I AM BACK with another video where I am giving feedback on the items my subscribers are thinking of purchasing for their homes. ENJOY! EPISODE 1 - • my subs sent me items ... STUFF www.instagram.... www.paigewassel...
Thanks for your brutal honesty! Would love to see videos on how you would tackle pattern clashing in spaces, how to incorporate bright colors or neon, and more obscure furniture/decor retailers you’d recommend. Also me and my husband think you’re rad AF. Thanks for being the best!
That’s so funny. I found Paige through Caroline and probably she mentioned her as a really cool RU-vidr, so I opened one of her videos, got hooked and then in my mind smth weird happened - I thought they were sisters. And every time one of them said smth about her sister, I thought it was about either Paige or Caroline. There’s smth very alike about them, both appearance and style.
OK shout out to whoever is on Edmonton facebook market place and sent the chrome chair with brown corduroy. I’ve been eyeing that chair wondering if Paige would approve!! Hope you scooped it up 😂 -xoxo a fellow yegger
AHH that’s my chair!! I posted it on fb bc I wasn’t sure if i had time to fix it up but then I just couldn’t part with it. It was so trippy watching this & seeing my post like what I didn’t know there were other Edmonton people watching Paige 🤎
Oh my God, I had that orange acrylic mushroom lamp as a kid in the ‘70’s! I was sneaking and reading after bedtime one night and I had the light muted by draping the lamp with a folded blanket and my robe. It burned through all five layers and melted the lamp. My parents were NOT pleased.
Some video ideas I’d love to see: -how to curate your own eye for design. So many people just rely on videos like this to tell them how to feel about design. I’d like to know how you established your very unique design style. -prop styling tips and resources to learn about prop styling for those of us who are interested in it as a career. Love your videos so much, Paige. You are a breath of fresh air! (I also love these sub send you shit videos)
"go over and smeeeeell the cushions....it could be. Dirty." ROLF! And I had an experience with a nasty couch when I was first living with my husband. I washed and scrubbed it, took off all the cushion covers washed them with my hard earned quarters....and we were sitting on it that night after cleaning it all day. Peeeeeeuuuwww!! Really bad, smelled like throwup/cigarettes/cat pee! We were on the third floor. Opened the windows and tossed all the cushions out, carried it back down the steps, and threw it in the dumpster! Out 50 bucks, roll of quarters, cleaning supplies, and my dignity.....but we kept the free painting that went with it and I still have it! It is a boat painting....and every time I see it, I smile! :) My mom had two mushroom lamps just like that vintage one! They had purple shades....she had them for our whole childhood I believe.
as a gen z watcher i’d love to have you comment on tik tok/college rooms and give your ideas on how to make them look more grown up! i’m moving out of my college space soon into my own place to start working and i want to make everything look a little more mature.
Well the fact that you want it to look more mature is a good start, IMHO. I would start following designers you like and see what it is that appeals to you in their spaces. Also, Paige's Chicago condo is full of inspiration. Good luck! It's fun to decorate you first place.
you should review some of the NOWNESS: My Place home tours! much nicer than the celebrity ones and i'd love to hear your opinion on Devendra Banhart's bathroom
Immediately went and showed this to my boyfriend as proof bidding on the Kilim polish rug and folk painting was the right choice. Sadly didn’t win the bidding war for the rug…
How much?? Ok, i'm from Poland, i need to say: kilim is a type of rug you put on a WALL, nowedays people thinks it's very old-fashioned and should only exist in grandparents houses. For me kilims are ok, but when they're vintage, this one was very cute but for me - little but overpriced. The person who bought this for $750 exaggerated, it's almost 3000 zł and I can find on polish reselling websites other killims in similar sizes, also from Cepelia and also from '60 and '70 for 500-700 zł, which equals $125-175. And fun fact - Cepelia is short for Centrala Przemysłu Ludowego i Artystycznego, which is "Folk and Art Industry Headquarters". They rallied folk and artistic handicraft cooperatives and ran commercial establishments dealing with the sale of goods produced in associated cooperatives. The goods were made or inspired by the works of Polish folk artists. That killim from the video was olso handcrafted, maybe even made by sam old lady living in a polish village, then resold by Cepelia in one of big cities. I have nothing to do right now, I'm going to find out who designed and made it 😆
@@agnieszkahajduk5901 Such interesting info! yes, i was hoping to have it as a wall hanging for a kids bedroom. I LOVED the motifs, never seen a kilim rug like that before. If you find the artist, i'd love to know. But yeah completely agree, $750 was outrageous to me when I found out too.
Paige, I’m happy to see you still uploading and I hope your starting to feel a little better! The algorithm suggested to me a series on House & Garden’s channel where they show Matilda Goad transforming her home and the process she took when designing. I think there’s things you’d love and things that aren’t your style but a great series nonetheless- might make for some good content or even just a nice watch for you with a cuppa. Wishing you well ❤️
The adorable Goo!! So good to see her cute face!🐶 I loved her version of saying or grunting hello to us lol.♥️ Paige did you see the AD video of Gwyneth Paltrow’s home yet? I am dying to hear and see your review on her home. Your hair style looks great today btw and I just love and agree with all your choices in this video.
Lol loveee that you featured that weird couch I sent you (5:00) You're totally right, It did look a little dingey. I'm not in the market for a new couch but I had just been looking at it and (as much as I dont like this word either I feel like I have to use it...) it just had a ✨vibe ✨ to it that I couldn't tear my eyes away from. And right after that I saw your IG story so I figured I would share! If it were in better condition (and definitely after a thorough cleaning!) it could look cool in another spot. LOVED your opinions on all these though! I'm very much in agreement of going craigslist/vintage/facebook marketplace, not just for the sake of being more affordable but the stuff out there is just way cooler than amazon, anthro, etc.
Things I liked (not considering $): 2:28 folk art Kilim rug 3:30 wooden bedframe 5:20 check coverlet 8:00 chrome and mint lounge chair 8:33 coffee table (if much smaller) 9:08 Eames elephant 9:37 Studio McGee console table in black 10:25 daphne table lamp and grisewood lamp & shade 😍 11:57 esme rug 12:18 shinola Michigan chair! 13:03 gallery light 14:02 Moroccan rug (sorry Paige bb) 14:25 wall squiggle (rather, the chains of bent wood sold by the same artist. Modern log cabin vibes.) 15:46 green and bent plywood chairs
My cb2 rug made the cut yay!! Thanks for reassuring my purchase. I actually couldn’t wait for your review and purchased it right after sending it to you 😂
Paige, I never comment- but had to! Absolutely love your content :-) You give good interior and styling tips and showcase some really different brands and artists/designers etc. Plus you make me laugh and come across as super approachable. Hope you have a great week, looking forward to your next vid!
Thank you for getting me hooked on FB marketplace!!! I got the BEST deal on there and I’m so proud and happy with it! I’ve been bragging about it to everyone lol. A woman was selling an American Leather 3-Seater Sofa and Oversized chair, which look very similar to their current Copenhagen or Manhattan style. She was selling the sofa and chair for only $300 in great condition! Literally rented a uhaul the next day to jump on that deal and had to drag it out of her high rise condo into my third story apartment, but it was so worth it. The sofa and chair were originally this cranberry/mahogany color but I used Rub N Restore leather dye to dye it a nice cognac brown color and it turned out amazing :) :) :) Now I’m addicted.
LOVE you and your videos, firstly. I absolutely fell in love with that “McGee” lamp as well and we can both feel better about it because after a quick search on the lamp name, McGee must be reselling it under their name. The Dapne lamp is originally sold by Currey & Company and the Grisewood’s original seller is OKA - which I’m finding both have some very cool items. Cheers to now having some new sites to peruse! I hope you check them out as well 😊
I found your channel this week and it was immediately my favorite. I would love to see a video of things that you consider to be "timeless" in interior design. Or a video in which you review subscriber Pinterest boards.
I really like to hear you are getting rid of all your security blankets and jump into adventure, GO WASSELPA! And that moment where you had the couch that looked like … “really old skin” 🤔☺️😆😆😆😆 and btw, yay to folk art.
I know with these things it really just depends on the person with what they should get, but I love when you do these because I think it makes a lot of us really think through our purchases differently. Like, do I want this for now or will I love it later? Will this be as functional as I think in the long term? Is this just trendy? Questions like that. So thank you!
Great video! Already looking forward to part 3!! It’s really interesting to hear your thoughts and understanding your point of view, especially on trendy items we see everywhere on IG. I find these topics very helpful. Thanks! 🙂 I’m in the process of designing my new place and it can become quite overwhelming. After awhile, everything looks the same!? 😭 It would be interesting to learn more about how to stay fresh and current by integrating a few trends, while at the same time designing a functional and timeless(ish) space.
I’m moving into an apartment in a couple weeks and I really like mid-century modern vibes but don’t want to over do it. Can you do a video on how to not over do everything with mid-century modern furniture/decor??
video ideas ! - home review of jeremiah brents California home (first video not their second home) - reviewing subscribers pinterest! - dorm/budget ideas with specific products - reviewing bauhaus designers ( eames, le corbusier, etc.)
I’ll buy a different lamp shade haha. And I’ll be ordered the elephant in a week. Such cool submissions though! That puzzle-whatever wooden bed frame was so dope.
Your way too funny! I think all of your subscribers must be rolling in the dough 😆 cuz jeez I couldn’t justify spending that much money on a majority of this stuff! My husband would faint! 🤣 that being said, so much fun to see what others like
10:01 I was thinking of buying that same piece of furniture, but I passed. I think I read a lot of bad reviews on it. One thing to consider is that you have to assemble it yourself, and it's not easy. You have to get those little doors hanging right so that they will close properly--and I think if the quality is bad, there's nothing you can do to fix the problem if they DON'T close. And it's not cheap either!
Unfortunately wouldn’t recommend the “wall squiggle” piece. Bought the smaller size and mine came completely warped and with a stain. Very disappointed for the quality - especially since I bought in CAD.
The funky couch from the 5 minute mark is in the movie The Royal Tenenbaums!! Owen Wilson’s character has it in his house! I had watched this video a week before and was watching the movie and thought- wait I’ve seen that couch!!! I hope someone has it now and watches the movie
I feel like it would be a hard pass on the black and gold 70's swinger's sofa. I don't even want to imagine what might have happened on that piece of furniture.....
glad you are back and hope you are doing well 💓 keep up with the videos !!! I am moving to a new apartment in april, your content is so very helpful & appreciated
Oh my god the water marble style sofa at 4:52 was in Owen Wilsons apartment in the Royal Tennenbaums. Would’ve snatched that in a heartbeat (and given it a very good clean).
Love your videos! Could you do a video on like italian design pieces? On their history or your opinion on items like the parentesi lamp and superfragola mirror (like staple italian design pieces). Would love to know what you think about them!
Paige, I would love to see an IKEA "shop with me video" and hear your commentary on what you like and dislike. Either their product in the showrooms or just anything that's trendy that you hate, lol. Your comment on the console table made me want to hear more of your thoughts about IKEA. :)
I have a feeling that wooden spiral sculpture is for books… something about the way each ‘step’ has a lip at the top, like you could wedge a book edge under it?
I just wanna share that the first ikea in my country was just built this year, we don't have famous western shop that caters to interior design so its very hard for me to buy things for my room
