As an Australian it is wild to me that people wear Uggs out of the house, it was wild back in the 2000s when they first started trending as a "regular shoe" and it's still wild now. In Australia, apart from a brief moment in the 2000s, you'd only be seen out of the house in them if you were a real bogan, it looked very daggy (I think dag and bogan are real Aussie terms, but they're the best word for what I'm trying to describe, sorry). I realise the fact that they're "ugly" and a slipper makes wearing them outside the house very counter cultural initially and as such kinda cool, but that foam sole is definitely designed for carpets/tiles/floorboards and not the outdoors.
Omg yes, I was going to comment on this, I’ve never worn my uggs out of the house and so surprising to see people in other countries do this. I see them as slippers not boots.
I'm from Argentina and I feel exactly the same. This kind of shoe would be worn as a slipper (I actually own a pair of dupes that I wear around the house). That sole is not meant for going out, i think it would be pretty dangerous as they don't have any grip and you could easily slip. Plus they are really ugly (in my opinion), so I'd rather wear a pair of boots or snow shoes for colder weather
In the early 2000's I'd see teenage girls wearing UGGs with miniskirts. It looks so bad when they are worn and your foot isn't on the sole anymore. They sell some that are meant for outside wear and I think they are more structured around the bottom so your foot doesn't go to the side
As an Australian, for the longest time I didn’t wear my uggs outdoors bc its bogan and the suede is gonna get dirty but this winter my feet were so cold constantly in my dr martens so I bought waterproofing spray and wearing them under my baggy jeans
i got my sambas in june on poshmark for like 20 dollars. they were lightly used and i feel so lucky that i got some before they were in such high demand!! i love them so much i literally wear them every day, i can’t imagine hating them in the future but that’s what we always think about trendy things lol :))

I bought the Frankie Shop jacket and returned it 🙃 Its not horrible, but it's CRAZY stiff so it just looks kind of awkward unless you're like posing in it. I'm 5'8 and got the M/L, but the XS/SM definitely would have been the better choice looking back. Even still, I wasn't impressed enough to return for a smaller size. Hope this helps anyone who may be on the fence
Platforms are absolutely a staple in my closet, I love the extra height and chunky look a platform gives any shoe. I’m significantly more likely to keep a shoe if it’s platform. I love the look of the short platform uggs sooo sooo much
And they're comfortable. You can still get the height even if the heel isn't tall. The angle isn't as extreme. And because the heel is chunky it's much more comfortable than stiletto type heels. I'm happy platforms are back

if you suede treat your uggs, you can protect them a lot more against weather!! you can buy suede protectant and spray them with it and wear them in rain/snow etc

I think the tricky thing with the actual military liner jackets are that they are meant to be that-- LINERS and therefor have a lot of cutouts and stuff like in the armpit area, and they can't insulate you! so watch out for those!!

so, i’ve had my uggs that are the mid calf in chestnut since freshman year of high school. i just graduated college this year, and i still wear the shit out of them every. single. year. even tho that height of ugg boot isn’t as ~trendy~ it’s definitely more practical when it’s cold. I do only wear them on dry fall and winter days as you mentioned since they are basically slippers. (which is why i’ve had them for 8 years now) but you can also spray them with waterproofing spray and that helps keep them in shape a LOT more! since i live in maine, I style them with leggings if i’m running errands or wide leg baggy jeans/ carpenter pants to stay warm! great vid as always laini!
I think my personal issue with the ultra mini uggs is the fact that I live in Norway and it gets really snowy and I could not wear anything that low or I’ll just get snow inside my shoes which is not comfortable. Also light colored uggs in general are not suitable for wet and snowy climate because from experience they get discolored right away and I just don’t want to spend that much on shoes that only look good for the first week or so. I think they’re really cute looking, but they’re definitely not practical or suitable for the Norwegian winter climate unfortunately.
I got the Adidas samba on white but with the green stripes. They’re the Mexico version and they’re so cute! I’m so glad I got them. The green is the collegiate green not the Mexican flag green, they just put the Mexican logo in the tongue and called it a new design 😂
i love my military liner!! i think it looks so good and elevates any outfit but i would nooottt pay $200 for it. the actual military ones are super cheap, like the example that you included and they are authentic!
You know I'm so annoyed by adidas sambas because I was looking for a good skate shoe and found them before they got super popular but then by the time I got around to be willing to drop money on them everyone started buying them and now the plain ones are like £250 😭. Converse are so cute too! But you could find a cooler retro style, with the classic Addisas stripes at any thrift store. It may take some hunting but they will come to you!! I scored mine for $20 and everyone asks what style “sambas” they are. lol. “a thrifted kind my friends” ❤

@@leenn1148 unfortunately I don't live in the US lol. From what I've seen your thrift stores are massive and cheap. Here we have charity shops, the majority of which are pretty small, and they can get quite spenny especially if the item is branded. The alternative is vintage stores with a curated collection and those are literally so expensive, and no way would I ever expect to find popular trainers there because it's usually leather like boots or loafers or smth. It's chill anyway I just need a flat trainer I can beat up on my skateboard
I definitely have three variations of the Reebok Club C. They're all in the color chalk but the Reebok logo varies in color. Different colors, different energy to project!

the uggs would have a kinda specific use case for me. not a every day boot but perfect for going on a short cozy walk with bf in sweatpants or pick um some groceries from the store near by. they're super comfortable and easy to slip into and i dont feel like putting on my more chic boots when i'm in cozy clothes. looks weird. for that they're perfect in my opinion, but paying that much for wearing them so little ? idk. i might get some in good condition second hand ^^ and you obvi need to coat them with a water repellent spray and cant wear them when there is very watery snow. i live in germany btw if that gives any context

My one issue with Uggs is that they always make me think of bad posture. Like during the first time they became really trendy in the 2010s a lot of girls that had them shuffled, walked on the inside of the suede leather because the boot shifted and the sogginess from the snow didnt help either. Anyone noticed this too? Or maybe I was just imagining things
Not just you, this was me in 2010s, though not with real uggs but a dupe. They got destroyed in the winters, they looked awful and as you say, the boot shifted so you walked on the inside lol
@@aspannas yes it isn't structured around the bottom so your foot ends up being partially off the sole. I think they sell UGGs that are meant for outside and are more sturdy. I've thought about getting some but they're so expensive.

the sambas were suuuper popular in my area among teenagers and young adults around 6-8 years ago, had some back then, got another pair now in a colour I wanted back then, and I love them. they've been around and a staple forever, it's weird ppl are acting like they've never seem them before.

im really hoping i can find a long denim skirt at the thrift store, i found a couple but they're too big. there was one super cool corduroy one that was a bunch of panels cut on the bias so it was like diagonal kind of. it was too small though.
I also highly recommend checking out The Real Real for knee high leather boots!!! Got a pair there for not much $$ and I wear them every single weekend 💞

With a big shoe size and slim feet I really didn't find myself brave enough to buy second hand boots but now I got Vagabond Brooke ones which were pricey but the quality is good and my ancle isn't shivering around... Normally I agree to go buy it second hand tho✌

with the quilted liner jacket, of course you can just buy a cheaper dupe but it will not have the same quality and fit. I don't think it is worth to just go for the cheaper option. I don't think you would gravitate to that much when it comes to choosing your jacket if you then dislike the fit and quality of the material
I got the Alohas vegan tall black boots for ~$120 and it’s a really great shoe in terms of style and comfort but the bottom lining on one of the heels like fell off and I was really disappointed with that. Gotta take them to the cobbler now. That being said, I think ppl should be really careful about buying vintage shoes because the soles can crumble if they weren’t well worn when they were first made

Omg no the quilted jacket! It looks like 1 what old ladies would were in early autumn 2 horses covers and 3 they are meant to be a lining for a coat (originally) therefore not really meant to be seen, please keep them hidden 😂
