. After hearing about your experience with CBD oil, I suggested it to him and he has been vaping it. And I’m happy to say, he has been drug and alcohol free all year so far. Which is a big accomplishment for him. So thank you for sharing your experience with that! ❤️ Also, we have been back in to a church we love and been doing devotionals and studies each day. And that helps a lot too. Focusing on God and the blessings we have helps us through the hard times!

Your impact is so much more than your image. You have a beautiful soul and you’ve been brave enough to share your highs and lows with the world, and THAT means so much to us. I even had anxiety about getting a picture taken at the Arnold because I am furthest from looking my best, but to have that opportunity with you was one I couldn’t pass up - and I’m so glad I did! Now I have that memory regardless of how felt at the time🖤

you are so not alone in your struggle and never forget that. i have been there for so many years in my life. phases where it caused me to lose weight, then gain weight and now it is effecting my digestion. i also had that moment a while back where anxiety took a little bit a of a backseat to things that were going on in my life. does that mean i never deal with it? no, i deal with it quite often still. i'm so grateful you decided to come to the arnold. meeting you was really a tremendous moment for me. i was super anxious and nervous but i had to do it because i have looked up to you and what you stand for. i comment on posts or videos alot of times thinking this person will never remember me or know i even exist. that was part of why i was so scared that day. Emily is going to be like who the heck are you but you remembered who i was from my comments. that meant the entire world to me. to alot that may not seem like much but to me it was everything. i teared up after i left the pescience booth from the excitement i had from meeting you. so i say thank you for coming to the arnold and you looked awesome! thank you for putting content like this out. it reminds me and many others that we are not alone in our struggles.

There is nothing more courageous than people opening up about their struggles with mental health. I'm not in the fitness scene or anything like that, but I do enjoy watching your channel and have watched your videos for the past couple years. I, too, have struggled with anxiety and depression and I think a lot has to do with being in my early 20's and fear of the unknown. I have been seeing a counselor for a year (brave decision in itself) and in November was highly considering going on medication. I've never been on any form of long-term medication (birth control, anti-depressants, etc.) because the thought of being dependent on something bothers me. The counselor I see works at a holistic wellness center and recommended I try a treatment called "Neurofeedback" also known as "Biofeedback". It's a completely non-invasive, painless treatment that creates new pathways in your brain and the results are long-lasting. It's a 20-30 session treatment that requires you to go twice a week for an hour. I have one more session left and I cannot talk more highly about this treatment. I no longer feel like I have to be medicated, I no longer have my weekly breakdowns, and I no longer doubt myself and my abilities the way I used to. I know this is extremely long but whenever I see someone struggling with anxiety/depression, I just want to help and pass on the knowledge and experience that I've gained. You should really look into Neurofeedback and do some research! I'm also here to help if ya need :)

Em, thank you so much for this. You have no idea how grateful I am for this video and how much I needed it. I actually told myself two days ago I was going to try to reach out to you because I am seriously struggling with depression and anxiety due to many life things happening right now, especially unknown health reasons I have tried so hard to fix. I have gone to the obgyn and primary care doctor. I’ve had blood tests done, sonograms, ultrasounds, etc. and nothing. I’m struggling so hard right now and I just don’t know what to do. I appreciate you being raw and honest and being so helpful.

I appreciate this video for so many reason! First, it really did help me through some cardio I was dreading today. Second, I love any video from you. Third, I’m in grad school for clinical psychology and love your openness about your current struggles, bringing awareness to “mental illness doesn’t have a look”, and normalizing that anxiety/depression happens. You attitude to learns different ways to work on yourself is inspiring.❤️

I'm sure it was hard for you to share this, but it's so amazing that you did. I take medication for depression and it took me YEARS to finally accept that I needed it, but once I did I was so thankful. You’re awesome. Beautiful. Strong. REAL. Cliche as it is, sharing these things with us makes you even more genuine and tangible even if it’s through the tube. And there’s a stigma to everything including medication. But if it allows you to show up as your best self in your daily life YOU DESERVE IT

Sorry for your loss, Emily xx It's refreshing to see more influencers sharing their depression/anxiety stories with their followers. This is something that needs to be more mainstream and understood. As someone who has had a lifelong struggle with anxiety [especially, but depression, too] all I can say is, that anything is worth a try. I avoided medication until last year and it's the best thing I ever did - not only for myself, but for everyone in my life. Take care of yourself xx

Holy guacamole was this exactly what I needed to hear, specifically the part about how life is so short. I know I will never be 100% anxiety free and it will probably always be somewhat present but I tend to use it as an excuse sometimes or let it control my day. This video was my wake-up call to not let it control me, to instead work on controlling it because only God knows how many days I have left on this earth and I want every day to be used to best of my ability. You remind me of how blessed I am to be on this earth each day, to have the friends and family that I do AND how blessed we are as a community to have you as a role model and source of wisdom throughout our individual life journeys. So, thank you for this video, and I hope things continue to get better for you. If not, just fly down to Dallas and we can get sushi and play with makeup. :) Ramble over. Love ya.

Yessss so much. I feel like anxiety is a hard thing to grasp for a lot of people. I didn’t realize what was going on with me was anxiety for a long time, I thought something was wrong with me. My heart would race, be nauseated, thoughts would wander and race to crazy things and I felt like I had no control. I’m so glad I’m not to that point anymore but it is still a struggle. Thank you for sharing!!

Your not alone! Anxiety is the hardest thing I have had to fight in my life. People don't really understand unless they go through it. Everyday is a big struggle! Iv realized I have to take a brake and work on my self! Look at holistic routes to! Like yoga, meditation, law of attraction, so much more the food you eat and everything so much research!! It has helped me! But iv realize I have to take it day by day! But the only way out of anxiety is threw it! It's crazy how I feel so accomplished just for doing something so simple people don't understand but to me it is worth it! Also talking and motivating my self! I have 3 law of attraction books and I write in them and I always end with I am fearless! And having a strong partner to help you and try to understand is a BIG thing! My fiancé helps me so much! And it helps a lot because what he learned is he just needs to be supportive and do whatever I say to make me feel better and it works!! You can work through this! Tomorrow is another day! Remember this to shall pass!! I love how you made this video I always wanted to make a video like this!! CBD HAS HELPED ME ALOT TO!! It was weird after I started taking cbd one day in the car I was so calm like no thoughts and it's weird because with anxiety your always tense and for once I have no tenseness!! I'm against medication but that's for me! Just do your research before you decided to go holistic or even do medication! But you have to do what is good for you!

Have you ever had your Vitamin D level checked mid winter and mid summer to see if there is a difference? I work with Rheumatologic and Autoimmune patients and many of them take different dosages October to April versus May to September... just a potential idea 😊 Also, I just want to say that I really truly love your videos and I want them religiously! You are such a genuine down to earth person and you are so naturally well spoken that your videos are so easy to watch and I find that I get to the end and I’m like ‘Damn, I need another 10 mins’! You’re an absolute inspiration and, in my opinion, especially since you have been experiencing changes in your health because it shows how open and real you are and it makes you even easier to relate to! You are giving us an opportunity to watch your struggles firsthand which helps us with our own struggles that aren’t out in the open for the public to know!! I have struggled with anxiety too and have had a lot on hormone/blood work testing done ... usually anxiety forms as an imbalance in your body as I’m sure you know if you have done any research at all, the book Chemistry of Calm has helped tremendously and using Amino Acid Therapy, Holistic approach to deal with the science behind our anxiety... good luck to you girl, you are not alone and I personally know the struggle is real. We will Overcome this !! Thanks for sharing

Lauren Rundquist so what were your hormone levels? I have been struggling with anxiety and panic attacks and have suspected for a while that my hormones are out of wack. I am finding it hard to get anyone to test my hormones though :/ I even had a doctor tell me that there is no correlation between hormones and mood 😠

FitCyn Fitness my doctor showed me my panels and my testosterone levels were way above average for a women- causing me to be on edge all the time- and my progesterone, the calming hormones was ridiculously low ... the combination of the two plus low levels of vitamin B, Vitamin d, serotonin.. my body was so out of wack! It helped a lot to know that i wasn’t crazy and it was a physical thing i was going through with science to back it up. I would find a holistic doctor to test you.

I am exactly the same as you with all this mental struggles. Can't wait for spring and all the beautiful sun, my hubby and kids have gone on vacays to warm places the past 2 years now and it's really key! I've been taking high dose of vitamin d like your said and continuing to workout which is my natural medicine. Putting things into perspective is def a good thing. I always like to "remember my Why" when I lose myself, remember why o started working out or starting my business. It really really helps! 😘😘😘

Emily, thank you for posting this video. I adore you & your spirit. I personally have struggled with anxiety and depression in the last year or so (came out of no where) and this video was very helpful to hear someone else’s story/ side of things. Something that has helped me is meditation & a magnesium supplement called natural calm. You can get it at luckys/vitamin shop/Whole Foods. Keep being you. ❤️

HA! The TRUE kitten kats!!!🐈💕. Life is too short to worry about the expectations of others. I have anxiety as well and one thing I always try to remember is that there is so much beauty in the world to accept stress into your mind. If a thought doesn't serve your well being, toss it. 💕

Thank you for your videos, for being completely you and honest. But don’t feel bad if you don’t/ can’t make a video. Today is not a good day for me and I don’t know why. I just woke up and I don’t know, just very edgy and emotional and it was nice to hear you and to be reminded I’m not alone today. So thank u.

Em! You have no idea how happy I am you decided to come anyway to the Arnold, no matter how you felt anxious or conscious of your body image. I came to the Arnold and frankly, you were the only person I absolutely wanted to meet there! We chatted a little bit and we took a photo at the cured booth 💞 I just wanted to say that you are not alone, you are loved and looked up too! No matter how harsh you can be with yourself, remember that others (especially the ones that really matters) are probably 1000000x less judgemental and only see the good that you bring to them and out to this world. So thank you so much for coming anyway and allowing me to meet you in real life! 😘 You are really inspiring, and definitely not just fitness wise! I am glad if you decide to be back in the youtube game 😊 Take care xxxxx

Emily omg I cant watch you cry without crying myself :( I struggle with anxiety too.....I think one of the biggest things you can do is remind yourself (just like you said in your video) that life is short. do you want to spend it agonizing over the minor things and let it control you? no! you want to make anxiety your bish. also, praying, singing and reading the bible tends to help (at least it does for me). side note....does grant go to church with you? does he share the same beliefs as you?
