As a woman, that's probably 10. Maybe fifteen years older than you, I have a teenager. I have never shown him on anything. I never put him on my instagram, i was never into facebook, never put him on there. I heard about a girl that got kidnapped because of her mom's facebook posts. There's a lot of weirdos out there, i think it's awesome. You're keeping her privacy plus there are people that use their kids to get famous like family channels. Plus they show really personal moments that you know the kid is going to hate that it's up there someday. Also, the kids have no rights. Any money that's made unless the parents save it for them, It's the wild west out there. It's always so sad to me to see.Children forced into social media. I think we're gonna have a whole generation of pretty screwed up people, because everything they ever did was up online. I see that raw beauty christie is doing the same.I think it's awesome. Great job on the house it's darling. I used to really love midcentury for a super long time. Now i'm into more extravagant antiques. But I love vintage and antiques.
Something about your home interior seems so Hong Kong/Japanese, especially the way the steps in the front door are built, the beige + + wood + red tones, sliding doors and smaller hallways. Very lovely.
That entry wall is really sweet, I agree. But I would take off that hanger over the shoe rack. You can't hang anything on it and it is just cluttering the beautiful entry wall. I love you and your sweet videos ❤
Laini! Yourself and Paige are my favourite RU-vidrs, I just came from her channel now 😅 It’d be sick (If you were interested) to see a video of her designing your bedroom space!
I appreciate the desire to preserve architectural and design features. I do. But also …. It’s YOUR home, not a museum. Unless you’re living in a Frank Loyd Wright home where every detail of the home, from the textiles to the furniture, was designed by him for the home, why on earth would anyone get bent out of shape about removing wallpaper? Not everything that was made in the middle of the last century was worth preserving, frankly. Your home has a lot of warmth and charm and it feels like a home. It reflects your own style and the period of life you are in with a young child and I appreciate that. It’s irksome that so many people try to hide that. It doesn’t last. They really do grow up sooner than you’d believe and you’ll have plenty of time to indulge your more sophisticated design ideas. It makes life so much easier to just lean in and let your home be what it needs to be. You’ll probably be able to find a yellow tub somewhere. Or maybe you can find one that would fit with the time of the home and have it painted in a matching yellow.
your home is so perfectly YOU. a refreshing antidote to all the grey and white "modern" houses out there appealing to the lowest common denominator; so much personality! I love the mix of vintage, personal, handmade, and practical items. that's what I strive for in my own home. and I love your comments about sometimes having to make concessions for practicality over aesthetics! because yes you can make it cute but in reality we are not out here scrubbing our white sofas every day lol
we are considering having bb number two and therefore discussed that a solution to space would be to switch bedrooms so the kids would have the bigger space. then i had a lightbulb moment: why not just do it right away for all the reasons u mentioned. and it's such a good idea, especially if u are in small apartment. if the "small" room can fit a full size bed and your clothes, u don't need much else if u are the adult. we enjoy so much to have playtime in her room with all that additional floor space now + when she has friends over they can can really let loose in there while the adults hang in the livingroom :)
What I really feel like you need in the bedroom is a dresser! It can be cheap, bolted to the wall, acts as extra clothes space (for you before the closet downstairs gets done or for your partner who is storing clothes in the living room), and is another place to put things down! It definitely seems like you have the space and I just think dressers are the perfect landing zone
for you wanting to switch rooms with lucy when shes older is so thoughtful! but its true as adults we linger in the living room ☺️ such a cute home you need to take alot of pics ! so you can look back at this beautiful home 🏡 ❤️
where’d u get all ur hanging art and such? i’m so excited i bought a house recently and used a lot of my grandma vintage hope chests, side drawers, and bookshelves to build my library! im also starting a fun art wall but so far i just have 2 items🤣 hoping to thrift more items and such
I love that you respect the character of your house, while putting in your own personal touch ✨ Also I don't always love a sectional either, but every space and every family have different needs and constraints. I think the sectional couch looks great in your space! 💕
Love that you kept the yellow bathroom tiles!! The house has a 70s film looking, its so special :) Btw im convinced that future lucy will be grateful of keeping her privacy!! Also you are such a great mum to even think of switching her to the biggest room in the house, my mum would never 🫶🏻
